Try vater surfing and then base jumping once you're at the mantainence clearing at the top of the tower. We did that once, but we arranged it for entertainment of the public. We used one of the pnuematic corner elevators so people could see us. We had parachutes, harnesses, helmets, goggles the whole nine yards. we rode all the way up to the 110th floor and then lept out the mantainence clearing deploying our chutes. They were kind enough to leave it open for us for this event. This is definitely something that should only be done by professional and veteran surfers. Most people should just ride the high speed elevators inside, safe and still fun.

My brother has a friend that works on lifts for almost 20 years. He helped the fire department get out two lads that were really mangled doing this. The lads were 15 and 18. The brother of one said they have done this since the 6th grade.
The guy is an electrician now. No more lifts for he or the boys.

It's a different type of person that can find joy in this activity. It's the type of person that would find me to be quite dull by comparison. I get a thrill from a new restaurant this would be too far off the charts for me.

i believe i surfed the same lift, its the tower in south quay, no idea of the name but awesome surf someone sent the lift to the top and i stopped it before it got there and uh oh.

I don't believe that you have surfed this lift. If you had surfed it you would know that it has at least 4 meters of overrun space at the top of the shaft.

@@lollol6812 With Kone Ecodiscs, there is the sync to phase jolt when the lift starts moving on inspection. If the lift jolts upwards at the top of the shaft, there is a risk of it overrunning. If it does it once it is usually fine, but if your fingers slip off the buttons as it does this, if on the second attempt it also jolts upwards, then it can hit the overrun switch attached to the car top. Also putting a lift on inspection while inspection hasn't been verified to work is a bad idea if you are not in a position where you can reach a roller. Also, just purely as a precautionary thing, I do not allow the lift to go to the top if it has just completed a finding position movement, or is in the process of doing it. So for a full speed where it may go to the top, I get on the lift while the doors are already open, so the lift hasn't detected me. Although I do not recommend that any copies me in doing this, as this method is unsafe for a beginner, as you have not verified that you can take control of the lift.

@@benolifts I always verify inspection works before I let it go full speed or stepping ontop. I’ve only had one occasion where inspection didn’t work at all and I got off immediately. As for full speed I will always have my hand on the inspection switch incase of the need to stop the lift like when reaching the top. As for eco discs I do notice the jolt before it starts going down it goes upwards slightly. Incase of an overrun I do not like being ontop at the top floor. I’ve had once when I got off an eco disc and when I did get off after it found it’s position again it had overran the top floor maybe 5cm? and did not move, however I had access to the cabinet so I could reset it.

I just don’t understand. I get thrills, but how do you value your life so little? You only get one and I think people forget that. Didn’t make it long enough to have children and see them grow because you wanted to ride on top of an elevator. To each their own, just lawless and stupid.
