  • If you are BRAND NEW to the iPad OR if you just want to review the basics, then this is the video for you. I've just bought a BRAND NEW 12.9" iPad Pro. We're going to crack it out and go through the most important settings. It's a 23 minute video, so I'm really focusing on just the most important features. I'm also going to teach you the most important multi-touch gestures, and more! Enjoy!!
    LINKS TO STUFF I TALKED ABOUT:
    My Favorite Multi-Charge Cable (USB-C, USB-A, Lighting) amzn.to/3wmjnIL
    Magic Keyboard: amzn.to/3N2wlSA
    Table Of Contents
    00:00 Introduction
    01:08 Meet the Buttons
    01:29 Initial Setup Process
    06:47 The Most Important iPad Settings
    16:37 How To Use Widgets & A Few Favorites
    17:49 Deleting Apps/Remove Apps
    18:20 Grouping Apps Into Folders
    18:37 Most Important Multi-Touch Gestures
    19:23 Side By Side Mode
    20:04 Control Center
    21:09 Copy and Paste
    21:29 Important Feature: How to Undo!
    21:41 Two Of My Favorite iPad Accessories
    It has been YEARS since I created a New to iPad class. So much has changed over the years that I felt it was time to update my tutorial. It's always a challenge to decide what features to cover, and which ones can be skipped. My goal with this video was to highlight the most important settings/features. No fluff. If you are brand new to the iPad or if you're thinking about buying one, this guide is sure to help.
    A Note To Those Of You Who Actually Read The Description:
    I actually wanted to make this video a lot longer and go deeper into several topics. Unfortunately, my carpal tunnel has made it extremely difficult and painful to create long-form content in a timely manner. Thanks for understanding 🙏🏼

    If you or someone you know needs to learn the basics of using an iPad, then be sure to watch/share my latest video. It's 23 minutes (no fluff) and in that time, I'm going to open a brand new iPad Pro, walk you through the entire setup process, cover the most important settings, multi-touch gestures, and more.

    Dude, thanks so much for this. I’ve seen far too many videos solely saying how the “new iPad isn’t worth it,” and coming from never having an iPad before, this is amazing, I appreciate this video !

    Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!! I recently purchased an I Pad and I find it so intimidating that I never used it.. I tried to get a tech at the Apple Store where I bought it to teach me how to use it but he pretty much showed me how to turn it on and off and how to scroll.

    David hi, thank you for this tutorial. I really underuse my iPad for what it cost this is a big help to get more ROI . So your well explained tips and tricks are a big help to us Apple owners love the kit but I am one who has not kept pace with updates.
    Please consider when filming your iPad Pro under your camera could it be a bit closer framed. Even with your added onscreen ➡️ pointers and great commentary there are just some items of sub text that is just a little hard to read even viewing on an iPad on full screen video mode. But it is not a deal breaker as you have lots to do making a video as good as these.
    Cheers & Thanks from the UK.

    Well done. I just received the IPad Pro 11” 4th gen, my last was a 2018 iPad Pro 11”. When the screen came up I was thinking to self, “What the real hell, it’s all different & I don’t have time to play, I need quick & to the point info.” Post haste to a Utube tutorial. It’s perfect. I realize we all have starting points but it’s frustrating to have all kinds of wordy crap for the simplest things we learned a.long.time.ago! Like when you buy a new tool & have 22 pages of SAFETY, WARRANTY, DESCRIPTION OF WIRING, DANGER DANGER for: PERSONAL & ENVIRONMENTAL & FOR “THE PROTECTION OF THE CHILDREN” before they even tell you how to turn the effing thing on! All good, I feel better now. I hope your videos are all as well done, easy to understand & right to the important points as this one. I subscribed!

    Hi David, thanks for an excellent introduction to the iPad. Regarding accessories, one thing which was not covered in your video is that of screen protectors and the Apple Pencil. When using the Apple Pencil with art programmes like Procreate on the iPad, would you recommend using a screen protector? Or do you feel these are unnecessary?

    • @JJFlores197
      @JJFlores197 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It depends on the external keyboard in question. If it uses Bluetooth (which most do), you'll need to put the keyboard in pairing mode (refer to its owner's manual) and then go to the iPad Settings>Bluetooth>search for the keyboard name, tap on it, and enter in the code displayed on the iPad into the keyboard.

    • @JJFlores197
      @JJFlores197 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's because Apple likes to think different. Something as simple as plugging in an external hard drive has to be more complex because they want to make it that way. I always found it hilarious that Apple touted the iPad as a laptop replacement device. Sure, it can do a lot of stuff, but simple stuff like even being able to have a file manager was too much for Apple until around 2017 when they finally introduced a rudimentary file manager.

      It depends on your use case. The vast majority of people will not take advantage of the power and capabilities of an iPad Pro. If you need a lot of computational power, then yes, go for the Pro. If not, save your money and buy a 'lower' end iPad model.

    I just followed your Full Tutorial. Please add this. When setting up iPad, complete the finger print or face recognition AND enter a code. My problem was not understanding the importance of this code. I have codes for everything and I decided to wait on this particular code, so I skipped it to complete later. Big mistake. I enter my wifi, and other items. Then I turned the iPad off completely, not in sleep mode but off completely. Big mistake. Turn back on and it asks for finger print AND a code (which I didn't do). My iPad was dead to me. Called Apple Support. The iPad needed to be restored. I took it to the Apple Store and they restored it for free. Please discuss the CODE section a little better.
