@@flygonfiasco9751 not only this, it's ABSOLUTELY encouraged! Genuinely Idc if you succeed masterfully at everything you do, if you've never failed there are important lessons you've never learned. Solutions you never got to think of. It would be the most significant tragedy to get it right everytime, because better than getting something right the first time is failing so completely that if/when you complete it, you've learned and done more than you ever meant to and you get that most satisfying frustration.

Dear other international nerdfighters whose currency isn't as valuable against dollars: crowdfunding donations helps a lot in our case. Brazilian nerdfighters have been doing it for years and we donate collectively and raffle the physical perks we're able to get.
I get that, because of exchange rates and bank taxes and whatnot, sometimes donating like five or ten dollars becomes lot, but, if you get your local nerdfighter friends to contribute, you can help the p4a together, not to mention a sense of local community too.

Obligatory comment that if you're a student and/or not an earning member of society, it's completely okay if you don't donate! You'll be able to do plenty once you have a stable income.

Just gonna say this made me cry, for a variety of reasons but primarily because being told it is OK not to spend money I don't have feels like SUCH a relief...and it's horrendous that such a situation exists in the first place.

Me too, and I just realized why!! Huge ears, giant nose, and giant glasses. We're one mustache away from looking like mr. potato head. Also, all of these features are features of geriatrics, who are also the inspiration for trolls, certain Japanese kaiju, and other grotesque~funny-looking cultural monsters (I'm looking at you clowns). It's almost like a metaphor for someone ridiculous with a lot more power than you.

john, The Anthropocene Reviewed is my favorite bit of content on the entire internet. every episode brings me to tears and eases my anxiety. listening to the episodes over and over again helped me get through each day while breaking off a bad relationship, and helped me fight the urge to continue engaging in said unhealthy relationship. I want to thank you for making TAR, and thank you for sharing your words with us.
I've been looking forward to this video all day because I know how much P4A matters to you. It is always so delightful watching you be enthusiastic about causes you care about.
I guess your enthusiasm has rubbed off because I wait every year to donate when the donations are matched because I want my dollars to go as far as they can. (This is also why I encourage folks to go for the digital perks because they don't cost anything to ship so more money goes to the charities.)

Idea for a P4A perk (I already commented this last week but it's even more fitting now, so I'm repeating it):
John records giving a 5 star rating to a person in your life (so it's basically just an audio clip a few seconds long of him saying "I give [Hank/ my mom / my kids / my best friends X, Y, and Z...] 5 stars").
I think that'd be an absolutely amazing gift and it wouldn't be too much effort to create!
Do it! I would donate to charity for a 5 star rating of something that's actually five stars!
I had to pause the video at "Anthropocene Review vinyl" to investigate.
All it says is "Two episodes of The Anthropocene Reviewed on vinyl, signed by John." Like, which ones? (Some have absolutely made me cry so I'm invested in those)

I'm finally financially able to donate! And I'm so so SO sold on a Vinyl version of The Anthropocene Reviewed - that podcast and Dear Hank and John really really help me when I'm having a bad time with my mental health.

I’m so excited!!! Last year I started a separate savings account just for P4A, and then in December I transferred it all to my checking for my P4A donations. I did the same this year and I for one can not WAIT to drop like 100 bucks so I can have my name written on a magnet. 😂💕

I do love the idea of my kids finding this weird vinal recording of "The Anthropecene Reviewed" in my attic, and listening to it, after which they will wonder what a strange world 2020 must have been, when I tell them I never owned a record player.

I subscribe to the Bazaar Beasts pin club for my son and for his sixth birthday he received his first four pins. When we got the pins we watched all Hanks videos about those animals and I talk to him about Partners for Health and why part of the money for the pins will go to Sierra Leone. He is one of those kids who started asking questions about life and death around the age of 4 (If you don’t have kids I think this is a lot more common than people think). He was very happy to hear the money for his pins would help more Mom’s and babies get to live long lives with each other. 😭 Thank you so much for being good people you guys 💖🕊💖❤️💜💙💛🤍
Hi John, so. A week ago I had a huge panic attack. I tried to calm down, and I watched a video of yours that day and it made me feel a lot of feels about how my mental pain was huge but I also care so much about the others that you and Hank and the PFA helps. I randomly randomly made a video explaining how I felt about people's pain being relevant and how we must just care and empathize and help. You might wanna watch, who knows. It's like, longer than 3 mins so.. whatever but yeah. Everyone in this community seems to be so amazing. It makes me glad to know there are others that care as deeply as I do. I appreciate the reminder of others' struggle, it keeps me humble even in my darkest moments. I also give myself kindness though because I really would never make anyone feel as I did last week. You and Hank are fabulous, I have been a proud nerdfighter for about 8 years and love it. 💕🙇💞❤️💕💞 Kudos and best regards and love to everyone.

Dear John, when I saw the picture of you as a cat, I couldn't help but imagine you looking at Ashe with the "I can't believe you are making us do this" face whilst Hank is enjoying every second of his "funny faces with John that I can use against him in the future" and begging Ashe to not stop the photoshoot yet.
God I've finally found what made John feel so intense all the time : he NEVER blinks, and he NEVER breathes !!! (sorry I'm quite new to this channel) But no worries John, all it does is make you sound real passionate :D
Its all because of the "four minute rule" that has been around for a long time. John has once said that they take up too much time to be included.

Today I learned that "transmogrify" wasn't a word invented by Bill Watterson ('s character Calvin).
It definitely doesn't sound like a word coined in the 1650s.
@Kaumudi H I learned this "comma before the word "too" thing" by reading Calvin and Hobbes comments in the English original. Still not sure if a comma is always needed, though.

If you move, you can email them to give them your new address. I had to do this last year and while there was a delay getting my perk, it did come to the correct address
