Brilliant! It worked. Usually these short videos only half work or don't work at all! I really needed some reverb effects for my Hydrasynth and was about to get a Big Sky but thought I would try this first and it worked!!!! Liked and subbed!
Yes! Saw the username “Videodaze” and thought, hmmmm Video Days!? Researching whether to buy an MPC One so stoked to see a familiar face (or hands) with some tech advice!
@VideoDaze thank you, all your help and advice it's massively appreciated. Yeah, I might just do that. Quick question, I do have patterns (tunes) I've already made on my xoxbox can I somehow send them over back to the MPC and record them?
No worries! Ok .. Sample mode, set the sample to input one, hit record then play the mpc, it should just record the xox. You can record a few bars this way. Or in song mode, create a song, export song as a long pattern, set sample mode to resample then record the whole track with the tweaks etc. Or record and arrange in grid view after exporting song to one long pattern. Hope that makes sense
@VideoDaze thank you. The issue doing it in sample mode I don't know the bpm of the xoxbox (no display to show me). Is it possible to send the notes over via midi from xoxbox to MPC and have it synced and record them in then swap over it back over so the MPC can be the master controller again? If the xoxbox had a bpm display then it wouldn't be so much of an issue, worse case I could go off the flash of the led (xox) and time it with the click on the MPC?
Great tutorial, mate! Wish tutorials like this would have existed when I started out...I mean there were forums and myspace groups and stuff but nobody had a clue, really! Struggled weeks to find out how to sync my TB-303 to the Elektron Machine Drum...like Din Sync to Midi...that was a pain, let me tell you🤣
It's a bit cringe but it might help someone. Yeah pre TH-cam or even pre internet it must have been tough. I remember looking into making electronic music in the 90s and it was all just impossibly expensive and baffling to me
@@VideoDaze exactly...crazy, right? I had like a huge pile of synth magazines...I even went to the library once to see if they had any books on synthesizers and electronic music and stuff (no, of course they didn't🤣)
hello, maybe you can help me. I have my TD3 in sync with my MPC One and recevies clock. When I press play both machines start. All good. But when I try to record MIDI, I can't record it because I only hear the sequence from the TD3. I see the MIDI signal and the notes, but I can't hear it. Even if a delete the sequence in the TD3. What I am doing wrong?
You're trying to record midi from the td-3 sequence to the mpc? You'll need another midi cable going out of the td-3 to the mpc. Have I understood what you're trying? Or are you trying to record notes from the mpc to the td3?
For your other video, were you sending MIDI notes from the MPC to the TD-3? Or were you using the TD-3's internal sequencer? I can do the former, but I don't know how to do the latter. I was wondering if it is possible to use the internal sequencer of the TD-3, but only receive the tempo from the MPC.
Hi yes in the other video I was just sending clock (tempo) from the MPC to the TD -3. Midi setup is the same, (+make sure TD-3 is in midi mode). When you hit play on the mpc it should trigger the TD -3 as well. Let me know if it works for you
@@VideoDaze So I got it to work! The issue was in Synthtribe. I had to change the clock source from MIDI DIN to MIDI USB. I also changed some of the MIDI/Sync settings under preferences. Thanks!
@@VideoDaze For some reason when I try to mute the TD-3 track, it still keeps playing. But I can still mute my Minitaur and Subsequent 25 tracks just fine. Any ideas?
@@georgew.8442 sorry just seen this. I think it would only mute if you used the pads to play the notes rather than using a TD-3 sequence. Pad mutes would just affect the midi you're sending, not the audio. If that makes sense.
Perfect, to the point and straight forward!
Thanks man, learning about that audio input tab blew my mind, I've been using the sampler forever,
this will make using my Akai S1100 so much easier
Nice! Yes I just wish there were 2!

Good to hear thanks

Dude! That's funny af. How are you? I was thinking of doing a mpc one review so maybe I will do now. N26 is a bit dead innit
Thanks, your video helped me a lot 👍
Good to know! Thanks
Fantastic video
Hope it was useful
Yay!!
I was looking for this mate thanks
Cool glad it helped
Recently, I discovered you can apply FX to the input. Now my TD-3 is sounding proper.
Wish MIDI defaulted to MPC (DUH!)
I don't know how to use a MIDI keyboard with the VST syths - without it triggering samples in programs. Do you have this problem?
Yeah? Didn't know that! I'll have to give that a go
I only have a usb keyboard and that worked fine when I tried it, does yours have USB?

Finally working for me with my Xoxbox. Thank you!
Nice! Good to hear. You can add MPC effects to the input channel as well. Same way you would with a sample. Post some xoxbox vids?

That's assuming you are doing the drums etc on the MPC

You need a midi interface yes, I haven't tried it though
