Thanks for the help man. Just some feedback, a few mentioned the louder audio (this is true) should lower it so we can hear you and also keep your playback in normal, lastly, people really appreciate when you link the items/tools you use in the description. Just a few tips, thanks!
If you have soldering skills, you should be able to do this with no issues. But most vehicles have little bulbs where you just replace with a twist lol
Thanks, Sir for doing this video. Will definitely get the leds and soldering kit you've mentioned. Don't mind the other lazy people's comments. Just read people infos there
Nice video I had been looking for some shots of the back of the instrument cluster particularly the stock Optitrion cluster. If I’m not mistaken they don’t use them anymore, the lights on the new clusters don’t seem as nice.
I've been trying to buy another instrument cluster speedometer just because these LED lights are so hard to fund. Thank you for the link I swear I was looking for hours/days. Only have one light out check engine and I need it to pass a smog in Cali. Problem is that no one will do it or has any help so I'm gonna have to do it myself. Bought a bunch of sample circuits. What solder metal do I need for this?
Glad to hear this helps! Sorry for the poor quality of this video. Here's a link of the solder I used www.amazon.com/dp/B06XZ31W3M/ref=cm_sw_r_u_apa_i_.8J.FbD4ZRWJ7?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
So I tried this out and thankfully all the lights are working, but they are still amber color. The lcd behind the odometer changed. Speedometer and rpm still amber color. What am I missing?
Thanks for the reply. I changed all the lights you changed in the video. The speedometer for example, I changed the three lights around the pin that holds the needle. After putting everything back together the needle is brighter and at the end I can see the light that projects out is now white. But all of the numbers are still amber. Any thoughts on why that may be?
@@adlydiab1001 if you replace all light around the needle then they should have changed. There's a clear plastic piece that distribute the light from the needle lights that you can check too. But ideally if you change all of the needle lights then the numbers should be the same color as well.
Great video.. question tho... My Diff Lock Indicator light doesnt light up .. will these LEDs replace those indicators also.. eg. check engine, DiffLock, 4Lo, ABS, Etc. indicators or is this only for Speedometer, RPM, Fuel etc.
This was my first ever TH-cam video and I filmed it on my gopro. I apologize about the poor quality of this footage. Feel free to ask any questions tho. Thanks.
Hey Jake, You can get the LED lights here, 20 pieces of PLCC-2 Surface Mount LEDs, 3528 Size SMD SMT LED - Cool White www.amazon.com/dp/B01ETCT28A/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_HA14DbSHW1DMM

Yes, will remember that on my next project. Thanks and hopefully this video helped you out!
I'd recommend for future videos, to bring the music audio down a little bit. So its easier to hear you.
I appreciate your recommendation, sir! Will definitely keep that in mind for the next project which is coming soon!

Hey man thanx for the video! Imma try it out! I subscribed btw.
Thank you and good luck to you sir!
Could you do a video on the leds for the 4wd control, cup holder and back window switch
I will certainly consider it. I've been very busy lately but as soon as I get some free time, I'll make a quick video.
@@Nashharis8758 thank you, they link you posted was for a 20 leds was that enough
@@LuuZilla yes, I only ended up using 18 but you can certainly order different colors if you want.
On 4th gens the window switch, 4wd control, and cup holder lights are not little LED chips, just a bulb replacement for those. Mini lamp bulbs
@@Tater_277 correct, they are the 3mm bulbs.

Those are different light. You'll need to change those as well and to any color you want.

Hello, good morning, how much do you charge me to do that to my 2007 runner?
does each needle have an LED? i wanna change mine to a red needle
The needles are redish color already. It's the amber lights that's making it look orangish. But the each have 1 LED light.
@@Nashharis8758 thanks for replying
@@tee228 of course
Do you know if the stepper motors are soldered on as well? My needles only work half the time, thinking I need to replace them.
Yes, they are. A bit more complicated than the lights obviously.
I'm about to send you my 2005 4runner sr5 v8 so i can get the same radio, led control unit and the led speedometer done. I'm super jealous right now
I'd be happy to help!
Great video.. question tho... My Diff Lock Indicator light doesnt light up .. will these LEDs replace those indicators also.. eg. check engine, DiffLock, 4Lo, ABS, Etc. indicators or is this only for Speedometer, RPM, Fuel etc.
Yes, these LEDs work for all of the lights on the panel, all of warning lights too but I kept my warning lights original.
What was the temp of the soldering iron when you did this job?
300 but the most important part is you need to make sure the iron isn't burning the board. If you've ever soldered before, then you're good.
How much would you charge to this if I sent you my instrument panel?
Hey bud, I won't be able to sorry.
Are the led lights dimmable?
Yes.
Man your video is making me visually and audibly sick motion sensitive I guess, come on man some of us need that information
This was my first ever TH-cam video and I filmed it on my gopro. I apologize about the poor quality of this footage. Feel free to ask any questions tho. Thanks.
Alot of work for different color cluster. But looks sick tho.
Once you get a hang of it, it's pretty easy man.

How many Leds did you end up using?
