Wow! I love that voice, it makes me feel vibrating, chilling......it touches my soul in a lovely way. I can get now, why Bjiörling was the favorite tenor of my father...thanks ❤️🧡💛
@@josuerestrepo1476I feel like it’s worth pointing out no singer ever, to my knowledge, has ever claimed to be superior to Caruso. History has proven him, above all others, to have no equal. And for his voice to render so beautifully on those 110 year old recordings, just imagine what he could do with today’s technology!
@@josuerestrepo1476 More a matter of personal taste if anything. For example, Pavarotti’s father was a huge fan of Gigli, but when a Young Pavarotti heard Di Stéfano for the first time, he immediately liked him more. He later explained that though Gigli had a much ‘bigger‘ voice, he much preferred Di Stéfano’s flawless phrasing and deep emotion that were present in his songs. So I guess it’s impossible to say for certain who had the superior voice, seeing as everybody has different music tastes.
Nah. I feel like death is coming near and there is nothing left to do. A tear falls apart because that's it. Nothing more, not a new chapter in life, face with your own death. Uncanny but yet beautiful.
I just listened to Pav singing this on an opera compilation; now Pav is a true great, but I had to come here to the rightful owner of this aria. It's just simply perfect,
I always come back to Jussi. I still remember the first time I heard his voice almost 70 years ago. It was the iconic final moments of Nessun Dorma. It was like the clouds parted and the sun shone through.
Apart his unbelievable voice and singing this guy had something that just a few singers had...the thing that we call "Soul"...as Adria here below says: he makes us cry every time we hear him singing...
The diction and clarity of his voice is unearthly, mesmerizing and with such warmth. We'll never hear the like again and are fortunate to have heard it at all.
Both are Masters. Most great singers are not. They are great singers, but not masters. Caruso and Björling are the foundation that even great singers like Pavarotti dwells upon.

THE Great JUSSI Bjorling ,what a voice ,I have been listing to him since I was a young kid ,Threw my dad ,HE make the hair on the back of my neck stand on end, I do not understand every thing about opera ,But my dad did BUT he always said to me ,you do not always have to understand ,JUST LISTEN TO THE VOICE !!TO me it blows my mind ,and takes me to another place for many many hours Thoughts of happier times, THANKS so much ,JUSSI .
yes, your dad is wise. actually when I listened to those FOREIGN languages arias, maybe the music, voice or spirit captivated me, without meaning of words, maybe it is even better actually when one does not know what he or she is singing...
One thing I really appreciate is the slightly slower tempo (compared to other interpretations). Too many times I see these pieces hurried up as if it's a good thing... THIS tempo is soooo much better and it brings out so much more feeling. I love it!
Absolutely agree with your point.. It’s feels like he is giving a different meaning to the whole aria. The phrasing and the legato is on the highest level here
Anyone who does not believe this the premier voice in opera has no ear. Jussi was incredible, pure and powerful in his performances which seem so effortless. I wish we had the technology to record him in HD when he was doing live performances. Even under this quality of recording, he is unbelievable! RIP with the angel choir Jussi!
Perfecto, extraordinario.
When questioned about this, Pavarotti graciously commented words to the effect, "There are many tenors, and then there was Bjorling". Maria de los Angeles has said no Bjorling recordings do justice to the timbre of his magnificent voice. Bjorling was truly the best.
Since I came across his voice at age of 20, I had searched for his name to listen to other songs. It took 4 more years since my bro accidentally found his CD on the street in Seoul! Eversince he became my muse whenever sad and pain. He was there with tendor voice valancing rich feelings and gave me great comforts. Thanks for this music:)
I'd say it's Because he wasn't Italian that he became the Greatest. Gigli for instance, probably had as sweet a voice as JB, but his mannerisms {putting tears in his voice} ruined it for me.

No other tenor can come within a million miles of Bjorling. He was the supreme tenor, the mountain top. Bjorling is the greatest tenor who ever lived.
Dont exaggerate

His technique is the best. His vibrato is very unique, this voice is from Heaven, touch my soul ❤
He sounds like an entire Angel Choir❣️
FANTASTIQUEMENT BEAU !!!!!!!
Bjoerling with out question the greatest tenor of all time.
Agreed.
Hermosisima musica.
