Love the Nick on Nick skits. It's like Gamer Nick vs Douche Nick. I want to tell Douche Nick to stop pigeon holing everything and just let people enjoy whatever game they want, but Gamer Nick took care of it for me. Thanks Nicks!

I like it a lot. Haven't played it yet solo with the expansion, but I already own it, so it will come out soon Lord Willing!

I love it. Check out Onirim, Castellion and Sylvion. They are strictly solo with a 2 player variant, but solo is super solid. They have a win/lose condition which is tough to win. Plus they all come with expansions to add in as you like to make the games even tougher.

I agree with your gripes about the initiative phase. When playing solo I almost never miss on my attributes or backstory because I always get first dibs on the dice. One thing to try doing to counter that is to simulate a second person during the initiative phase. Every other turn, roll one die and on a 1-2, remove the first initative card; on a 3-4, remove the second initative card; on a 5-6, remove the last initiative card. This will make it a little harder to reach your dice goals

Great video as always! Feast for Odin has a very interesting solo mode, but it isn't win or lose. Interesting way of solo worker placement though, no "dummy player", you're actually blocking yourself turn to turn.

Never tried it solo, but love it multi-player. It's such a classy game. Shame the solo sounds a bit like there's no challenge. Thanks Nick! Have a good one!

Small rule clarification: It's my understanding that those initial market cards that are discarded form the starting discard pile. Some abilities let you search the discard pile and could be used to get those cards. Not a huge deal either way, but it sounds like one that's commonly missed.

Great overview! I'm with you about the expansion: it's great and I probably won't play without it again, but it's not essential. Some pros: it gives you another option (hunting) during a turn, and the higher numbered dice can make it easier to reach your attribute goals; Cons: the colorless dice can also make completing your backstory harder as well as collecting your own color dice non-existent. Those points you would have scored there are made up by beating on the monster though. BTW, missing that original intro :)
