What an interview! Johnny was SO open and accepting what he did to his career. Pretty amazing. For real Johnny you could be a FANTASTIC mentor for young players coming into the league. Everyone forgets..these are KIDS! Sink or swim without helping all these guys is not the right way to handle your players..... seems that how most teams in the NFL work unfortunately.

As a retired party girl who was chronically depressed my entire 20s and also in the peak millennial age range, I very much relate to and understand everything he is saying.
I always told myself if I had opportunities that he did I would be “happy” this interview made me realize even further how none of that matters. When you’re in a bad space mentally, a broken spirit, nothing like money or a successful career is enough to fill the void. The only thing I looked forward to was partying and getting fxcked up. That was the most relatable thing that came out of his mouth to me😂
The Mental health field wasn’t what it is today. He also is bipolar
The criticism I held towards him during that time…like you have it all, what majority of ppl would dream of having (at least the money/career aspect) how could you eff this up?? I get it now
I think we sometimes forget these ppl are regular humans not characters in a movie. No one is exempt from insecurity, low self esteem no matter how famous you are. In fact it probably makes it worse.

The party scene started in Kerrville and then just bleed into College Station. I’m glad he is able to look back at everything and learn from it. Shay Shay is the new version of True Hollywood Stories with Charlie Murphy. The stories… it’s good to see that Johnny has matured so much, but he is still stopping short to say what all he really may have been doing. During his interview 20 years from now, we will learn so much more of the “full story” and I think we may be shocked… much like the stories of Rick James. Did Johnny Football dwell in the Abyss? … no doubt!

@@Phillip-py7pc A pro career doesn’t tell an entire story. If there’s one thing Manziel has is a story to tell. Just think about it first off that game his freshman year when he balled out and beat Bama at home as 15 point dogs. People still talk about that game like it just happened. The. Winning the heisman as a freshman. Then he’s got all the stories about him being knowing as this party animal and how it affected his college career. Then you got the big scandal that he was allegedly signing memorabilia for money while in college. Then even without all that he was still one of the most electric players to even step on a college field. That’s all before he even gets to the pros and we know how all that went. Being a good interview isn’t about how great your pro career was. It’s about what story you have to tell and Manziel definitely has an interesting story to tell. And from most of the comments on ClubShayShay they all love this interview.

Sometimes the dynamic between 1st and 2nd string QBs can be one of a mentor, but in some cases these guys are competing against each other for massive contracts. He said he studied at the facility not away from the facility. That’s why he had zero login time. He checked out once he left the stadium.

If I can accomplish anything in my lifetime I hope to get people to stop saying this foolish, redundant phrase. Do people not know what AM/PM means? “It was 10 in the morning, in the morning” is what you just said Johnny. I guess that fancy education didn’t amount to anything 😂

Some of these people really need to learn the difference between excuses and reasons. Reasons are not an excuse. Not once did he ever blame anyone but himself for his actions. He's just stating the events of his life that led him to where he is and yes that includes being thrown into one of if not the most dysfunctional franchise in NFL history at least in this century. That is a REASON that contributed to his downfall. Not an excuse to put the blame on his parents ,Bryan Hoyer,Kevin Sumlin or anyone else.

I blame it on Johnny, but I also blame it on the coaches at Texas A&M for not teaching him the basics of football and showing him how to be a man! That is literally the main job of a coach! His parents trusted that coach to take care of his son, and teach him how to be a man, and he failed by allowing him to just do whatever he wanted just because of his God-given talent!
