The recording matches favorite tenor showpieces with rarer gems by Verdi, Rossini, Donizetti, Meyerbeer, Gounod, and Benjamin Godard. It was in Bordeaux in 2019, and in Donizetti’s Anna Bolena, that Pene Pati - who grew up in New Zealand - made his European debut. A singer of glowing lyricism, he establishes an immediate rapport with his audience and has risen swiftly up the world’s tenor ranks.

I saw him as Nemorino tonight at the S F Opera and could not believe my luck in seeing him in this role! He's just fantastic in so many ways. Exquisite voice, amazing actor, and funny conedien!. Slavka (long last name) sang Amina and was also very very wonderful but there is something about this guy that is really special!!1
I couldn't agree more. We watched the livestream for 3 days running, and I still haven't gotten enough.
Saw him at the SF Opera mantinee on 11/26. He's pretty good with the facial and eye expressions to great comic effect. Great voice and when he started this aria in the performance he started quietly to great effect. Crowd gave hime a great round of applause.

@@anshuecon Pavarotti will always be king. He is unparalleled in complete expression of the whole piece, emotionally and always from the heart, he embodies the character as well as being an immaculate songmaster.
Carrera is vocally admirable, he sings the music score perfectly. But his focus is on the vocal perfection, not the emotive expression.
