Cheer man! I grew up in the area and never knew about until the last few years and have been there a couple times now, thanks for sharing your experience!
@@AdventuresNearby it's old and falling down too. Up above road about 1/2 mile off hardtop at St Margretts Bay. Lot of eagles and moose around there be careful on bike. All that area is beautiful
Kent is who was coming from the US to build this. The gentleman was older and building for his wife. Last time he was here people stole his tools and supplies, then covid happened so he couldn't come back. The trail looks a bit more overgrown since we were there.
Nice to see that it’s relatively easy to get to. Previous videos I have watched about this castle were either the ATV or Overlanding crowd and they must have gone in from a different direction. I’ll have to add it to my list of places to visit. Cheers.
It is. You have to be prepared for the base of the hill it's not big bike friendly or novice friendly. It was a pin it and hope! The hill is steep and crowded
At the 6:18 point on the vid, you can see a trail to the right. thats the continuation of the 436 trail, which is the worst trail on earth. From that point on, the 436 is horrible. Thats probably the direction you saw people coming from in other vids. The castle is very accessable from the warwick mtn rd, then turning up the 104 trail towards Johnston lake, which is about 1 km below the north shore snowmobile club, which transitions to the 436 trail. Take that route in and back.
@crystalheartstar You would get there in a jeep that's not afraid of being scratched by low hanging branches . I've heard it was owned by an American or German. Who did die and no family has claimed it. The property is left in such a state that it's consistent with 20 years abandoned...ish?
@@AdventuresNearby I found some info online yesterday about the construction. The man who built it was named Ed Kent, and the property was his family's and had been for generations. He lived in Idaho but came in the summer to work on it, and while he worked on it, he lived in the shipping container. He worked on it for ten summers, and sadly passed away before it was finished I have a friend who has a Jeep and she's not afraid of mud or branches.
Castle Wolfenstein on a budget. Thanks for the video!!
What fun! Thanks for the adventure. ❤
Bin there, done that. Very interesting

What a lovely offroad ride. And the abandoned little castle was well worth the trip.

There ya go man, glad you made it in there.
Jamie, this is a terrific video. Jackie and I will take the side by side up soon. Loved the drone shots of Pugwash and Wallace.
