      Apparently you're oblivious to irony.

I am unsure how to get there so I'm listening to you closely. BUT the only way to maintain democracy is for the workers to own their work en masse.

Sorry, that does not guarantee democracy either. You can just end up with social groups vying for political power, bribing each other and offering favoritism to their preferred demographic all the same as capitalism.
Economic model choice has nearly zero effect on politics and even on general citizen prosperity in general.
Or problems are not caused by capitalism and the solution is not socialism. Capitalism and socialism are both irrelevant theory labels we pretend to follow.
The only thing that establishes and maintains democracy is for society collectively to value benevolent democratic representation in leadership.
To elevate benevolent people into positions of power, participate in the representative democracy, and actively enforce leadership make decisions based on collective prosperity.
The only real economy is regulated capital investment, combined with social production/services, an option for worker ownership of production, and some government run industry. A mixed economy where the benevolent democratic representatives make industry decisions based on the practical reality of each industry, for the common prosperity benefit of ALL citizens.
Democracy first, economic model second. No economic model will create democracy. If you are a socialism fan, install a benevolent democratic government then petition them to support socialist worker collective production. Will not work the other way around.

Or to put it another shorter way.
Democratic nations tend to have more socialism.
But socialist nations do not have more democracy.
The democracy needs to come first.

@@5353Jumper Name for me a "socialist country" for an example.

    • @5353Jumper

@@vivalaleta there are none and I hope there never are.
Firstly socialism requires democracy as a central point so all the dictatorships that labeled themselves "socialist" were lying propagandists.
Second most of the NW European countries have flirted with socialism from time to time, but they embraced more of a mixed economy model.
But as examples Finland, Sweden, Norway have all had times with relatively strong genuine democracy and in those times their mixed economies swung to include a bit more socialism.
But the reality is that socialism, like capitalism and communism is a terrible system if a country forms some artificial loyalty towards it. Flag waiving any one economic model vs another always causes corruption and inefficiency.

Aaron was insufferable on that Novaro podcast episode... he barely let you get a word out. I quite like some of his other episodes so it was bizarre to see how he treated you there. I only stayed to watch that episode because I was interested in your words, Roger. I've been interested in a revolution for some years now - over a decade. Perhaps things needed to get this much worse in order to garner the proper support needed for a revolution. I will continue to do work on my end to facilitate this... godspeed to all of us revolutionists.

Hey Roger, I vastly appreciate your analysis however I feel as though your caricature of horizontalist movements being inherently anti-leader or unable to coordinate being inaccurate. We need to coordinate leaderful movements and learn to make decisions democratically.
