To safely operate that manlift you should have a full body safety harness and tied off with a safety lanyard to the basket loop anchor point.

Regarding the ‘Manhunt’ I live in Australia and sometimes I think I’m on another planet listening to the news about teenagers who have multiple court convictions doing really bad things (robbing liquor stores, breaking into someone’s house to get car keys to steal their car, really bad stuff) they get bail and offend again the same day. One young boy had 388 convictions but still out on bail. What sort of world are we living in. I understand what you are saying.

I see "deer stand" written all over that lift.... I'm with you, Mike, on ladders. I can sit all day 20' up in a tree with my bow as comfortable as can be as long as I'm strapped in wearing my harness, but put me 10' up a ladder and my knees are knocking, too.

I guess my comment is a general warning for everyone watching. Please be very careful operating all machinery.

Got to admit I did expect to see Melissa running that roller. Going slow of course, but still going.
Mike, I bet if you put the roller information ie..... Model, year, manufacturer and anything else Adam has that 1 of your viewers could help locate a source. Maybe not today, but you get 10 or 15,000 people looking and you'll find something. Look at what it did in helping those 25 cops in finding that crook 🤔🤔🤔😵‍💫😵‍💫

Corning had a dozen lifts like that but electric. They stayed busy too. One year i and another guy each took one, his was a scissor lift, ane we used brooms and leaf blowers to take down all the spider webs, bird nests, and dust in our warehouse. I got all the areas around dock doors and ramps where a sissor lift couldn't get to. As many drives and roads you keep up, a roller would be nice to have. Just keep your eyes open and maybe a deal will come along like w Adam. I bet the road will hold it's shape longer after being rolled. Very nice of Adam to loan you his. I didn't mind a 30 minute video at all!! Thank you.👍🚜❤️🙏🇺🇲🇺🇲

Mike - very enjoyable seeing the road get “stoned”.
I still see lots of cut trees and branches along the way, next to the new road. Are you going to stockpile them somewhere, or just leave them to rot? I know you are busy, but it is like unfinished work, that needs to be addressed, or maybe it is just my OCD kicking in.

I have a gutter cleaning extension for my blower which can get me about 24 feet off the ground. I built a PVC setup that connects to a garden hose, that gets me 24+ feet. Between blowing air and / or water, my gutters should be easier to keep clean.

That’s a smart looking Cherry Picker the electricians on the Gas Plant where I work use a similar unit to change the lamps on lighting and cable inspections, etc. They work as a pair and are harnessed so if they get jolted out of the cradle they return home in one piece and only have underwear to launder. 👍

😄I have been in the same boat. I use to hate it when the delivery guy leaves before I have a chance to get the basic program. It seems like all of them have their own little operation control quirks. Sometimes the lifts require a secret squirrel handshake to get them started and or moving.
Your go lucky. Having a little rain while you are rolling is a very fortunate thing. A little water can go a long way to help with compaction.
One safety thing about the boom lift- you could be launched out of it if the wheels hit an uneven surface just right. Using them on a construction site, the operator had to be harnessed to the machine with a full fall protection harness.

It's interesting the differences that still exist in the northern and southern regions of the US. Your investment in machinery and stone for building driveways would be considered unnecessary in the south. All you really need is a good 4 wheel drive, a winch, and a snorkel to make it to you house.

Hi Mike. I ❤ that lift.( I prefer a smaller one.) My family didn't have money to rent one. But. That's my history of 9 ladder accidents. I've been banned from ladders since 2011. A smaller life would helped. Just saying. Those " renters" should had a operational manul to run lifts. Save a lot of grief & frustrations running lifts. Just saying. Adam's roller: That roller look a late 1980s or early 1990s model. 2000 models are quieter. Wonderful roller. 🥰😊😉👍 Great job on your road Mike. I thought 5 loads of 2a limestone. You want a decent final layer of 2a limestone. We all know how you ❤ mud. SARCASM! 😆😆😆😁😁😁 Yes. We get manhunt in Upstate N.Y. & Vermont. Sometimes. Both N.Y. & Vermont work together. They caught a guy in our nieghborhood's swamp in the late 1990s. He & another man escaped a N.Y. County Jail. N.Y. state police caught the other man in N.Y. Me & my family were 7/10th of a mile from the captured man in the swamp. We had excitement back then too. 2 helicopters, all types of N.Y. & Vermont law enforcements w/ thier vehicles. We saw in on our N.Y. news station. ( Our house was Upstate N.Y. The is road was Vermont.) Well. Say Hi to Eva, Tyler, Hannah, & Hunter. 🥰😊😉👍❤️💜🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Mike and family, good morning, used a lift similar to that one to change out the old windows in our old brick colonial. Worked great but because of its weight I still find where the tires went around the yard. Since then I have used a towable lift, 45’ or 55’, works great; have taken hundreds of trees in tight spaces, safely and efficiently. I am tracking Tyler; have a great day and week.

They want all your contact Information, before they give you a price. I guess that is so competitors cannot shop their prices.. ? I was an Electrician for a Contractor at the Firestone Tire & Rubber Plant in Orange, Texas. I used Manlifts, Scissor Lifts etc. For the towers i used a 120 Foot Boom. They are very safe and nice. If your interested there are many types, JLG Standard, Genie types, New, Used, Reconditioned are all available. That Roller is the ticket on that type of work for sure.. Thanks 💯🙏

I used to work industrial maintenance at a galvanizing plant, and have spent many hours on a man lift. Even though its better than a ladder I'm not much into the heights either. Especially over tanks of sulphuric acid or kettle of 830 degree zinc. I'm like you Mike. If it will start up and move I can run it. Been on vibratory roller, skid steer, excavator, etc. I'll be 74 in October so reserved myself to just 2 wheels now.

It's never been the height. I routinely sit 20-40 feet up trees during the fall and winter. It does however, give a bit of a pucker when that tiny thought of the sudden stop at the bottom enters the brain. I always recheck my harness and safety line every single time that little thought worms its way up. All of this after descending at terminal velocity from very high altitudes in my youth. Just always remember - Safety Third. And how I love the JLGs vs the Bos'n chairs.

18:05 If I had a machine like that, I'd make it my daily driver. Wouldn't that be fun to run around town in? You have to watch out for those bridges and power lines, though. ;-)

Used a manlift many times over the years during my time in maintenance in the mill. They get very sensitive the higher you go. I was up about 90 feet on a job and sneezed. It almost bounced me out of the basket. (we are required to wear a safety harness) It definitely beats ladders.

When I worked at the Water utility, we would rent one of those lifts for maintenance work. I was able to operate them after some study of the controls. I always managed to get some great pictures from a view I could get any other way. We never got one that large, but they are handy.

Could you *please* check under your Diamondback bed cover on the F350.

On the man hunt! That's because you live in a relatively conservative area 🇺🇸. Out here in COMIfornia acting Gov needsome has very very liberal laws. And criminals get away with all that sht. You want high police presence

You can get a good used one for around $20,000. New is not the way to go for your average DYI person. I got lucky and found a genie S40 for $13,500.

There are some pieces of equipment that are not fun to operate, a roller is one of the pieces of equipment. However, they are a great piece of equipment to do a proper job of driveways etc. That is a good size one Mike.

I’ve been waiting to rent a lift to repair the roof on my old barn. That’s similar to the one the rental place showed me…think I will look for a smaller simpler one. I will have to be laying on bucket floor to screw tin, so scratching my head a bit. No way I’m walking on steep pitch rusty metal roof and of course it’s so HOT here the tin will burn your hands.

Lifts cost between 65,000 and 250, 000 depending on self propelled…I have a 65 that cost 95 when new…in the tree business it makes sense for daily use…but I’d love to have a 95 footer. Of course they come in many flavors.

Lifts can be funny, we deal with em all the time but sometimes you get a strange one, really old or really new or a brand you don't know. Emergency shutoffs on both ends, switches to transfer control to the basket, on and on. No shame at scratching your head at em. I've seen delivery drivers cuss at them. They deal with them all day every day.

A friend of mine has an old 55' Snorkel articulated lift. I borrowed it to do some roofing work. He had a blast laughing at me trying to run it. The pedal safety caught me too. You probably had it in turtle mode. Good for tight areas.

Hey Mike, instead of renting a "man lift" if it comes to that, I will just hire out someone to do that particular job. The way I look at it, I figured they are much better set up than I am to do the whole job. But this is me.
