Man this is so cool. I was born in the wrong time. I wish I was 18 during this period of music...Pink floyd, Zep, Eagles, Heart, Bowie and T REX...what a time for music.

And another fact is that 2 of those friends died in the 70s in the age of 24 and 25 after an overdose of heroin after they had started with Marihuana like nearly everyone in the late 60s.

Went to this gig in 1972 with my mate Peter Stewart. Can’t believe it’s now 48 years ago. The satin jackets were everywhere, but I drew the line at the trousers! The main thing I remember is the 80% female audience...which was very pleasant to be amongst at that age. The tube journey home was rammed with T Rex fans, all singing their heads off all the way. We had no idea, of course, how lucky I was to be a kid then. I saw Queen, Bowie, Genesis, Heart, Fleetwood Mac, Sparks, The Faces and Roxy Music over an 18 month period. We were so spoiled for talent back then. And it was affordable. Happy days and happy memories. RIP Marc...
It's incredible looking back to that time. I was a glam crazy eight year old boy with a Raleigh Chopper. I knew nothing. Now 2023, and I'd go through it all again in a shot. Grim sometimes, but uncomplicated

Would love to back in time and see Marc Bolan. I`m 62 now and can remember 8 track tapes of T Rex. He didn`t even die from drugs or alcohol. He died in a car crash in a car driven by a female friend. He never liked to drive himself because he was afraid of crashing. He was only 29. It happened in London 1977. I can`t even imagine the music he would have made through all the years `till now.

Lucky you!. Marc was a musical genius, a great performer and a poet. T Rex was unique with almost every song to remember, but also representative in a way of what was going on at the turn 1970s. As to Billy Liar, although this film was made in 1963, just a few years before T Rex was formed, it tells a different story with different music.

Mixed emotions watching this as myself and two friends had tickets for the evening performance. I have to say I was never a fan of either the man or his music though I did buy a copy of Ride a White Swan when it came out. Looking back at this all these years later I still have not changed my mind and grown to like him but recognise he took down barriers and was highly creative in what he did in terms of his music and his style and stage craft. It was a time I lived through and should be thankful I had the opportunity to see him and many others in the raw. I can now see much more clearly his guitar skills and it would have been good to see how these developed as he grew into new musical ventures and challenges. On the night itself the noise of the screaming was intense and rang in my ears for days. So much so the sound quality for the audience was pretty awful. excellent work I was amazed the job everyone did. was it shot originally in 16 mm? other people I was with who saw this were in astonishment at the transfer.
@@DH-3on_sAm everyone on the team did a great job on this project. The producer in particular needs to take a lot of credit. He wanted this restoration to have real integrity and he nailed it. One of the highlights for me was meeting Tony Visconti after we discovered the original live multitracks (which had his handwriting on the original recording reports) in a vault under Tottenham Court Road. Yes - it was shot on 16mm 😎
Really outstanding job there Stewart, obviously the master must have been a lucky bunch of celluloid to have survived so well, but Ringo of that band the er...oh...can`t remember but you know him Ringo he must have shot the thing really well in the first place too plus no silly shots which affected so much otherwise good stuff back then ( no painful experimental zooming and roaming ) Great sounds everywhere here, real nice.

Таких динозавров осталось очень мало. Вымираем-с ...@@ivansagati203
You didn't in 1972 matey. USSR banned our 🎶 a bad influence.
You could only get it on the blackmarket. I have friends in Odessa telling me that.
Marc was wearing a Tophat before Slash was!!What comes around Goes around!!!!!
I have always loved T-rex.What great rockers from days gone by. Historical.
And still rockin' just as they had in the 70s, glad my Father n Uncle loved listening to music of countless genres.
Music is LIFE 💛
Amazing concert footage ,been a T Rex fan for years ,he died way to young ,RIP ❤
Beautiful ❤️🤘😇🤘🌸 this music is forever young ❤️
I SAT HERE WITH A BIG GRIN ON MY FACE,TIMES THAT WILL NEVER RETURN.I WAS A HENDRIX GUY AND MY MATE A T REX GUY.WE USEDTO RIB EACH OTHER AS TO THE OTHERS MUSIC RUBBISH..THE BEST OF TIMES
I was named after Marc but my mum went with the more conventional "k" version of the spelling. Incredible that this was shot a month before I was born and I now get to see it, what a privilege! Funnily enough I ended up going to the venue that this was to become, Wembley Arena, loads of times in the late 80s and saw some great bands live such as INXS, Aerosmith, Simply Red, Level 42, Lloyd Cole and the Commotions and Simple Minds there what would have been 16 years or so later. Wonderful history from a wonderful venue. Thanks for posting!
Without question the best time to be young, absolute magic
The bestest time
BILL LEGEND on the Hayman drums!!! Unrelenting groove and style. Thank you Bill
One of the great singer song writers,,guitarist of our times,,taken from us way to early,,R.I.P.,,,,Marc Bolan
FIFTY TWO YEARS AGO I WAS FEEL SO ..... I WAS LIKE MARC, I WAS LIKE GET IT ON & bang a gong, THE SLIDER ~ ~ ~
This is wild! Stop Making Sense was good, but this is live music at its best, raw and loud and fun. Brillliant, thanks for posting.
I feel a door just opened to 1970. What a fantastic film. Marc Bolan was just an incredible musician. Hats off to Ringo Starr for his work on this film. 👏👍❤️
At work on nightshift & i,ve found this 🤘 headphones in,sorted, what a band, was born in 69,so didnt go to gigs till early 80,s,T Rex looked & sounded amazing,Marc Bolan was a legend, brilliant days, sadly the concert experience is now a different thing.
A Tenament Lady, Mama like a Milkshake ……. What a time to live in The UK 🇬🇧 Music in The ‘60’s & ‘70’s. Boy I’m telling you, and Wembley ! I’m also a former Speedway Rider and fan. Wembley was insane. 130,000 rabid fans. This is mint. Absolutely Spectacular.
Great gig! I was privileged to work on the restoration of this concert film in 2005. (Credit at 1:03:20)
excellent work I was amazed the job everyone did. was it shot originally in 16 mm? other people I was with who saw this were in astonishment at the transfer.
Thanks, Master ✨
Excellent job sir
Thank you💙💜
Really outstanding job there Stewart, obviously the master must have been a lucky bunch of celluloid to have survived so well, but Ringo of that band the er...oh...can`t remember but you know him Ringo he must have shot the thing really well in the first place too plus no silly shots which affected so much otherwise good stuff back then ( no painful experimental zooming and roaming ) Great sounds everywhere here, real nice.
I need to get more into this band and Marc Bolan. Love their music.
Those were the days. T.rex ,the kings of Glamrock. The voice of Marc Bolan is unique .
Bowie reigned then knew when to abdicate. Unfortunately Marc didn't.
I love T rex still.
my greatest star...my greatest inspiration....the man with magic in his head....Marc Bolan rocks on forever....cosmic love to the cosmic dancer, his family, the boys in the band, the wizard that was and is Tony Visconti....and all the fans round the globe...xxx
Is it just me, or do I see shadows of Page ?
I guess tt was the essence of 70's rock.
I'm blown away by the underated skill and musicality of Marc Bolan. The world lost another genius
the day that yellow mini hit the oak tree.
Only ever one bolan ...just loved him 50 years ago and still do ....keeping a bit of marc in my heart ALWAYS ...for me you live on forever
a time when the Great in Great Britain meant something !
This was great. Thanks for uploading.
Live TRex!
I’m so glad this was recorded so I can see and hear it in quality sound and video! TRex was the biggest group in the UK. Over here we only knew Bang A Gong! But he had plenty of other good songs! Wonderful!
I don’t go to concerts anymore so this is perfect! Thanks to whoever posted this and thanks to TH-cam for existing! So I can see this finally!
RIP Marc Bolan-you StarChild you Rocker! Your music lives on!
I'm very pleased I saw t rex on tour at that time it was brilliant 😁🙏
An absolutely wonderful piece of musical history about my main man.
Blessed to have seen them play live at the Bournemouth Winter Gardens May 8th 1971, Mark later wrote in the N.M.E. that it was the first ever concert that the audience truly ‘lost it’ storming down to the front of the stage and refusing to sit down….Happy days and great memories!!!
This is so great!!! Marc was such a doll 😍🤩
1972 back in South Africa we never even had TV till 1976... So we never saw shows like this and only local bands doing covers. But we had all the albums and posters and magazines etc. I was a big TRex fan.
