Operating against chaos without the knowledge of the custodies, the Lion or Guilliman. Only the Emperor knowing of this secret war and providing Omegon the trigger word for the thousands of alpha legionnaires underneath the imperial palace to fight this new war.
So my Daughters of Eden, Alpha Legion Sisters of Battle, can be cannon or at least a real possibility?! That makes me happy enough to make another unit!:)
Lets try and keep this in perspective. While the Alpha Legions achievements in Harrowmaster is impressive, Solomons forces numbers around 1000 marines. So a chapters worth. The Unseen is a strong an stable capital ship base, but with but a single effort, Abaddons alliance created many mightier if less stable such ships in the Arks of Omen. And several cells of the Alpha Legion answered Abaddon’s call and worked for him. The Hydra is fare from so might jet.
The alpha legion have sleepers on terra planted during the horus heresy. There everywhere waiting for one of 3 command phrases to dictate what they do next. This fact is in one of the siege of terra books. I can't remember which one.
Honestly I’m just happy we’re finally putting an end to the alpha legions I am alpharius memes. They moved forward maturely, they acknowledged it was a thing, but now we’re in m42 and it’s high time for new tricks
In battlefleet gothic armada 2, Lord High Admiral Drang, leader of the imperial navy, was a spy, put there by the alpha legion. A high lord of Terra. While the game isn't cannon, it's a good indicator of how far their reach is.
The Alpha Legion aren't as sneaky as they think they are. The Inquisition knows of thier infiltration (plus other chaos factions have had spies rise to the rank of Inquisitior - The "Cognitae" from the Eisenhorn/Ravenor series being one. Speaking of Eisenhorn - he literally has an Alpha Legion Space Marine in his retinue as a "specialist". As for mimicking the Primaris - they might be able to get some of the new organs to work but the key component of the Primaris is the psycho-indoctination it uses which is a really insidious proceedure that has noticable effects on Loyalists who have crossed the Rubicon so trying to make thier own Primaris may in effect be adding "Malware" to thier own marines.
My current head canon, while I admit is biased, is that not only is the Alpha Legion the hardest working faction in either loyalist or traitors but that I dont think the legion ever broke apart in the first place. I personally believe that the Alpha Legion is still loyalists, but that they are trying to counter tzeentch and the only way to accomplish something so absurd is to turn truth to lies and lies to truth. As such I am perfectly prepared to believe that they are currently fractured and working in the interest of chaos but that the entire legion is only doing this while working under a plan as double agents. I believe that somehow they have planned for all of this and prepared some way for them to re-implant their former loyalties at a future time through some sort of mental reconditioning. This makes it possible for every Alpha Legionnaire to fully believe themselves that they are traitors while still working within the scope of their own loyalist plan devised before they willingly mindwiped themselves and fell to chaos. The perfect double agent. Perhaps, just maybe enough to pull one over on a chaos god themselves if devised and orchestrated by a primarch such as Alpharius or Omegon.
There was another video you did on how it appears that the "Celestial Lions" were being picked apart by the inquisition for having the temerity to question them. What if the reason is not merely the murderous ego of one petty inquisitor, but because the inquisitor who ordered the exterminatus simply cannot afford for the Celestial Lions to bring the attention of not only Terra, but of the other inquisitors as well, because the inquisitor that ordered the exterminatus has ties to the hydra?
The galaxy is ripe for the return of Omegon. Imagine his machinations working against both Warmaster and Guilliman as his ‘For The Emperor’ preserving agenda dictates.
Let's be frank, the Alpha Legion has a history of disguising themselves as every other Legion. There is nothing seriously stopping them from pretending to be another Legion and going to chapters homeworld when the majority of the chapter is away and taking recruits for 10,000 years. And it doesn't even need to be a single chapter.
I really think they still are around legion strength however they are now so disparate that it would be impossible to bring them together into a single force.
@markmueller-rougier3098 It kinda feels like grimdark plot service that virtually no alternative FTL technology not reliant on a Hell dimension is being researched.
If the Alpha Legion never took refuge in the Eye of Terror, and no one knows their true intentions or allegiance, why is their armor marked with the blasphemous marks of Chaos?
Some turned to chaos. Some stayed loyal but need to disguise themselves. Some are in-between but would again want to keep up appearances. If everyone thinks they are turned to chaos then that's the best role for them to play.
Hope the Scouring gives us some answers regarding the Alpha Legion without endangering their schtick for example in regards to Eskrador, I don't think anyone really believes Guilliman killed Omegon (or Alpharius) but why would he believe so, how come he doesn't know that Dorn killed Alpharius already, how they deceived a Primarch into thinking he actually fought another and how deep the deceit goes since there are some Alpha Legion warbands that in the current setting do think Guilliman killed their Primarch.
Alpha Legion seems to be near the top in terms of their count of named daemon princes. If their Primarch is actually running things, and isn’t a Chaos champion himself, he’s doing a terrible job of keeping his legion under control.
We never saw them fall to Chaos, only align themselves with the Warmaster. Some warbands have clearly joined Chaos, and AL have plenty of daemon princes, but I don’t think the legion fell in the same sense the Emperor’s Children or Death Guard did.
@@headlibrarian1996 We saw them buying some alien prophecy wholesale, and I thought that was really dumb. Why couldn't they have been a bit smarter like Fabius Bile and just go "Lol No I wont try and lead the emperors children because some alien says it's my destiny" I feel like Horus' fall could have been done better for similar reasons, but at least he was already getting corrupted by that blade wound. Alpharius just kinda went like HURRRRRRRRRR IT'S CHAOS TIME DURRRRRRRRRR. *Cough* At least that's how I feel about it.
Who says they are actual traitors, who says they aren’t working towards the same goal a different way, and I love the alpha legion. I like them a lot because unlike the other legions and storyline as a whole. Baseline humans are the imperium, they are the backbone, in fact they are much stronger than the chapters. The alpha legion modifies and uses humans like they are part of the legion. So it would make a lot of sense to me that they persist. They aren’t tainted by the warp, they respect humanity as the weapons and resources they provide to the legions/chapters. Even at there height, the legions were complimented with tens of millions of baseline soldiers. I love that arrogance in the true traitors who thought they were something better but they were made not created. You can’t just created new space marines and thus there own depravity killed them. There arrogance and short sightedness starved them of the resources, discipline and knowledge they needed to persist.
I truly believe Dorn Killed especially enhanced space musing the project talent information the alpha legion got, It was mentally conditioned to believe he was the primark. The alpha legion has a both of its gene fathers running around in the universe, neither of them are dead.
no... did you not read end of the book ..... omegon felt the other half of his soul die . he felt his twin die and the took over as defacto "alpharius" .... since it hasnt been definitively explored, i dont think guilliman killed the new "alpharius"
The means of his death happened the same way as ferrus, the flash of light etc so the confirmed 1 of them is officially dead, the other rowboat just claims to have killed. In the perfect clever girl moment by not following his precious codex doctrine and utilising an alpha legion tactic. But officially he is not confirmed either way, so he definitely must be because that makes sense
@@lonniedoyle2274 Except that from his point of view. It's all cannon but it's not all true. His twin could have conditioned him to feel that. Because he needed his twin to think he was dead.
@@markmueller-rougier3098 well primarch s give off aura in lore now.... dorn immediately knew him... kinda like AZ knew the lion acrosss battle field...there has yet to be marines that could replicate it.Non primarchs don not have it... only guillimans killing of omegon is suspect ... older writing. If thats your primarch apologies, nothing against Alphas cause they are cool legion. Omegon would feel losing the other half of his soul. I mean you dont see aplharius screwing with omegons brain anywhere else in books .It was not left open to debate ... yes that whole arua in newer writings is wonky. I feel they kinda sacked alpha to give rogal a W cause the loyalist had lost too many. If anything look for the grudge match Omegon will have with dorn at his return(as his history was retconned)
I don't consider the Alpha Legion to be organized into warbands but into cells like spy or sleeper cells. Autonomous units in loose association with each other. Each cell working on it's agenda and plans. And I think this is by design.
This makes sense Alpharius has said they as a legion are always mission focused, they are decentralised. They are kind of like green berets they act by with and through, using guerrilla tactics alongside conventional ones, if the leader is killed they can still continue the mission, they also use whatever tool they need to complete the mission, psyker, xeno tech whatever they will utilise it.
Pesh did say there were thousands of Alpha legion in stasis in the hidden places of terra. Also, didn’t they steal the true copy of the Astarte template? Couldn’t they just create limitless amounts?
Not limitless amounts. However they stole a copy of the geenseed of the raven guard. Version 1.5 at that. So highly stable and yes they do have the knowhow to make astartes...but all the legions do traitor or not. The issue for the traitors is geenseed. Geense3d is yhe crux of making new astartes.
Return? 🤨 _We never left._ 😎 #HydraDominatus Joking aside, the Alpha Legion's real strength isn't their combat prowess (unlike the Black Templars or World Eaters, for example) - although they're no scrubs, but the ability to do maximum damage with minimal resources. Don't forget, it only took a few Alpha Legion marines infiltrating the Raven Guard to decimate them as a legion, by corrupting/destroying their geneseed stockpile. Best to think of the Alpha Legion as the CIA if everyone was build like a superhuman Spec Ops soldier (and far fewer Mormons 😂)
I think if GW can start selling Chaos Primaris kits and make all “first-born” chaos models obsolete and banned from competitive matches, anything is possible with the “lore” of 40K.
Abaddon is just so boring, Huron is a much better inevitable villain for the imperium to face as a big bag space marine man. With regards to Alpha legion I’m convinced they’re at least half traitor and half loyalist and those halves work together at least when we speak of the warbands still working under whatever orders Alpharius/Omegon gave them I think
I bet ya that Huron doesn’t want to be the main villain and just wants to do his own thing, not necessarily truly anti imperium. That’s why he isn’t the main villain.
I hope not, Alpha Legion and word bearers fill a somewhat similar niche in the chaos space marines lore, in the sense that they're both subversives with large cults on various worlds throughout the Imperium. It's even canon that the word bearers and alpha legion cults end up going toe to toe a lot for dominance in these scenes. As a word bearers fan, I'd rather the word bearers get the spotlight, I've always been of the view that they should be the poster boys for Chaos, not the black legion. Word bearers earned it, and their color scheme, of red and silver, makes a good counter balance to the ultramarines blue and gold.
@@talkusbloodeye4624 it was the complete knowledge of the creation of the marines, including all the details of the primarch juice that went into them. Operating against chaos without the knowledge of the custodies, the Lion or Guilliman. Only the Emperor knowing of this secret war and providing Omegon the trigger word for the thousands of alpha legionnaires underneath the imperial palace to fight this new war.
#HydraLordRho Confirmed
So my Daughters of Eden, Alpha Legion Sisters of Battle, can be cannon or at least a real possibility?! That makes me happy enough to make another unit!:)
I love the Alpha legion, they're one of my favorite enigmas in Warhammer.
My favorite legion of 8 foot tall ninjas in power armor, clanking (quietly) around
I really hope we get more Alpha Legion lore. Definitely my favorite.
The alpha legion have sleepers on terra planted during the horus heresy. There everywhere waiting for one of 3 command phrases to dictate what they do next. This fact is in one of the siege of terra books. I can't remember which one.
The emperor creates super soldier warrior spies that defect and doesn’t expect treachery
I thought the Night Lords also didn’t retreat to the eye
Night Lords didn't initially flee into the eye either.
The dragon has three heads. Third primarch?!?!?!?
I doubt Games Workshop would ever do something as ambitious as this.
Can't wait for the alpha legion to return as a full legion and save the imperium
I hope the Many Head Snek Legion goes to war against the Emo Birb Guard.
I wanna see a sneaky boi war.
Love love love these guys
The galaxy is ripe for the return of Omegon. Imagine his machinations working against both Warmaster and Guilliman as his ‘For The Emperor’ preserving agenda dictates.
You left one important thing out, the role of Omegon.
We better not get Alpha Legion before Emperor's Children.....
I really think they still are around legion strength however they are now so disparate that it would be impossible to bring them together into a single force.
I would still like to see a non-Necron faction reverse engineer an inertialess drive.
Maybe the Tau Could pull it off. I am not sure that would sit well with a majority of the fan base.
@markmueller-rougier3098 It kinda feels like grimdark plot service that virtually no alternative FTL technology not reliant on a Hell dimension is being researched.
Omegon is loyal....and Cypher.
@@Alf_Hairy-arseThis!
Alpha Legion is best Renegade Legion!
Hydra Dominatus!
I hope that they don't create Primaris marines but some sort of variant.
Probably getting hunted by Custodes too as Challenge
So how soon will Alpharius/Omegon return?
They are loyal on a Thursday. Hydra Dominus !
Alpha Legion is one of those unique ones that can basically do what ever they want. Just not openly.
If you really think about it the Alpha legion could be the most deadly legion in all of warhammer
My least favourite fall to chaos story is the one of the Alpha Legion.
Glad to see they are more interesting now
We never saw them fall to Chaos, only align themselves with the Warmaster.
Why couldn't they have been a bit smarter like
Fabius Bile and just go "Lol No I wont try and lead the emperors children because some alien says it's my destiny"
I feel like Horus' fall could have been done better for similar reasons, but at least he was already getting corrupted by that blade wound.
Rogalpharius has entered the chat.
Alpharus hanging out behind the emperor’s throne while his clone leads and pretends to be chaos: 🥣🤤
You're killing me w your 30k opinion of the Alpha Legion! They would have absolutely WRECKED a good number of their peers!
@@markmueller-rougier3098 well primarch s give off aura in lore now....
dorn
immediately knew him... kinda like AZ knew the lion acrosss battle field...there has yet to be marines that could replicate it.Non primarchs don not have it... only guillimans killing of omegon is suspect ... older writing.
I believe Alpharius is alive and well, disguised as one of the Custodes that guards the Golden Throne.
That would be amazing!
I am Alpharius, Hydra Dominatus!.
I'm Alf hairy-arse
Why would the alpha legion even want Primaris? Didn't they get the best possible gene seed template from the raven guard?
Solomon? Or maybe Alpharius?
I want Iron Warriors or Alpha Legion to show up, WITH WAY TOO MANY FORCES, and have absolutely no chill.
Return? 🤨 _We never left._ 😎
#HydraDominatus
Joking aside, the Alpha Legion's real strength isn't their combat prowess (unlike the Black Templars or World Eaters, for example) - although they're no scrubs, but the ability to do maximum damage with minimal resources.
Lol 😅
It might be cawl helping loyal part of the hydra
Are there more powerful traitor legions? Yes. However, the Hydra is the knife you don’t see coming that’ll kill you.
Alpharius is dead, but Omegon is still alive.
Must admit Alpha Legion calls to me loudest.
Without abandon i could see huron taking over
Warbands? Probably SOP for them before the HH happened.
I think if GW can start selling Chaos Primaris kits and make all “first-born” chaos models obsolete and banned from competitive matches, anything is possible with the “lore” of 40K.
We are Alpharius, Hydra Dominatus!
Are they the good guys or the bad guys?
Abaddon is just so boring, Huron is a much better inevitable villain for the imperium to face as a big bag space marine man. With regards to Alpha legion I’m convinced they’re at least half traitor and half loyalist and those halves work together at least when we speak of the warbands still working under whatever orders Alpharius/Omegon gave them I think
I bet ya that Huron doesn’t want to be the main villain and just wants to do his own thing, not necessarily truly anti imperium. That’s why he isn’t the main villain.
We can't rise if we were already risen Alpha Dominatus.
Word bearers earned it, and their color scheme, of red and silver, makes a good counter balance to the ultramarines blue and gold.
what if the Alpha Legion have been in cahoots with the Silent King?
going where Necrons can't, hidden in plain sight,
Dark angel's #1 !!!!!
Plus we dont know how much knowledge they stole from the raven guard before they corrupted their gene seed.
All of it. It did state that. Then they gave an altered version to Horus.
@Alf_Hairy-arse OK badly worded on my part. More what exactly the info was and how it could be applied to enhancing new primaris marines.
@@talkusbloodeye4624 it was the complete knowledge of the creation of the marines, including all the details of the primarch juice that went into them. Although they would need some absolute geniuses to improve it and take it further. That would make it unlikely they did much with it between 30k and 40k. Having since seen, killed, and collected primaris marines they could probably reverse engineer the upgrades now.
Hear to comment that Cypher is Alpharius. 😎😂
