I like your work VERY much. I feel envy for you, for to know and to be able to work on such amazing monsters. I'm not a big Porsche guy but I can recognize those are special machines and always interesting watching people working on them. Congratulations. Keep going, keep uploading content like this. There will be always petrolheads happy to watch it. By the way, if you accept an advice of a watcher, could you put subtitles or text inserts with a little explain of what are you doing, during the video? I think that could help people like me, with just a little mechanics knowledge. Greetings from Spain!! 😊🤘🫵👍👍👍
hey man am looking for some assistance on puting the the chain on yea am using the cam lock but do the gears have to line up when you putting it back together ? i would geatly appreciate it if you could assist me
Hi. Good video. I have a porsche macan and want to change crankshaft rear seal. But I dont know how to press on the crankshaft in correct position magnet disc. Can you help me?
What was the problem? Leaking front crank seal? Broken chain guide? Instead of buying a new 3/4 to 1/2" adapter, wouldn't it make sense to buy a 3/4 socket in the right size? What is it, 24, 27mm? It wouldn't have to be impact.
That’s a great question. It’s been a while since I’ve done one but the timing cover bolts break causing the leak. As far as the socket goes, I think it’s because no one in the shop actually owned a 3/4” torque wrench. Idk why but everyone in the shop did it that way with an adapter
@5:00 When I do these types of job, I lean that holding tool against the enginestand or floor and tourque from the right side downwards. If I cant turn the crank I just torque it about 100Nm (73lbft) and torque it to right specs later. Is it the same torquespecs as audi engine? 150Nm (110lbft) and 180 degree?
What work service was done and how many hours did the book quote for something like this vs actual hours worked? Curious as a home wrencher and Ex BMW salesperson
Very impressive skills!! By the way, I was wondering, I'm currently an Audi Tech and was considering to work for Porsche. Is it worth the switch? They will pay me more, but looks like the hours are less. How many warranty hours is that job?
@@fromisheon4867 90% of those jobs are warranty which is about half of the customer pay rate. I did enough of them to make the warranty time which was 25-27 hours. Made it nice when I got a customer pay job
But what about using the straight edge to make sure the timing cover is level at the bottom!!!!! My second month in I had to rip a head off a turbo cayenne engine.... It's wasn't fun lol
I think their logic is if it's even at the bottom then it's even at the top... Which means the inverse is the same. They still made my Rip the oil pan off. I know right! Next month I head to ATL for my first class. I'm way behind on my bronze book i have to catch the paper work up
this job was performed 100% to Porsches warranty requirements at the time. If I remember correctly is was around 18-25 hours. What is that job paying now?
@@JoshShare So you would have stayed otherwise or it was a temporary move to gain experience. I only ask because I have a offer for Porsche but I’m not sure if I want to deal with “High Line dealerships” seems like it would be more stressful than regular dealerships.
Bro, thats just remove and re-installed. I worked for porsche and people look that job like its hard. Remember most work on porsche is engine out. You just did a timing chain cover reseal. Not impressed at all

What was the job that you did on the motor? I could see that you spent a fair amount of time cleaning the timing chain cover.
You are such a wonderful and brilliant technician. Keep doing what you are doing and have fun homie! Seriously, you got the vision!
Appreciate the kind words!
It’s been a long time since I watched a TH-cam vid from beginning to end. That was awsome
Appreciate the comment and support!

Watching this again now that I’ve taken one apart and was surprised on just how easy timing the motor is. Group engines on the other hand.....
The workshop manual helps a lot! Once you get one or two under your belt they get much easier
Dude I wonder if this Porsche shop is in Colorado! I am in CO and a new Cayenne owner. Would love to have my vehicle serviced here if need be ever.
How many hours did it pay, and how much time did you actually work on it from start to finish... if you remember
Was all that work for a timing chain? Nice job!
Just a reseal on the timing cover 👍🏼

Yes it is
Hope to see more of these josh👨🔧👍👌😁
Once I’m working again I will for sure 👍🏼

Amazing content, sir!
Thanks! Stay tuned for more!

What courses you complete to work for Porsche....
Just apply to a Porsche dealership. Cross your fingers and hope you get lucky. They’ll train you the rest of the way

Hey, question, I'm not in the states, is there any website where I can basic modules for audi engines /tech? Ad courses etc
So technicians check up the car and that it performance for the consumer? B/c I want to be like a mechanic or something that I can put 1000 HP in car
Hey at Porsche are you a flat rate technician or hourly?
Flat rate
Good job bro
Thank you!
Do you make flat rate?
All the time 👍🏼
@@JoshShare Did you accomplish that job in book time?

Haw many time doit ??
Nice
Thanks!
Do Porsche tech flags??
Yes we do
But what about using the straight edge to make sure the timing cover is level at the bottom!!!!! My second month in I had to rip a head off a turbo cayenne engine.... It's wasn't fun lol
I’ll have to double check the work shop manual but the biggest concern is making sure it’s even where the cover meets the cylinder heads
And what’s up buddy?! Kind of ironic we both ended up at Porsche lol

My bronze book is almost done. I go to California next week to do P000 and P001 back to back.. so I’ll be bronze by May hopefully
How can I email you bro?
Timing cover screw broken...🥴
Who designed gear shift cable....lol😀
That 180 degree is a back breaker😐😐😐
Bro are you working in Porsche Centre? You are not following workshop manual 😂😂😂
This is why warranty isn’t paying up for the full job anymore…..
