John wick just hucking knives at dudes is low key hilarious especially at close range. Also, love that the punisher is an equal rights equal fights kinda guy.
That’s what I liked about the JW, Punisher and DD fight scenes. They show the main character taking real damage but dishing it out as well. Not some guy just running through people left and right. Very well done
@damiensmyth3404 dude. John wick was the marvel movie. Cgi splats everywhere and beyond believable. Some of punishers fight scenes were truly brutal. Enough to make you wince. Very believable and realistic looking. Jw is great, but doesnt compare...
@@damiensmyth3404 John Wick was the Marvel movie, buddy. A lot of the fight scenes don't make sense, like in the 4th where he's being chased on the open streets by guys with guns, but not 1 of them decides to use it. They only try to use their gun, coincidentally when they get close to him. Its ridiculous when you rewatch the movies and realize how much doesn't actually make sense. Punisher was just straight up brutal and the fights made 100x more sense. Not to say JW is bad. Its still good. But its not on the level of Punisher's fight scenes just based on realism.
That knife scene in John wick 3 is so dope. It’s not only just a knife fight. A bunch of people had guns and it turned into cqc real quick. And then everyone just scrambling to grab knives after is great. My favourite bit is when everyone is just basically playing dodgeball with throwing knives, and it’s not like they’re all sticking into people either, some of them miss or are just smacking into people. It’s more realistic that way. Even if these dude know how to throw knives (I’m assuming they do obviously) it’s a stressful death fight so you’d fuck some of em up. Like if I tried to throw a knife at someone it probably wouldn’t impale them, it would most likely just hit with the grip or dull end and it’d bounce off. But I also don’t know how to throw a knife either so maybe that point isn’t valid, but still.
I threw a butcher knife at my ex-husband (we were married at the time) once. We were having an argument & he put hands on me (not sure if he was gonna hit, throw or restrain me) - BIG MISTAKE - I saw red so without hesitation I slipped from his grip, dashed into the kitchen, grabbed the butcher knife & threw it as hard & fast as I could (I'm all of 5 ft 105 lbs soaking wet so my fight or flight instincts were on full alert) straight at his head as he was running out the front door after realizing what I had in my hands. Well that knife sailed past his head while he ducked just in time otherwise it probably would've lodged itself in his face/head but instead it lodged into the front door missing his head by a milli-inch. It was like something out of a movie with the blade stuck halfway in the door while the handle & other half of the blade was kinda vibrating back & forth from the momentum from me throwing it. We're both lucky I missed cuz the neighbors saw what happened & called the cops. I lied & said I never handled the knife that it wasn't me. The female cop believed me after seeing some bruising on my arms from my ex grabbing me so I didn't get in trouble. My ex never put hands on me again after that lol
They could pretty much just make this entire video Punisher scenes. By far the best fight scenes in cinema. The bar scene following this bathroom fight, the gym scene, the prison fight, etc...
@@orion351us yes sir. I meant more along the lines that, that particular stuntman was in 2 or 3 parts of that scene. Memorable. Sorry idk if you’re a professional stuntman or anything.
I think this is from Aikido, my dad has trained aikido and showed me similar hand grips. Once your muscule memory remembers those moves in a fight you do them automatically. The best thing about aikido is not only that they teach you how to fall on the ground so that you can have minimum damage but also there the size and strenght of the opponent can go in your benefit as you can turn that against them. The stronger and larger the oponent the easier it becomes for you to throw them off balance and use their power against them. There are all kinds of techniques, if someone has their hands on your throat you can literally break their fingers, if someone catches you by the hair you can twist their wrist and all kinds of techniques from breaking bones to throwing people meters away without needing any strenght whatsoever.
The Punisher fight scenes are LEAPS AND BOUNDS above any other fight scenes. This is because the scenes are ABSOLUTELY REALISTIC. You don’t watch them and think things like “yeah ok, an ordinary man can throw another grown man off his feet and 10ft through the air”
The fact that most of the knives thrown by Wick and the other assassins *don't* actually stick into anybody is probably my favorite part of that fight scene
