- The PS2 slim has a number of improvements over the original design. It's sleek, compact, and easy to service with a laser that's straightforward to replace. Normally, the interlaced video on the PS2 can look bad on a modern display, and certain games can also appear too dark if they are not played on a CRT. On this week's Fix it Friday, we upgrade the PS2 with PixelFX's latest mod, the Retro Gem! This mod provides the best possible video and audio from the PS2 through HDMI, with resolutions as high as 1440p.

NICEEE Thank you so much for doing this for my PS2. You're truly the best and most careful at what you do. Now I understand the piece you didn't have to do the other one! You didn't want to make cuts to the shell without it. Also do some PS2 Slim's just not have a modem? I wasn't sure if mine just surprised you. Sorry you had to make some tweaks (more like replacements) but I hope she will be running better than ever for a long time now.
Oh! I noticed the systems clock got fixed....was this mine or was this someone else's with a working clock 🤣

Thanks for the video, very informative but seems to be missing a section where you solder the 3.3v, 22:31 it's just 10 seconds of blank screen

Great video as always George, definitely considering having this done to a few consoles. A piece of feedback as a returning customer, is there any way that you can just disable the add to cart button when pausing orders? There’s been a few times I’ve wanted to check prices on install services and am unable to see those when you’re pausing orders. Even a simple list of services with prices on the paused orders landing page would be great.
I’ll see what I can do about adding services on the paused page. I should be reopening very soon though, so that is good at least
I am getting vertical flickering on a 55" OLED and 27" LCD, which maybe looks like bob deinterlacing. Have you experienced that? The effect is so pronounced that gaming is a bit of a challenge
Would love to see you do the Gusse hard drive mod on this PS2 Slim.

I know it’s a bit much to ask, but you don’t happen to have a display of 55-75 inches do you? Biggest I have is 60 and I’ve always wondered how these handle. I use a retrotink 5x pro and while house sitting for my parents I used their 80 inch LG TV, the 5X Pro could barely handle it haha! I definitely need the 4K retrotink for displays this large, I wonder what it would cost to get a retrogem installed for me by a pro in my ps2 phat? Who knows😅 Merry Christmas!!
The display size should not matter - I have used it on larger displays without any issues

Not yet but there are plans to add a flex cable for the 90000
