That looks delish! My dad always like that kind of dumplings. In pea soup & beef stew especially.
I love ANY kind of make ahead mixes. They make meal prep so much faster.
Great minds think alike again... I use the green painters tape to label like you did! My marker shows up great & it isnt hard to take off like some "real" labels are. I like the idea of this soup collaboration too. I get in a rut sometimes & like the idea of some new soups! Soooo... bring 'em on!! ❤❤
Yay!!❤️❤️❤️
Dumplings are my favorite in any soup
You are both so fun😃looking forward to soup November! God bless!
Bless you too Beverly!
I think this video is wonderful!!! Thank you for sharing with us. My favorite kind of soup in the winter is chili I think. Just warms you up inside.
Oh great!! I’m so glad you like it!!
❤❤❤🕊️
I make vegetable barley soup and everyone likes that one. Thanks
Yum!
What a delicious looking dumpling! Great job!
Thanks friend!🫶
Yall are so fun to watch! Yummies on the dumpling mix!!!!
Thanks friend. 💕 Have a blessed weekend. 😊
My favorite soup is Chicken and Dumplings! The best part are the dumplings.
Right! Dumplings!! Yay! Be blessed friend. 😊
SOUPer!
Ha!
My kids always loved vegetable beef soup. I used ground beef. Always great on a cold day.
Yum!!
Thanks for the dumpling recipe 😋 I love dumplings. My favorite soup is lintel soup or tomato and rice
He’s a good sport for sure. And he likes food so that helps. Ha!
I really liked the dumpling mix. I love drop dumplings and I look forward to making and using it. First time viewer and I look forward to seeing more.
Awwww! Thanks for coming over and hanging out with me. One great thing I like about this recipe is that you can make it into whatever kind of dumplings you want. If you want it more like a drop dumplings and just had a little bit more milk. If you want it to be garlicky, just add some garlic paste or some garlic salt on top. Lots of ways to make this simple recipe. Fun. Be blessed friend.
My favorite soups are any gumbo or chicken tortilla soup. Your soup was perfect for a cold winter day! I’d love an Alaskan soup cozy!
Ooooo! Chicken tortilla!!
You both are amazing!! Can’t wait for soup November!!
Yay!! Jessica is such a sweetheart. 😊
Gurrrlll...I am all about dumplings! Those dumplings look great! This recipe would also fit in Martin Midlife Misadventure Flour It Up series they have going on. I'm looking forward to seeing all the yummy soup recipes! My favorite soup is my grandmother's recipe for her Native American chili soup. 🎉
Oh! I bet that chili soup is awesome.
Haven’t made dumplings in years, this was a good reminder. My favourite soup is BC Ferries Manhattan clam chowder. Wonderful!
Thanks!
My fav soup is a soup based with chicken broth and spicy diced toms and browned sausage.
Oooo! That sounds great!
I've never had dumplings, but that looks delicious 😋 😊
Dumplings are so good! Such a great way to make a soup into a standalone meal that sticks to your ribs. It’s basically a quick bread that’s cooked by being boiled in the soup. So the dumpling takes on lots of moisture and flavor from the soup. So delicious!
I have never had a dumpling, but now I think that I might want to try this! 😊
Wow! It’s like a soup infused biscuit. So delicious!
Nice to have an appreciative husband to enjoy your work :) I don't have a favorite soup...I like them all! ha. I tend to make beef based ones since that what I always have in the freezer. we raise our own so I hardly ever buy other meats.
Hello friend! That’s awesome that you raise your own beef! Maybe we’ll get to do that someday. Mr. Reeve is always a good sport. 😊
That soup looks fantastic, yum. My favourite soup is Minestrone, I usually end up making it so thick your spoon can stand up in the bowl. Looking forward to watching and trying your soups recipes. Stay warm.
Wow! That’s some impressive soup!
Puertorican beef stew... soooooo good
Oh my gosh that sounds amazing! Can you give me the quick rundown of what goes in it?
So excited todo this together!
🫶 so much more fun when you cook with a friend.
Love the pot color!
@@modernhomesteadalaska thanks! Mr. Reeve got it for me for Christmas one year
That looks so good! I am hoping to participate in the "Soup with friends" challenge in November. I am excited to see all the soups and try them. Happy Souping!
Yay! Happy to have join us Miss Bonney. 😊
Thank you for this video. My favorite soups are chicken and dumpling and beef vegetable soup.
Yum! Chicken and dumplings as one of my favorite also. My favorite part is the dumplings. Ha! And so I learned that all soup should have dumplings… Well, most soups. 😊
The dumplings look yummy. I am so excited for the Souping Challenge. The only good soup I can make is Taco Soup. I would love the Alaska soup koozie.
Taco soup is awesome! I save the “chip dust” from the corn chip bags that usually goes to waste to sprinkle on top. Maybe…Chippie glitter? Ha!
My favorite soup is cowboy stew.😊
Yay!!! Is that the one with beans and bacon?
Hi Chrystal and Reeve! Jessica sent me over. Handy to have on the pantry shelf for a good addition to any soup.
Thanks for sharing and have a blessed day!
Hello friend! Glad to have you join us. Have a great weekend. 😊
Come over from Jessica, now a subscriber here as well. Looking forward to some binge watching to catch up lol. Watching from England, UK
Awwww! Thanks sweet friend! There’s a lot of videos to catch up on for sure. Ha! Videos we’ve done in the last six months are super fun, but the ones before that…aye yi yi… we were just learning how to video. It’s been a journey for sure. So bless your heart if you make it through any of those older videos. Ha! We’re taking a break from videoing for the next two weeks when we go on a trip out of the country. But we’ll be back in action right before Christmas. I absolutely love Jessica, what a wonderful and real person. Hope you enjoy our videos, and have a very blessed weekend. 😊
Never had dumplings .. I think I have to try that :)
Yum!
my favourite soup has to be leek and potato. some simple veg stock, an onion, 3 large leeks and 4 large potatoes. i also add some garlic to mine. cooked in the slow cooker for 8 hours, hand blend it, add a bit of yogurt or cream at the end with plenty of salt and black pepper :) its also a firm fav of my husbands
Holy smokes that sounds awesome! I’ve tried to grow leeks so many times, but I think they’re allergic to my garden. Ha! Be blessed friend.
My all time favorite soup is Seafood Gumbo. Those dumplings look fantastic! I copied the recipe to try. God bless sweetie.
I really hope you like it. Thanks friend. ❤️
I usually make up one batch of chilli during the winter My Husband isn't a big chilli fan so most of it gets put in the freezer for me to pull out when I get a chilli craving.
Smart!
I was just talking to a friend about dumplings and how i never make them. Cooked a small ham shoulder roast last night so i see some ham and bean soup cooking soon!
Yum!!
Oooo! Looks sooo yummy! I'm a sucker for dumplings!😅
Ha! Have a great Saturday Josh.
Thanks for the dumpling mix recipe. I just do what my mom did and cut Pillsbury pop open biscuits in quarters and add those to my broth. Easy peasy. Lol. I like using coconut oil. I'll have to make quarter that amount since it's just me. This will be a good way for me to use up my milk powder. I hate the taste of powdered milk so it's added to recipes. I don't like Red lobsters biscuits because it's not cheesy enough for me. I have a massive rosemary plant. I gave a neighbor some so I could thin it out. Beef stew is on the menu for tomorrow now. That looks yummy. The look Reeve gives you is gold. Wish I could find me someone that looks at me that way. He sure was excited about having more on the stove. Stay safe and warm my friends ☺️
He’s definitely a keeper that one.😊 I’m super jealous of your rosemary plant. So jealous! We really love Rosemary, but I don’t think there’s anyway I could get it to grow here let alone over winter.
Well now I am hungry again. Thanks lol.
Ha! Be blessed friends
I like your style! And those soup koozies are great! I am using one now while eating chicken and dumplings and watching this video. Those colors are so pretty! This one is red with flowers on one side and KC Chiefs on the other. That way whether I’m using it, or the hubs, we have one that we like, since they are reversible.
That’s an awesome koozie!
Those dumplings looked amazing! Will have to try this recipe. They are something I don’t think to make. Until now! Can’t wait to see your remodel and all the soup to come. 🙂❤️🙏🏻Val C
I think my two favorite things about this recipe are that it can be shelf stable, and you can make it whatever variety of dumpling you want. It really makes soup into a stand alone meal. I am so excited to have more than insulation behind my woodstove. So excited!
Hey Miss Val, can you send me an email? I’d like to ask you something outside of the comment section.
I’m from Texas and I’d absolutely LOVE that Alaska coozie! Our favorite soup is Beef Vegetable Soup. Our second favorite is Beef Chili.
Hello friend! We have family in Somerset. 😊
@@FlatTireFarmHomesteadingAlaska Really! That’s 3 hours south of me….its a small world
@lucyl2770 awesome! Have a blessed weekend friend. ❤️
I came over from Modern Homestead Alaska and I’m excited to see what y’all are about.
Hello friend! We are happy to have you hang out with us. Have a blessed weekend.
I may have to start making dumplings again 😊
I like this recipe because it’s so versatile. I only have to make it once, and I have dumplings for a long time to come. I hope you enjoy it friend.
Just made a pot of hardy beef and vegetables soup today. Your dumplings looks delicious 💖
Yay!! Soup!!
We make home made egg noodles in home made chicken soup.
Your soup looked delicious !
Yum!! Sounds awesome! Be blessed friend.
Looks like I'm gonna need a bigger bowl.... Dumpling challenge accepted! -Dusty
Whoop!!
Going to try this mix out. I usually use can biscuits as dumplings, but dont always have them in fridge available.
Great! I hope you enjoy it. Be blessed friend.
I am going to try your dumplings in my chicken soup
Yay!! Let me know it you like it. 😊
Tis the soup season now. That looks wonderful. I'm not much of a dumpling fan but my hubby is. He loves them. Can't wait to see your project. Hard to pick a favorite soup since I love so many different kinds.
Do my Canadian neighbors have some kind of really cool soup that we are completely oblivious to that you could share with me? Some magical secret Canadian soup? We have salmon head stew… I’m sure you guys have to have something better than that. Ha!
@@FlatTireFarmHomesteadingAlaska well I'm french Canadian. All my family are from Quebec. So my dad is the first of his family to move to Alberta and my mom's family moved to Alberta when she was a child. So I grew up eating split green pea soup made with the ham bone stock and ham chunks. It is one of my favorites. I can't say that I've eaten any kind of fish head soup but I've had plenty of fresh lobster, crab, tiny shrimp, welks, salt cod, muscles and trout on my trips to Quebec. My dad grew up in the Gaspe region and when I go back I get my fill of fresh seafood!!
There is another wonderful thing I got from there and you'll have to look it up. It is amazing stuff, it's called Herbes sale. You can make it yourself and it is shelf stable for years because it is mixed with salt. I've used it for years in my soups, stews, roasts, etc etc etc. I'm done now 😅
@@marlenereimchen9141 that’s so awesome! Thank you so much for sharing a bit of your family history with me. Those things are always so interesting to me. I’ll have to look up your magical salt seasoning.
Looks delicious
Thanks!
Made a big pot of gumbo today. We ate until we were ready to pop, then the rest gets divided up and into the freezer. Sometimes we can up leftover soup, sometimes we freeze it, but as soon as temps start to drop a bit, I'm souping st least once a week.
Sounds awesome!!!
Definitely going to try this!
Yay!!
I have to try this. Bisquick is getting too expensive! ❤
Right?! For me, Bisquick has always been too expensive to buy. That’s actually what inspired me to start making my own mixes a long time ago. Have a great Saturday friend.
Last week I made a broccoli cheddar soup In homemade bread bowls. I have found a bread bowl recipe that is super easy and has 5 ingredients!
This would be a wonderful mix for a topper for chicken pot pie that uses biscuits!
Ooh! That’s genius! I’m going to try that! I do love me some chicken pot pie. Ha!
@@FlatTireFarmHomesteadingAlaska that is my way of making it! I put the filling in the bottom of the pan and add biscuits to the top. It is a lazy way of making it and I am a lazy cook some days
@@Mindy56743 Way easier than making an actual pie. I’m in!
@@FlatTireFarmHomesteadingAlaska my kids love it that way and pie crust is saved for desserts!
I love loaded potato soup but I can’t seem to get it right when I make it. I need to try again.
Oh yeah! That’s one of my favorites!
Hi from Savannah Georgia! I have never seen a soup kosey ,what a wonderful idea! I also have never been to Alaska and I'm still hoping to do that. I absolutely love making soup "all kinds" but my favorite is ham and bean! I was wondering if you could can the leftovers? Ps love your videos makes me happy 😊
We are definitely blessed to bring you joy. I often can leftover soups, because I make big batches at a time. Of course, it depends on what goes in the soup, right? I don’t normally can milk-based soups. But things like beef stew or chicken soup can up beautifully. Mr. Reeve loves ham and bean also. 😊
I like that you use livestock salt but I'm curious if you've checked to make sure there aren't added minerals that would put it outside of human tolerances.
Good question: I actually spent over an hour speaking with the gentleman that’s been selling the Redmond livestock salt for many many years. He told me that people have been eating that salt for years. And he provided me some information to help address concerns if any of the blasting material still remain in the salt after it was mined. He provided me the trace analysis testing for the livestock salt. I’ll provide you a link to that document. I did a video about the Redmans livestock salt, and many people were concerned about the fact that livestock salt is blasted. After I did my research, I was very comfortable feeding this to my family.

Where do you store your dumpling mix...... fridge or shelf
Hey friend! Just sits on the shelf in the kitchen. 😊
Quick question for this dumpling mix... could it be rolled out & cut like for traditional chicken & dumplings or would they fall apart? Thx
I don’t think it’ll fall apart. Just adjust the liquid to the consistency that you want.
@@FlatTireFarmHomesteadingAlaska Thanks. I'll try them that way after I try them the way you demoed.
Good morning friend! Debbie from survivinglifeunplugged here. I can't talk and measure either lol. Ohh! I want to invite you to another # collaboration some of my other friends on here are doing called #flouritup. They're wanting to help others learn how to start using flour and make their own home made baked goods and treats. This would be great for that and those beautiful banana crunch muffins too if you're interested. I'm going to do a biscuit and cobbler video for that event. I'll email you the channel name or reply with it here if you want so others can see it. Love ya girl! P.s. thank you for this recipe I'm going to make this to have on hand.
Hello beautiful friend! Sounds good, O’ll check it out. 😊❤️
