Experience is just something you just can’t put a price tag on- do y’all agree? Saving upwards of 30k by getting dirty in the trenches hahaha… this lakehouse is slowing turning the corner!

Congratulations on your 500 K. Crystal you make me tear up when you talk about how you feel about your community. You two are so authentic. Keep up the great work
This project seems to be more massive to handle than the first house. Watching the last two episodes left me with a jaw dropped. You inspire me to be excited about getting to do hard stuff.
Well that is proving to be true. Having a creek and lake surrounding our property/cabin can be challenging for sure.😊🐾 glad you feel like you can take it all on too!!!
They are definitely showing the importance of having the right equipment (mini ex, tractor, etc.) to get things done safely and quickly (relatively speaking).
Can we talk about the AMAZING editing that creates each episode? Quite apart from your DIY outdoorsy skills, there's some elite construction, storyboarding, shot and music selection in every episode. Like a lot of stuff you both do, actual pro's could learn from you, as well as the other way round! Bravo and warmest congrats from Melbourne Australia on the 500K!
From someone in the construction field, I was sitting here saying you need to "Burrito" the pipe and stone to keep the dirt from getting into stone and pipeline so it doesn't clog them! Y'all are killing it! Keep up the good work!
I am part of the Sunday morning breakfast club too. Wow! Wow! Wow! Ladies! Your physical and mental strength to do all of this work! Brava!! Amazing and admirable! So proud of you! And tired for you!
I’m probably the only member of the One-Week-Later-Before-Breakfast-Club. I am in The Netherlands and your video arrives here at 4.30 in the afternoon. Not a good moment for watching. So I save it up till the next Sunday morning, so I can watch it before breakfast with my iPad, still in bed. Then my day starts with taking care of my mom of 93 and our Aussie of 2 years and 3 months. I found your channel when I was thinking about getting a dog, specifically a Australian Shepherd. Well, we got Rafael (after the tennisser Rafael Nadal, call name Rafa of course) his father was a mini, his mother a standard, and since then I have been watching you every week. Since the beginning of this year I have been working on a plan to renovate our garden: making it elderly person -proof and dog-proof. And I learned from you both to inform myself and make a plan. The old very full garden is emptied, preserving the fruit trees against the walls and some other trees, and starting all over with new plants. Well, since July we enjoy our new garden Rafa is running and rolling over the artificial grass and my mother isn’t scared of falling anymore and came outside every day. I have cleaned the walls and put a preserving fluid on them, painted the wooden panels. And there is nothing so satisfying as knowing that your plan has worked out perfectly. Next year I will be 70, and I know that I will be settled for the next many years😊 Thanks ladies for the inspiration and the nice start of my Sundays! I enjoy so much following your video’s. And by the way: I hope my Rafa will get as calm as Izzy and Bella in the future, he is a hand full but we love him dearly. And he and my mother have a special bond. I think he loves her more than he loves me, he is so gentle with her..
Congratulations on 500000 and I want to let you know I live for Sunday morning. Enjoy my coffee while watching the two of you build your future. Bow Wow!
If the rain disaster hadn’t happened, do you think your original drainage design (without the extra gravel and grading) would have been sufficient? Perhaps, in a way, it was a blessing in disguise?
Congratulations on 500,000!!! This HAS to be one of the top channels for anybody wanting to learn how to do carpentry, plumbing, building and planting in a greenhouse, using solar energy, remodeling a cabin, building a floating raft/cabin ... and so much more!!! And then there are you two amazing girls who make it fun and exciting to learn along with you too! It's the perfect mix and impossible not to love and look forward to each week. You certainly have a winning recipe for success here and I know I don't plan on leaving ... ever!!
No need. Unless you are servicing it regularly, those mechanical solutions are more of a liability. Ground water can swell if the lake level rises and would come up from underneath the cabin. Having the pipe from inside will let this drain out and down now that they have proper grade etc Plenty of clear stone inside so it's not the end of the world that it doesn't have perimeter pipe.
A well deserved 500+K. So well done gals! :) Meg, Prince Edward Island chiming in. We keep moving forward one step at a time with each of our projects.
Using the plywood sheet to guide the gravel down into the trench…brilliant! And Jasmine is right; you can never over engineer. Congrats on reaching 500k. You are amazing women
Suggestion: Put a pretty large dehumidifier that is controlled by a humidistat (whenever it gets to 'damp', for us above 45% relative humidity it runs) and put it in the crawlspace. Ours has a small pump attached (only pumps when water is available from the dehumidifier) and out to a external drain, but you could go into your french drain cleanout above ground somewhere. But I am not in Canada so YMMV. Also I wish you had used 45 degree angled cleanouts not 90's, just so cleanout might be easier.
These last two videos has really highlighted how the Kabota equipment has been a stellar performer with you too getting loads of great work done with it including emergency trenching. Go Kabota.
Wow. I am literally in tears. I'm so incredibly impressed and inspired by what you two are doing with this little abandoned cabin. Not only the hard work and exhaustion but the heart you are putting into it as well. I teared up when you showed the little rock steps and explained the water plan. I'm cheering for you from Santa Fe, NM, soon to be in rural Ontario, Canada. And a huge congrats on surpassing 500K! The world has its challenges and it's folks like you who still give us hope. Thank you.
Congrats on 500K! I love watching you guys. I’m a single mom and have a yard that gets tons of leaves and needs a lot of work and you guys keep me inspired and encouraged. I watch you guys putting in such hard work and it helps me get out and want to do my best with what little time and energy I have left after a day of work, house, kids and home. Thank you beautiful girls! ❤
It’s a little late now, but the French Drain Man videos are an excellent resource. The way you constructed your burrito is the way I learned how to do it. Congratulations on the half million subscribers! You ladies are phenomenal and I really enjoy your videos! Take care and God bless!
I'm so glad to see your quick action was effective and saved you a bucket of money. It makes my Sunday morning with coffee and Vanwives even more enjoyable 🙂.
Congrats on 500k subscribers! I'm not at all surprised because you guys give us such joy watching you. From a lady with osteoarthritis, please take care of your backs. Keep your core strong and stretch a lot. Thank you for being the blessing that you are!!!
Congrats! You girls deserve all the attention! It’s incredible to tune in each week to watch you never backing down, taking on the toughest jobs, that most males never tackle. Izzy and Bella are just the bonus to your story!
You two are amazing, have I said this before? In all likelihood. The work you have done to get this right the first and only time is so good. A lot of hard work, it is hard to pick a good enough word to describe you both. Crystal and Jasmyn the wonder Women. Love to you both from Mike. ❤❤
great work and you both should be proud of your accomplishment - I do recommend doing something to prevent small vermin from crawling up the drain exit. they can get stuck in there and die then clogging the system.
Wow. Just wow. I've only been watching for half a year, but it's truly amazing the work you two get done together! Ya'll inspire me as a woman. I hope to one day be even a smidgen as resilient, resourceful, determined, and diligent as ya'll are! Congratulations on the 500k. I'm sure ya'll will be at 1 million in no time at all ❤.
In 1991 I helped build The Robert Trent Jones Golf Course in the Highlands Trails we used gravel as the base then perforated black flexible plastic pipe then put gravel back over it in every green bunker I never seen it that way done looks like a lot of work but y’all make it look easy be safe Sniffers and I love y’all look forward to seeing Izzy and Bella next week ✝️❤️🌹🥀🌺
You ladies just amaze me. You don't shy away from any project and you seem to work your butts off. Then to do it all by yourselves, living out in the wild like that. All I can say is WOW!
Yippee 500k 🎶 We're so happy to be some of your 1st subscribers. Started with your California Coast vid. Your joy, doggies and music- such a gift. Knew you all were destined for greatness 💗
Thank you Jason for being a long time subscribers. We are so grateful to have you in our pack. We owe it all to you and all our subscribers for your support. 💛🐾
You NEVER cease to amaze. I feel that it's my repetitive mantra for you. Every little bit - you raise the bar yet again. The French drain work - so impressive. And now the rock walls! W.O.W! That cabin and surrounding area is going to be a showpiece. It's never been so true. You really ROCK!
Congratulations on 500,000 subscribers!!! So honored to one of the 1/2 million. You two have been an absolute joy to watch each Sunday. I was one of those the typed a message, when asked by you, if you should renovate this cabin. I said, "YES, if anyone can do it, you two can!" Look at what you've accomplished. All the best. Always love Sunday's and a new vid from you both and Bella and Izzy! 😉💙
Congratulations on the 500 K I'm a 77 year old mother and grandmother, I think you to girls are an inspiration for so many people, you show what is possible with hard work and you do it all with humour, bless you both. ❤️🙏💃💃👏👏👏👏👏💐💐

Congrats on the 500k...I was around when it in the 20's...amaaazing. 73 here and you keep me inspired to move. Building out my van for travel.....yaaaaay....it is certainly a massive learning experience. Thank you, you two....stay safe..
500K!! 🎉 That’s down to you guys being so real from the beginning. Plus you’ve learned and grown not only in your building and homesteading skills but in your content skills. Congratulations! Yay Izzy and Bella! ❤❤❤
I was hit by the hurricane. I live in western N C. We just got phone service, and internet back. Several roads, and bridges washed out. Trees down everywhere. I am almost 75 years old. It was bad.
You girls never cease to amaze me. This was a massive project. Thank goodness you had your supervisors on hand to make sure you stayed on task 😊. Gotta love Izzy and Bella! Well done!
You two young ladies do such an awesome job with everything not matter how much work it is, add that with the people you both seem to be and we understand why your channel is so popular. I am not sure why it's not even more popular.
Congratulations on your 500,000 subscribers!!!!!!🎉 You have earned every single one, putting out each week some of the most entertaining and informative videos. I'm sure we all look forward every Sunday to what Crystal and Jazz are up to and without fail, except when you take a needy break for family and friends time, you once again give us that satisfaction of sharing your joys, learning experiences and accomplishments. I am in awe of you both❣️ With deep respect, Aunt Granny
You all definitely deserve a ton of subscribers. You are the hardest-working women on the internet. I admire how you learn and persevere. Sometimes, you fail gracefully but keep going. You are mentally and physically strong, and I really admire you. Keep going! We will all keep watching.
I think they're right if you plug that pipe in when your ditch fills up too much water it's going to come right back into your crawl space we used to have that problem dad duga ditch out to the creek that's how we used to drain her basement every year the creek would come up the basement would fill up with water US kids liked it because we get to go downstairs and play boats but everything down there had to be up on bricks you put some pumps down there to pump out the water but there is something easier than you could do than just dig up your hole and fix the tea there is rubber plugs you can stick in there hole in the pipe and just blow it up with air and seal it off if you really want you can put concrete after you seal it off in the hole and then if you ever have problems with your crawl space you can always just put in a little sub pump with a toilet float type thing on it when it comes up it sucks the water out no big deal a lot easier than digging a hole and fixing it up and plugging in I tell you that
They likely will have to add a sumppump in the future to deal with the crawlspace to get any water out of the crawl space if that water gets in, but they might be OK as them have redirected water away from the outside of foundation,l with the work they did, and once the hole in the wall is sealed the only path of the ground ground water flows and water outside ifbrhe foundation has been redirected, bit only time will tell as water can be a sneaky nemesis.
You ladies are truly an inspirational duo. Your you tube site should be viewed by all young people as an example of what can be accomplished if you so desire!
❤ Omg CONGRATS on the 500k!! 🎉 Im so excited for you two! Every week you continue to deliver superb content and every week Im left with such positive vibes, thank you!! ❤❤
Wow😮 I know nothing about construction, but I can see how much you learn and study online to do what you do. I’m curious to know how you learn these things like water management and landscaping so quickly. You make it look easy but people go to schools to do these things right? Congrats!
... Can learn almost anything on TH-cam University ..... but although the knowledge is needed ,, it's the physical "Git-r-Done" that is impressive ..... Stay tuned ,, doing brain surgery next week ..
I found your channel in March 2020 when I was mandated to stay home. You ladies have done so much since then. Your cabin is amazing and your projects are well built. You two inspire me to get off my keister and build my own off grid cabin in the woods. I've been watching every Sunday afternoon, since I sleep in on Sundays Congratulations 🎊 👏 💐 🎉on 500K subscribers. You two deserve every happiness in the world for your hard work. You two can do anything 💪🏼💪🏼. Give Izzy and Bella lots of love and pets from me. 😊
Aw you guys!! Love you both so much! And even when I miss a Sunday I make sure to get up to date in work hours ;) My gf and I are SO invested and learning so much through you, one day we'll also live this dream x
What are you out going to do in the crawl space to prevent moisture in that area so you don't have moisture or mold problems later down the road. Either plastic or concrete to seal it off from the moisture coming up from below, just a idea😊
@@judykimbrow2151 Yes, and install an interior perimeter drain on the inside of the footing in the crawlspace, graded to dump into the sump pump. A final touch would be a commercial grade de-humidifier in that space, but if the situation is handled right with the drainage, sump, and heavy duty plastic sheeting, it may not be necessary. I know power usage on this property has to be considered. They could just put a humidity monitoring gauge in there to see how the humidity looks, and do the de-humidifier if the readings suggest the need.
I think perimeter drains like you're putting in should be stoned all the way to the top and never covered because sooner or later it forms a seal at the top my perimeter drain works fine but I didn't cover it with dirt but my drain I put in between the properties from the neighbors property because there's so much runoff onto my property sealed up within a couple years and yeah you're right I use the other pipe the black perforated pipe on that drain and it was 13 feet deep worked for quite a few years but I don't think it works anymore it might I haven't went over the bank and looked and see for water comes out of it but somehow I don't think so And who doesn't like the looks of nice rock around their house you don't have to cut the grass up against your house and it just looks nice
A seal at the top is good, you actually should backfill with clay rich dirt around a house just so it doesn't let water through. The drains around the foundation are meant to take care of ground water, not surface water. Surface water is handled by making sure the ground is sloping away from the house.
Congratulations on 500 thousand subscribers. This channel deserves so much more. The quality of content from top down is awesome and I can see the hard work that goes into making these videos. Not to mention the awesome content and hard work you put into each project. Keep up the great work.
You've changed our lives. Literally. I now sleep an extra hour every Sunday so I can have coffee with the pack! Congrats on the accomplishments of the waterproofing and the 500K subscribers. You make the world a better place by putting in a little joy every week. Thank you!
Congratulations Crystal and Jazz and Izzy and Bella for that half a million subscribers! You all deserve that! Keep those beautiful and informative videos coming!
500k!!!🙌🙌 I am so super stoked about this cabin project. I came in in the middle of the other cabin. So excited to watch this one from the start. I just absolutely love these girls so much! Such good knowledge, so much good inspiration and motivation. ❤❤❤❤
Such a genuine and warm reaction to your 500k subscribers. You both deserve wonderful blessings and happiness. Thank you for sharing all your adventures.
I absolutely love you girls. Congrats on the 500K subscribers. You have inspired me so much. I was always afraid of failing, before I even tried a new project. With your help, I am trying more things and have surprised myself at what I can accomplish. Thank you for sharing all your amazing videos.
Glad I’m not the only one to see this. Considering the picture they showed of a French drain had the gutters connected to the drain. What they have is only going to help with groundwater 🤔
NO they absolutely should not. You never want to feed rain water into your foundation, those pipes are perforated. What they could have done however is to put in a parallell solid pipe in the trench to use for the downspouts.
I agree with others - don't add extra water burden to the drainage system. Just put long extensions on the gutters to get the water well away from the house and to a place where it will naturally and harmlessly drain away. They've got all the land in the world to work with here, unlike in places where houses are tightly packed.
Thanks for all the great details, and discoveries, as you work on your projects. That interior ‘drain’ was hilarious- so happy you checked it out! Love all your cool projects!
Congratulations 500,000🎉 amazing to see you ladies always teaching us something new & with smile & laughter ❤. Makes any job much funner for sure & may I add you can tell it legit & not fake .
WOOOHOO - Love the rock retaining walls. What a blessing (and I'm sure hard work) be able to get them moved from the cabin to the lake. That is awesome!!
Yes!!!!! With all those bolders in the yard and Crystal with that backhoe only knows how beautiful the land is gona look. Specially what you both did at the cabin and the land that turn out awesome in front of the porch. 🪨 🌼 the first day😢. Your faces 🌻🌿. You girls love a challenge and you'll do it right with NO cutting corners. I can't wait to see the front of the waterfront thats gona look beautiful. And congratulations 🎉❤on your 500.000 I'm part of I've been with ya' all for some time 😢 ups and downs but we did it🎉. Omg, those stairs and the retaining wall on the other side are just the beginning . I just want to say keep your heads up God bless you. Izzy, Bella also. Your young, beautiful , smart and love what you do. P.s. where did Joey go was he lay off ?😅😅.
Huge Congrats on 500K! May the next half mil be sooner and easier got! Ladies, you develop land like the Romans did- you see a possibility or a problem and you work the land to get where you want it to go. Crystal, I don't know how long it will take your to go full on pro with big power tools, but you could give Riley a run on some of it- Courtney would be tough to beat on a mini excav- watching her work with the little one they had was awesome! I was a plumber for a long time and these machines changed how we do a number of things in the ditches. A note on procedure; when you have a bunch of work for the excav, bring up a bunch of material with the front bucket of your backhoe. Those are actually called tractor/loader/backhoes, and are pretty strong in all three categories. That would speed up the refill time, but you have to plan your use of space to work for you. Another suggestion, since you have already hinted at what you watch- :Cole the Cornstar; he is in late stages of remodeling an over 100 year old farmhouse. His battles with underground water and such is another some tips could come from! Cheers,, girls; if it made you smile, it was worth doing and our watching it!
OH MY HECK, this old man has been following you since day ONE and now you have over 5K following. Congrats ladies you are totally amazing. Keep it up and blessings to each of you and your sweet furr babies. HUGS FROM THE OLD MAN IN UTAH

I remember back to your 1K subs when I started and I cannot thank you enough for sharing your life! It has helped get me through some low lows!
Using the plywood sheet to guide the gravel down into the trench…brilliant! And Jasmine is right; you can never over engineer. Congrats on reaching 500k. You are amazing women
I can't believe you don't have millions of subscribers! You two are such much fun to watch♥
Awe so kind of you to share with us. One day!💛🐾
👍 on half a million subscribers.
Yay! Thank you Jerry! Thanks to all of you!😊🐾
Congrats on the 500,000, you two are amazing!
Our 8 year old grandson just asked to watch "The Girls!" He's fascinated by the Kubota. We love that he's seeing women do the stuff you do. Thanks!!
This is the best!!! Thank you for sharing that with us and for watching with your grandson 💛
I wouldn’t know how to ever do this stuff. Very impressive. You’re a beautiful couple by the way!
These last two videos has really highlighted how the Kabota equipment has been a stellar performer with you too getting loads of great work done with it including emergency trenching. Go Kabota.
Awesome job girls. I love watching you on Sunday mornings.
Thank you.
Good morning Pack!😃🌧 Congratulations !!!!💫
Yay! Happy Sunday Jill from the pack.😊🐾
🎉 Woop Woop paws up congratulations y'all!!! Super job ladies!
Yay! We love that! Paws up for sure! Thanks for your support. 😊🐾
We agree Bryan. Thanks for being part of our pack. 😊🐶
Congrats on 500k subscribers! I'm not at all surprised because you guys give us such joy watching you. From a lady with osteoarthritis, please take care of your backs. Keep your core strong and stretch a lot. Thank you for being the blessing that you are!!!
Love u ladies. Be safe, don't go to fast and get hurt. Be careful. I don't want u to get hurt. Ur awesome.

Thank you Mike! Wonder Women, wow. Sending love back to you from the pack. 💛🐶
great work and you both should be proud of your accomplishment - I do recommend doing something to prevent small vermin from crawling up the drain exit. they can get stuck in there and die then clogging the system.
Wow.
Honestly, I’m constantly surprised you’re under a mil. My most consistent Sunday hang for years.
20:21 You should install a sump pump, in your basement, the drain pipe will back flow rain 🌧 into the basement.
If you turn the Stanley knife blade around?
Are there spare blades in the handle?
There should be.
Congratulations for 500k subscriber
Thank you we are so happy.
We appreciate your support. 💛🐾

Congrats on the 500k...I was around when it in the 20's...amaaazing. 73 here and you keep me inspired to move. Building out my van for travel.....yaaaaay....it is certainly a massive learning experience. Thank you, you two....stay safe..
Add a shut off valve in the basement drain.
It was bad.
Hope you're doing okay😢❤
I live in southwestern VA, so you’re just a stones throw away. 2 1/2 hr drive to Asheville. I’ve been thinking and praying for all of you.
You girls never cease to amaze me. This was a massive project. Thank goodness you had your supervisors on hand to make sure you stayed on task 😊. Gotta love Izzy and Bella! Well done!
ABSOLUTELY AWESOME !! Congratulation on 500K
You two young ladies do such an awesome job with everything not matter how much work it is, add that with the people you both seem to be and we understand why your channel is so popular. I am not sure why it's not even more popular.
500k viewers get in congratulations

@@Vanwives 🥰
Congratulations on your 500K, You ladies are slamming the subscribers. Keep up your good work, you well deserve it.
Missing you two today 😒 10-6-2024 hope everything is okay?
You all definitely deserve a ton of subscribers. You are the hardest-working women on the internet. I admire how you learn and persevere. Sometimes, you fail gracefully but keep going. You are mentally and physically strong, and I really admire you. Keep going! We will all keep watching.
I think they're right if you plug that pipe in when your ditch fills up too much water it's going to come right back into your crawl space we used to have that problem dad duga ditch out to the creek that's how we used to drain her basement every year the creek would come up the basement would fill up with water US kids liked it because we get to go downstairs and play boats but everything down there had to be up on bricks you put some pumps down there to pump out the water but there is something easier than you could do than just dig up your hole and fix the tea there is rubber plugs you can stick in there hole in the pipe and just blow it up with air and seal it off if you really want you can put concrete after you seal it off in the hole and then if you ever have problems with your crawl space you can always just put in a little sub pump with a toilet float type thing on it when it comes up it sucks the water out no big deal a lot easier than digging a hole and fixing it up and plugging in I tell you that
Very impressed. Well done both.
You ladies are amazing 👏 🤩.
❤ Omg CONGRATS on the 500k!! 🎉 Im so excited for you two! Every week you continue to deliver superb content and every week Im left with such positive vibes, thank you!! ❤❤
Thank you for sharing with us Daniel. We appreciate all your support. 😊🐾
You deserve all the good things coming your way. Congrats.
Wow😮 I know nothing about construction, but I can see how much you learn and study online to do what you do. I’m curious to know how you learn these things like water management and landscaping so quickly. You make it look easy but people go to schools to do these things right? Congrats!
University of TH-cam. 😊
❤you're reaction is PRICELESS 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Aw you guys!! Love you both so much! And even when I miss a Sunday I make sure to get up to date in work hours ;) My gf and I are SO invested and learning so much through you, one day we'll also live this dream x
Thank you for your kind words. We hope that one day your dream too will come true.💛🐶
What are you out going to do in the crawl space to prevent moisture in that area so you don't have moisture or mold problems later down the road. Either plastic or concrete to seal it off from the moisture coming up from below, just a idea😊
Put plastic in crawl space and up the walls then maybe a sump pump if possible.
Yall have become my favorite youtubers! I know how frustrating and hard construction can be and your positivity through the challenges is inspiring
I am waiting for the new video please 🥺

Any new video this week?
500k!!!🙌🙌 I am so super stoked about this cabin project. I came in in the middle of the other cabin. So excited to watch this one from the start. I just absolutely love these girls so much! Such good knowledge, so much good inspiration and motivation. ❤❤❤❤
I hope nothing bad happened to them or the dogs...usually they post a note here and on Instagram, when they're not posting a video...
I'm getting worried as if my friends promised to call and couldn't be reached for the past 24hours 😬 I reaaaally hope it's some technical problem🤞🤞🤞

CONGRATULTIONS + CELEBRATIONS 500 K Another amazing adventure putting in a french drainage, well done ladies.. great job, begone water 😂
I absolutely love you girls. Congrats on the 500K subscribers. You have inspired me so much. I was always afraid of failing, before I even tried a new project. With your help, I am trying more things and have surprised myself at what I can accomplish. Thank you for sharing all your amazing videos.
You need tie the gutter downspouts into your drainage pipe ! Luv Ya both !
Amazing Video I enjoy Look awesome pretty stunning Queens Highlight of the Day Looking forward all Day love ❤ oh no not good. Hope all ok Rock this
Thank you Dominik. We appreciate your positive support. 💛🐾
Congratulations to the two hardest workers in the world. Crystal you made me tear up too bless your heart. You’re so cute.
