looking tired...good luck ..i got rid of three-bed roomed house worth of stuff and got it down to five suitcases to move to China, I had over a 1000 books ..and my wife is minimalist..so I'm doing it and I enjoy it, yes I miss some of my gear.. Peace and JaYoe
I just donated 75% of my stuff and what I have left still won't fit in my car 😂 I need to downsize even more

Use your family’s library cards and you can access millions of books through the ebook borrowing system. Reading on an ereader feels like having a paper copy. I know kindle can be used and perhaps nook.
Good luck with the move and new job.. I was in China a couple times in the past and looking to move / retire to Asia in 5-10 years.

You have a lot of stuff. When I was a nomad moving from place to place when I was younger, I had very few things.
Now I am more settled, but I still have relatively few things. I only have like 3 pairs of shoes, and the clothes I have are the ones I wear on a daily basis. My mom has over 100 pairs of shoes, and more clothes than she wears.
People can have everything they need, but they cannot have everything they want.

Yeah, it makes more sense to have less. I kinda settled here 14 years in Guangdong and I accumulated so much stuff. I donated like 75% but still have too much 😂. I’m trying to bring myself to part with more stuff so I can get a smaller apartment.

Good luck with your move! I agree it's good to have fewer things. I have 4 pairs of shoes and all my clothes, except winter coats, can fit in one suitcase. Even though I am not moving, it feels good to live simply.
I admire you ! I really want to do that but I find it so hard to part with stuff especially if there is nothing wrong with it.
@@viewpointabroadThank you. It's not uncommon that many people have emotional attachment to things. I have donated many things to GoodWill and secondhand shops. The way I see it is that it's same whether I use it or someone uses it as long it doesn't go to landfill. From what I know, there is no evidence that things have made people happy, even money. In theory, I can buy whatever I want and as much as I want, but I don't see the point of it. When you have less, the value of your life increases; thus "less is more." When people become insatiable, it's sad. If there is a "void" in one's head, things can't fill it. Having less is also for the economy and the environment. The beginning of downsizing can be hard for many, but it does get easier. 🙂

yeah, too MUCH stuff! I have storage full of stuff, stuff that I don't need or use anymore, but I just don't want to give them up. I understand minimalism, but I guess I'm just a guy like to have junks in my life. I actually moved 4 times in my life, lost many old stuff, but once I settled in one place, I just start to pie up new stuff. LOL. good luck to your new life!

@@viewpointabroad good place,I had been there ten years before,it is a very large city second to Zhengzhou in Henan province.All the city are full of chinese national flower,peony,and it is a city full of proudness of each chinese person!Luoyang could develop very fast in coming years as it is really important,at least it should be developed as Hangzhou or Nanjing coz of history.
@@viewpointabroad It is paralled to Xi‘an，Beijing,Nanjing,Hangzhou,Kaifeng.Zhongshan is peanut compare to Luoyang,like a village in history.
