Wow. Thank you for creating this video. It was perfect. I recently became a RBT and desire to become a BCBA. The information you’ve shared has opened my eyes on how to maximize on my RBT skill sets while on the journey to becoming a BCBA. God bless you! 💕
Glad it was helpful! I hope you’re loving your RBT experience so far. Please don’t hesitate to ask question and continue to share your journey with us. 🥰🥰
Yes ma’am I am enjoying my RBT experience thus far. My favorite thing is how practical ABA principles are and how it can be applied to various areas of life. Thank you for welcoming questions I may have. Your wisdom/expertise as it pertains to this field is needed.
I have just started watching your videos and you do a great job explaining things. I am very interested in being RBT, for young children. Thank you for your videos. I do have one question, what are the pros and cons for being a RBT. Thanks so much and have a great day!
Dom, the topic and content were great, as usual! The only problem with these revenue streams is that most overlap due to being offered during school hours, and depending on the size of the district, you would have dual roles within the district. another concern is that these jobs do not allow the RBT to use their knowledge and skills concerning ABA. Many of the skills are transferable, but it becomes a scope violation if you do the interventions without plans and permissions. The main goal of multiple revenue streams is to use one skill or training in multiple ways which bring in different sources of money, while not working various jobs.
Thank you and I receive your feedback. The goal was not to highlight ‘How to earn multiple RBT roles’, but other jobs that the skills set of an RBT can be applied to. We definitely wouldn’t want them practicing ABA without plans or permission. But there are some best practices that just comes along with time as an RBT that can help someone stand out in life. Thanks again for your comment
I’m currently an RBT, working towards BCBA (finish up coursework this year December 2024). However, I plan to start back studying for myself to take the licensure exam to become a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (already have accredited degree since 2022). Im so excited to start back studying ❤️❤️
I literally just finished my 40 hours an hour ago.... I created a BCBA account and printed my certificate. Please what's next? Do I go and get my background done now? Please help. Im a single mom of 4 ( one at Howard and we know that aint cheap) I really want to make more to provide for my kids more. Any help is appreciated.
You need to take your RBT Exam Next. Search on google "Schedule RBT Exam" once you find a center to take it you have to pay a fee for the exam. When you take your exam and pass it you will become certified and then you can apply for RBT Jobs
Within 180 days of paying for and applying for your RBT certification application you will have to take the criminal background check and then your BCBA supervisor or agency will confirm that you have taken and passed the criminal background check as a part of the application process. I know it sounds complicated, but it sounds like you’re almost there. Here’s a copy of the handbook. I hope it helps. www.bacb.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/RBTHandbook_240925-a.pdf
Both! I’ve worked in group homes and I utilize so much ABA before I even knew what it was. I’ve never been a personal assistant, but I’m a mom and I use ABA techniques to schedule appointments, play data and help my children meet their goals.
Some of my favorite BCBAs are males and I know tons a families who specifically looked for mail Bcba because they want a mail to work with their son. So is this a predominantly female field yes! but does this field need more men absolutely.

Like to be a personal assistant or work in a group home?

Do you see male BCBA's or is it mostly a female career job?
