      I have to side with SCFC47 on this one. As a musician for 14 years now I have been following the career music and interviews of so many artists, music producers, fashion designers, painters etc..
      And the ones with real points and actual wisdom are not those in the limelight.

    • @hansmemling7605

      To be a successful artist who is in the spotlight and can stay there requires a certain type of personality. An artist is tately a scientist just like a scientist is rarely an artist. Both will sound uninformed or stupid if they talk about the field of the other. And those commercially successful artists the most due to the many personality characteristics and backgrounds necessary to want to be in the spotlight.

    • @hansmemling7605
      @hansmemling7605 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Another thing that I always say is that calling the artists the leaders of a generation is not so clever in my opinion. They say Madonna broke down barriers and questioned certain taboos as if she was the leader winning the war all in her own. But I disagree with this because it is the crowd who chooses the artist no the other way around. So if the artist's message is not resonating with the crowd the crowd boos them off stage. She can be called the voice of a generation but not the leader in my opinion.

    • @hansmemling7605
      @hansmemling7605 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @SCFC47 I agree, Madonna's story is a succes because she got what she wanted and dreamt for for many years :fame. And she will do anything to be famous or stay famous. If they slap a political label on her she'll roll with it as long as it serves her bigger goal of being famous. Although I myself cannot ever imagine being this easy for fame I do recognise that she is very competent, had and still has a beatiful career that she can be proud of.

    John is the OG and the most amusing Troll of all time. One of the most interesting Artists to come out of the UK and i grew up on the Sex Pistols and then PIL. He's mellowed in his old age but that devil still lurks within. In his youth - the mad intense stare he would give interviewers, while destroying their questions, plans, and show formats with a grin. Lord of Misrule.

      Agree. What I love a lot about British culture is that a person like him could only be made there in a time where UK still (forgive me if I'm wrong) always celebrated politeness and royal manners. Of course the Stones and other bands rebelled before and Monty Python. But just being so blunt as John is so refreshing. My god how good it must have felt just saying stuff in those days....

He is the most embarrassing thing that I can remember being into when I was a kid and I'm glad that I didn't fall for it for long, soon discovered Lou Reed etc and got on the road to recovery. Guys a knobhead..I'm not getting anywhere near those Ostrich as I don't want to take part in the show's basic premise is to take risks to get rewards for your team etc so you'll get food and entertainment maybe as a result. But not Mr.Lie Down. Oh no. He'll just hang out in there until it gets too much hassle i.e needing to stand up. Then he just says "You lot don't have a look in with me around, so I'll give you a better chance by leaving and putting up with all the shit hotel food and drinks and you can share my bits and pieces which is a great thing to do sacrificing the brilliant jungle for that crappy hotel." it's a tv personality (the interviewer), it's all a representation of something and has it's role presented in particular manner for people's household. The Johnny Rotten character is opposed to that .... that's all this is. This has always been the meaning of punk... the attitude towards a status quo. It is nothing personal towards a man to a man. That's not how television works... entertainment... art. You're looking at it all improperly if you think anything other than that.

    This mans confidence is fantastic. I dont want to be on the receiving end of his trolling but its utterly amusing. He's just got no patience for stupidity and people take his bait. Hysterical.

      It's called being a Lil smart-ass punk who needed his ass kicked many times but.gotnby without receiving any of them for 1 or 2 reasons I'm guessing. He's the type of guy who would call the authorities or his body guard and have him do his fighting or the cops to put whoever in jail or 2. He runs and hides behind the body guards and authorities only to keep saying he same smart-ass comments .

    One of the few things I learnt from John as a teen was why lie? When the truth is so much more powerful. Because I never lie, when I tell someone something that needs to be said, it carries infinitely more weight than a lie ever could. And they know I mean it.

      Hard to believe he's even still alive and relevant . Now he takes care of his wife who has dementia . Man the Pistols kicked merry old England and music dead center in the knackers I suspect they did it for the love of both. We need something like that now

      hotdog By the time that interview was over, The Queen would be raging and order a one way trip to the gallows for Mr. Lydon... but the exchange of words beforehand would go down in both comedy and world history! 🤣
