Thank you so much for making this video. I wouldn’t even begin to know how to approach this problem, you made it a snap! Anyone reading this comment should note, you will notice that the plastic around the gearshift bulb holder may be brittle from age & heat. Be very careful using any tool that could damage the bulb holder. You might consider leaving the bulb holder in place and carefully use needle nose pliers to remove old bulb and place new led bulb.
As an (older) woman who knows NOTHING about a car except driving & putting gas in it 🤭 When my X husband left me for my BF, he neglected to show me basic maintenance on my 4-Runner. Oops! So, I took on the task of researching (and reading my car's manual) how to replace factory-grade bulbs with LEDs. I cannot express how thankful I am for coming across this video!!!!! It was informative & easy. ••• Let me add...Last week I detailed the areas in which (I now have apart) I used Q-Tips & Toothpicks to reach the crevices! OMG! Every piece is disgusting from drinks & debris falling into the crevices. And to think I had a clean interior...😂 Thank you, mate.
Thanks for the video and breakdown of everything, good stuff. I’d love to see a follow up on how they look in action. I’m tempted to do this myself, but I’m curious if they’re overpowering and how they look compared to the rest of the lights in the dash like HVAC and info panel.
Hi, I followed you video to change mine. Te bulb is a T5 3smd is not hard to find, is cheap and looks great!, thanks a lot. Now I want to upgrade to LED all the bulbs on the climate control and screen. I'm investigating about the color and the tipe of bulb... I believe one are T3..... Maybe you know?
Great video, thanks. Can you provide a link to the bulbs you used? All I'm seeing on that website are bulbs that look totally different than what's in the video. Thanks again!
Use these bulbs instead...www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/miniature-and-subminiature-bulbs/74-led-bulb-3-smd-led-miniature-wedge-retrofit-car/228/1067/
I just bought a 2003 4Runner and didn't even realize there were light bulbs there. Thanks for the video!
Haha sweet! Glad it helped 🙂
@@therealrealshocker I actually just went into the garage and checked. Yes, they're dead. Another thing added to the list of "to do" items.
@@2-old-Forthischet it should be a nice little mod/upgrade, especially since they weren't working

That's great news! I'm glad it helped out 👍🏼
@@therealrealshocker All the best! 😉
At first, I read BF as boyfriend and I was like 'what?" lol

Thanks for posting this! Unfortunately the door bulbs didn’t work for my rear plate holder but everything else is great!
Useful video. Going to try this on my 07 4Runner.
Would’ve been nice if you put done before and after shots though.
You're right, next time I make a video like this I'll take the advice. Thanks 👍🏼
Thanks for making the video, helped out.
👍👍
The superbright #74 fit fine in cup holder. But would not fit tight in the gear shift. Think the oem is a little longer.
Link to the lights please
Great video

Thanks ! Going to order mine now.
Hello and thanks for the video.
You know, I replace the bulbs and when I try them none of them light up. Do you know what else can go wrong?
Try spinning the bulb 180° around. The LED bulbs are polarized +-
@@therealrealshocker thanks, I'll give it a try!!
I can't wait to do this to my 06 4runner, but i also wanna witch the rest of my lights to leds, how did u know what bulb to use for each spot?
I've been around a lot of cars and I recognized the bulb types. I'm weird like that lol
Great job 👏 also I went to the bathroom to trow out because toko much shaking the camera it was worse than riding the roller-coaster 🎢 🤮🤮🤮🤮
Sorry about that, next time I'll use a tripod or something
@@therealrealshocker that's a great job 👏 bro..
Beside the shaking..

@@therealrealshocker Thank you!
@@therealrealshocker do you know if advanced or auto zone sell these bulbs? Or can they only be purchased online?
@@jonandmel2759 I'm not sure tbh. I've always ordered online. Plus online stuff is usually cheaper
@@therealrealshocker thank you!!
What type of Led bulb .. where I can buy it ? Is Amazon carry it ?
I believe it was a #74 LED bulb and yes from Amazon
Where did you get the carbon cup holder parts?
I just vinyl wrapped the original pieces 😁
👍
Where’d you get the carbon trim pieces?
That's just vinyl wrap from Amazon
Does this work on a 2005 ?
I'm not 100% sure but it worked on this 2003
