thats why the pistols were so great. they dressed how they wanted, acted like they wanted to, and sang about whatever the fuck they wanted. They didnt give two shits if people didnt like what they did. You just dont see bands like that today...
Johnny Rotten gave an interview to the BBC in 1978 - where he made his suspicions about Jimmy Saville very clear - in return he and the Sex Pistols found themselves quietly 'banned' by the BBC. To my knowledge, he was the only prominent figure from the world of entertainment who actively spoke out about Jimmy Saville - Not all heroes wear capes - some wear 'safety pins'.
Dec 29, 1990 The Ramones played The Ritz in NYC and before taking the stage some music videos played on the big screen. The Heartbreakers, Suicidal Tendencies, and this one. When this one started the whole place went NUTS...a mosh pit to remember.

Danny Boyles tv series on the band is unreal the likeness is spot on!! The actors really took to the task of understanding the band members to the point they became them in a weird way. Highly recommend watching Pistol absolutely mind blowing loved every moment of it. They weren’t just a band but a movement of a culture of its time from fashion to politics to ways of life where the majority of the public hated them with a passion but in true punk fashion “and we don’t care” it only made people want them more and them to thrive.
I was wondering why this video was difficult to find and it hasn't been uploaded on the Sex Pistols main channel. It's Vivian Westwood's "Destroy" shirt with the big fat swastika on it. Lol! Can't show that any more.
The Sex Pistols got it right - NEVER MIND THE BOLLOCKS just listen to their music. Pretty Vacant - (my favourite SP track ) a great piece of raw rock 'n roll . Shame the BBC (arseholes) wouldn't play their music, because their sounds have been proven to be some of the best rock of the 1970's.

It makes for a pretty damning statement of the 70s BBC that's for sure.
It's truly disgusting about how much of an open secret this was.
Wow.i think there was another who spoke publicly and received similar treatment, but still that's saying alot.
Same with American entertainers that spoke about the abuses in hollywood before it was common knowledge.
Legends!
John Liden - old fashioned Englishman, honest to himself says what he thinks...says a lot about the BBC creeps.
I was 10 32 years ago when I saw the adult animation cult classic American Pop on Cinemax and introduced me to this band
Glad to see people stlll listening to these legends.

That beginning with the guitar riff and then the drums kicking in is pretty innovative. I can’t think of any song before this that had such an intro.

It’s ok I guess. Nothing to phone home about though.
That because they fuckin rocked saw PIL in the 80’s at the Ritz in Indy Jonny Rotten was still and is amazing.
