A beautiful rendition of this beautiful song if farewell that any visitor to Fiji will remember long after they've left. My brother spent many years in Fili. He recently passed, and we played this at his grave side at his funeral because he loved the song, as he loved Fiji. It always brings a tear to my eyes.
My grandfather Leonaitasi Saiti Lolohea's only fa'etangata (Motherman or, in other words, uncle), the Honourable Lord Kiu Tu'ivakano, penned the original version of this song, 'Si'i Lile Viola Losehina,' in 1915. The song, which compares Queen Salote to exquisite flowers, was created as part of a directive from Honorable Tungi Mailefihi, leader of a singing group in Vava'u to which Lord Kiu belonged for each member to compose a song for their wedding day. During a Po-Hiva (a night of singing) in Fiji, a Fijian named Taitusi, a policeman, approached Lord Kiu to request the use of his song as a 'Hiva Kakala' (love song), adapting it into Fijian for a Tongan woman he loved. Since then, this song has become cherished among our beloved brothers and sisters from Fiji as a poignant farewell melody. Mei he Api ko Tau'akiloto ki he fonua faka'ofo'ofa o Fisi... Ofa atu.

Round of a thousand applause, what a extraordinary rendition of a beautiful Fijian song, so graciously sung by the amazing NZ Symphony Orchestra & Signature choir, this song evokes wonderful memories as the last verse sings - Over the ocean your island home is calling, happy country where roses bloom and splender, Oh if I could but journey there beside you, then forever my heart would sing in rapture.♥

This song doesn’t belong to you sure the composition of music might be, but hell 😅 this is a public event not a official recording hence there is no evidence of copyright infringement
Its a tribute to fijian language that our NZ brothers and sisters are singing in our tongue...now it will piqued interest all over the world about our wonderful language...dou dolava na yalomudou ...qori vakasaraga eratou veisau taka na qaqa ni sere se beca noda vosa.....they showcasing our unique language....Vinaka
why is it a copyright issue? just because they didn't mention the person who took the video? I see you've also claimed copyright issue of the same performance on another channel. This is not the same video that's posted on your channel. It's a different recording altogether of the same performance. Just let people enjoy it...wherever its posted!

Sorry to hear that, but I'm sure he would love the kind gesture of playing this song as a final send off as it is for!
Vinaka ❤
