      That drains 2 days worth of energy for me, so I'm literally sleeping 48hrs on the Weekend and than bam school again. It's like if I never even had a weekend to begin with.

    Make sure to always drink lots of water and stay hydrated, it always help you to have energy along your day.
    If you are feeling not comfortable about your habits then don't be in conflict and change them even little by little. Habits can always be changed with effort and good practices.
    A video giving tips to keep motivation to change habits would help us a lot 😜

    Number 2 used to be my worst habit when I was younger. My logic: "Usually, when I think of the worst that can happen next day, it doesn't turn out as bad as I expected." I didn't realize how that constant negativity affected my mental health and energy though...

    I did nearly everyone of those habits when I went to school. Now that I am sitting at home because the schools are closed, I started to care more about myself and I got rid of those habits. I'm feeling better than ever.

    Honestly if circumstances weren’t so tight I would be able to conquer most of these. In fact, I was doing better for awhile when it wasn’t as bad because I was able to motivate myself little by little each day. So if anyone is struggling with any of these, have hope that you’ll be able to manage them. It’s possible and I wish all of you the best of luck.

    After a stroke I’ve been overthinking for years for a way to get out of the situation. It has gotten me a long way, but it has become less hulpful. Unfortunately I’ve become so good in overthinking over all these years (even pre stroke) that it’s hard to stop now. I’m aware of this so I’m constantly redirecting my thoughts to the present moment.

    To anyone who has all these habits, remember that it's not your fault so don't feel depressed or downhearted. And if you want, you can change these slowly yet effectively. You can talk to someone or just try watching some TH-cam videos that may motivate you. Taking the first step is hard but once you take it, the process is smooth. Believe in yourself and love yourself! (As BTS said 💜)

    Overthinking honestly takes up a big part of my day. It's something I'm working on but overthinking is honestly what makes me feel soooo drained within a couple hours of waking up

      Me too, especially once I realised how long I have been doing it. I’ve been doing guided meditation for a few weeks now and that helps so much, it’s like observing the thoughts without thinking that they are true or false. And Wimm Hoff breathing exercise is helping being more connected to the body, and bringing the attention out of the loop of the mind. Hope you find some peace, I know what it’s like, it’s really tiring. You can find peace of mind, take care 💚

    I’ve always complained about being exhausted in the morning after 8 hrs of sleep but now I realize it’s from playing scenarios in my head the night before. Now I know where all my mental energy was going and it was right in front of my face.

    I’m typically heathy eater, however I went on a junk food binge for about a month. It REALLY messed up my sleep, energy, and mood every single day until I broke the cycle.

      If it has a mile long list of ingredients, or comes from a cheap fast food restaurant, I definitely consider it junk food, and it’s going to be bad for you. Everyone’s body is different, so some will be more affected than others, and age plays a huge part too. I was eating junk food for every meal for over a month and I’m in my early 40s...my body couldn’t handle it without major side affects. When I was in my 20s it was no problem. They say that your body takes care of you when you’re young, but you have to take care of your body when you’re old.

    Thank you for your presentation and advice. Analyzing one's past is a way to learn from it. It is impossible to predict the future, but events run in cycles. Memory is part of learning. But the announcer was right when saying don't overthink events. But the narrative of History comes from analysis of previous events that created the present.

      Yes you’re the only one lol. For most people 5 hours really isnt enough. 6 hours at the least is needed for optimal restore

    This would work: no children, no animals, no cars, just take care of yourself and don't sacrifice your life for anyone but yourself and your goals. This is how I live my happy freedom, no responsibilities for others, just responsible for myself.

      Animals are nice tho. Something like a cat who doesnt take a lot of energy but just lives together with you as a companion

    I need this after a long hours of work today. I feels bad in some situation while worked and didnt have a chance to talk or discuss about it. So I just keep it to myself till I went home. Then this video appears in time and I feel relief after watched it. Thanks a lot Psych2go.

    I've been exercising again for about a week. I work from home now, and constantly sit at my desk. My brain is exhausted at the end of the day, but my body wasn't doing much. I am feeling better slowly but surely. I am also eating better.
    If you have trouble staying asleep or falling asleep, find something soothing to think about. I used to have a lot of anxiety at bedtime because it takes a while to fall asleep. I am a writer, so now I think about my stories at bedtime, so I'm being productive and not stressed or anxious as I fall asleep.

    I've 7 out of those 8 that you mentioned. Except for unhealthy eating, I've all of those, from negative sleeping to sporadic sleep routine. What I'm most guilty about are procrastination and unnecessarily oversleeping to avoid reality

    Do we choose to be negative and pessimistic or do we came to a point where life experiences which were/are so hard to cope with that your survival instinct just takes you through?
    If I am constantly going against the wall, shouldn't I think on the situations to try to understand what's the pattern and make things different next time?
    If something went really really bad isn't that natural for you to figure out why and how to avoid it...?
    What if the answer isn't obvious and occurances dependent on mischievous behaviours which rational can't explain?
    Is it really possible to forget and let go?
    What about the piece of us that was lost...? The one piece we loved and cherish like the most precious thing we had...?
    What if after all you go through, you don't recognise the person you see in the mirror...?
    Yes! You are right about all you described. I can easily see myself in almost everything it was said... but can all I have been through just be described in such a simplistic way, appearing to be just a whim?

    when i get negative thoughts i never try to battle with them, i just let them come through and try to keep pointers on them so they stay in a perspective that ultimately benefits me. thoughts in themselves are neither good or bad but the less you do to make them flare up, the less burden they will be and because the thoughts are the one trying to get going, eventually they will burn out and disappear

    Overthinking about overthinking can drain you pretty fast. But trying to think from the perspective of another person and match that person's every bit of personality so you know what to say can be even worse

    1,2,3,7,8 are all things I continue to struggle with. I used to workout quite a bit, but have fell off the last year.
    I can't seem to get out of this pit. Fighting for so long. Nearly Every shining light that have found its way into my life seems to eventually be eclipsed by darkness sooner or later. The voice of logic and hope in my mind is constantly over powered by the screaming of negativity, regret, fear, hopelessness and despair. I'm at a point of, if this continues any longer, what's the point.
    I no longer just pray that it'll get better, I also pray that I don't wake up when I sleep.

    Definitely guilty of looking on the negative side and overthinking. I just got two emails from college tutors and read them in a negative tone. I was beginning on the usual self sabotage spiral.
    Turns out they were far from negative. They're both really pleased with me 😁

    I was depressed, so sleeping late and eating crap was a daily routine. I fell asleep during the day also.
    Antidepressants didn't work. Energy Drinks worked but only so far. I felt so tired all the time.
    I made tiny (!) changes in my diet, made hugesalads with good dressing but still allowed myself chips. I tried to get my sleeping g schedule in check, but allowed myself to stay in bed a little longer (awake) if needed.
    I can't fall asleep during the days anymore. Having huge carbs meals was a way to numb myself. (I also got therapy.) I now have the energy I wanted and with no medication. It's not perfect but it's good.

    I didn't have the habit of having a nutritious diet. Having understood its importance (and realizing that mom was right all this while), I have started eating the best food!
