    The most desirable football boots these days tend to be the most expensive ones, but why? Do we as consumers truly believe that we need them to play better? Are they actually helping us? Or have we lost sight of what we actually "need" from a pair of football boots? What is the difference between "want" and "need"?
    In today's video we take a closer look at the new Pure Platinum colorway of the Nike Premier 3, the $110 budget friendly option from Nike, that i would argue offers everything you "need" from a pair of football boots, at a much lower price than the most desirable options. I know they don't have the same look as the more popular stuff, and many would assume that they don't perform as well either, but is that actually true? We discuss that, along with why these are such great value for money, ultimately concluding whether or not you actually need to be spending upwards of $300 on a pair of football boots. Something to think about.

    I love this boot, but I do have one complaint. I wish the sole plate was thicker or made out of a different material because I feel like stud pressure (especially on harder surfaces) is an issue. Again, it isn't a deal breaker. I love the boots. One of my favorites. But, if I had to complain, I really wish they would do something to address the stud pressure.

    Stud pressure is an issue with these. if a consumer is in the market for a budget pair of boots, it's because they most likely will use them in below average pitches that are harder and less maintained and wear these boots in a reckless way. i feel like the premiers are only in its elite form on very nice, softer pitches where you can't really complain at all. 110 for stud pressure is pretty expensive in my opinion, and a very easy fix for a brand like Nike.

When you first reviewed the Premier 1, you said that the boot runs a half size small so you chose to use a US 9.5 which was perfect for you. Now, when you review the Nike Premier 3, you still chose a US 9.5 but now you state in the video that it runs true to size. Was there a change in the shoe last or tooling of the Nike Premier from 1 to 3 that now a US 9.5 is true to size wherein previously it was a half size small?

      The elites are the "better" boots if you can cough up the extra money; however the difference in actual comfort and performance is not huge. You are paying a lot more for only a little gain. I prefer the sole plate comfort of the Tiempos (get some stud pressure on the Premiers), and I think the upper is tied--no clear winner there. I prefer the free/detached tongue on the Premiers vs the 1 piece on the tiempos. Biggest issue for me is the stud pressure, but its not an issue for everyone. I am a bigger guy so that probably doesn't help matters....but the sole plate is for sure more flimsy on the NP3.

      @@bramdronkert3970 I hear ya on the durability. Been wearing the premier 3’s for a about a month. The leather on My left toe box area is scratched from battles of turf field, right foot is looks untouched; that could just be me though.
      Other than that Theyr solid cleats.
      Reason i like these is bc of the conical studs which are the same as AG studs.
      They did take a while to break in though.

      I got the Tiempo 9 Pro FG and the Premier 2 with SG-Pro anti-clog sole plate. The Premier is ever so slightly more comfortable to me, but the Tiempo is sleeker and feels more modern concerning lockdown. Soleplates are difficult to compare (FG vs stiffer SG), but the Tiempo soleplate is very nice overall whereas the Premier FG soleplate seems to be the downside of the boot with more stud pressure and less responsiveness.
      I'd always go for the Tiempo 9 Pro, it is fantastic. On the other hand, in Germany I can get the Premiers sometimes for 30-40€, which is an unbeatable bargain

      TF version are my favorite turfs. Especially nice if you have a wider than average/high volume foot type. Only thing that is a minor nuisance is the tongue, which you can cut off if you choose. I have worn the premier 2 on AG fields and they work well as far as traction but the leather does suffer scratches and eventually peel a bit on the toe. That was the case on my boots.

    • @wtfx5757
      @wtfx5757 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Durability will take a hit. They aren't designed for it. Id fear for the leather against the abrasive AG surface...will wear much quicker and you may get a hole in it sooner. Also, more likely, you may run into issues with the sole plate coming detached from the upper. Its a flimsy soleplate and AG surfaces tend to heat up. This sole plate is also not designed with the front lip Nike extends at the toe to help with sole separation. Nothing wrong with the stud pattern for AG though....its just a risk to durability.

    • @wtfx5757
      @wtfx5757 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@erikocampo7207 horrible recommendation. So uncomfortable. The .3 is far more comfortable than the .2. For my wide foot the .3 laceless was even better than the .2...but all the edge predators suck comparatively. For wide feet, you want these nike premier 3s, Copa mundials, nike Tiempo legend 9 elite/pro, or possibly the new balance furons in the wide variations. If you foot isn't super wide, but wider than average, you may also want to look at the Puma Ultra line.

      No, the Tiempo 9 Pro is a better, more modern, more responsive and sleeker boot with a slightly better lockdown, but if you consider that you can get Premier 2 or 3 sometimes for 30-40€, they are a better value. Overall, they are relatively similar, but the outsole is definitely better on the Tiempo

    Leather boots, mostly Kangaroo leather will always be king. Manufacturers forced the synthetics on us due to lower production costs, and as a result have been making huge profits by also raising prices. Of course some of the synthetic colors appeal to the younger crowds. However consumer did not ask for this. I will never wear a synthetic boot. Leather will always be superior. Now manufacturers are trying to dupe the consumer by only putting only leather on the forefoot and placing synthetics on the rest of the boot. This is a complete sham, and they market it as if the performance of the boots will be great with just the leather forefoot. 🤦🏻‍♂️
