I remember passing through here on a college trip once. Back then I used to be a bit scared of elevators. I actually ended up being separated from the others when going up in the lift and when we came out the other end, I discovered that they'd all been up the stairs.
It is a Wadsworth lift ( Bolton UK ) lift installed in early 1980's common at most lift only stations untill recent replacements and refurbs , refurb by accord lifts in mid2010's.3 lifts in same shaft with doors linking to another lift in event of becoming stalled in it
