A1up is nothing compared to Atgames. I have 3 modded A1Up cabinets and a modded A1Up countercade. All of my A1Up cabinets went into my 5 year old son’s room and pushed out of the way for my Legends Ultimate which now is the only cabinet I need in the main living area of my basement next to the pool table. Atgames is superior in every way.
I am an arcade collector and have 4 full sized arcade cabinets and 10 pinball machines. I can tell you lots of collectors look down on the 1ups and for good reason. My friend got a 1up for christmas and I helped him put it together. It was a bit of a pain and took longer then I expected. Also he had to get a riser to bring it up higher so adults could also play it. My boss at work, knowing I was into arcade games bought me the Atgames Arcade Legends cabinet for Christmas from Sams club. It was my first experience being around one in person. I can tell you as most already have, this thing blows the 1 ups out of the water. Buttons and joysticks feel more like the original you would find on arcade cabinets. I was very impressed with the quality of it in fact. It went together very easy in less than 1 hour. Arcade 1 ups you have to mount the monitor and everything. This comes with the top portion of the cabinet already assembled. You just have to build the lower part of it. Also it does not need a riser to be played by most adults. I am 5'x'11" and can play it comfortably. I was impressed once I noticed the HDMI and USB ports and that led me here to youtube to do some research about this thing as I didn't know much about it. I was pleasantly surprised to see that you can get the coinopsx program and add so many more games onto it just by adding a thumb drive to it. My friend was kicking around the idea of making his 1up into a multi cade and the parts list was pretty nuts. The fact that you can basically just download coinopsx onto a thumbdrive and plug it into the cabinet and get it going is amazing to me. I started the download last night, got everything onto the flash drive and just need to go home and plug it in and install it on the cabinet. There is lots of helpful videos on youtube showing how to do this. Here is one that I used to learn how to do it. th-cam.com/video/T1HMqdc0VR0/w-d-xo.html Of course if this seems too difficult to do, you can purchase the flash drives already preloaded on ebay for around $40. Either way, I am very happy to have my arcade legends cabinet. It really is just what I needed because I am running out of room for games and I was looking for a one does all cabinet and was actually going to build a full size one myself but this thing has really captured my heart so far and as long as it holds up, I believe it will be a keeper for sure.
Well aren't you guys just charming as hell! ;) Great video and review! I've had my ALU for about 4 months, and still love it. New versions of CoinopsX are insane too, most games have the original cabinet art and controls now. I did get OTG to work with Steam (I have a 2070 Super, which is worth $2million dollars used on ebay right now), but for some games like Pinball FX3 the delay was a problem, even over ethernet. There's also a list of supported games over Steam and those mostly work, with the controls mapped out well enough.
Great review!....after selling my modded tmnt arcade 1up cab I learned alot from that time consuming build about practicality and functionality, which took a lot of time I didn't have....at games seems to have all my boxes checked and doesn't cost a fortune to do so.
I'm near the same boat! Moddling arcade1up is a pain, I got one only to mod it, but didn't know there's sooo many more components and knowledge and $$$ you need to throw in to it. Thinking about getting this arcade, it's like a dream come true.
I gutted mine without destroying original hardware ; through a old gaming pc in the bottom , installed bigbox , mame , steam etc.. atm 6k games. No extra cost, no streaming.. really awesome. Using the at games control board via usb.
Thinking about selling a couple of my Arcade1ups and getting this. How do I add games? I’m pretty clueless - am I able to buy a pre installed thumb drive?
Great review! Debating to get one. Got a tmnt arcade1up 2 years ago for modding, but jeez, seems impossible. So just collected dust. Wanting to get this one really bad, but the pricing is somewhat high, more valuable than arcade1up 1-3 games cabinet though.
I feel ya! I have a Star Wars sit down Arcade1Up cab I bought to mod so I can play racing and flight simulator games. It's sitting in my living room collecting dust too. I need to slot some time to do it!
Not even two years after purchase, the control deck stopped working. Bad enough it had audio lag issues, but now you can't even use it. Seems to me that something costing over half a grand should last more than a couple of years.
@@johnyracercat Pretty sure you can. I've seen people replacing buttons with different ones. The trackball, and spinners might be a bit tricky. The monitor can be replaced, but it's difficult to access. Speakers should be replaceable.
One other question. . How hard would it be to put a raspberry pie in here ? I want the feast way since I’m mostly computer illiterate but I hear they coinopsx does NOT save high scores . Is this true ? I’m getting multiple answers. I need a simple solution that saves high scores .any thoughts ?
Great review. Picked mine up at Sams 2 days ago. I need some direction. I want to play Ms. Pacman, Super Mario Bros and Frogger on this cabinet. How do I go about making this happen?
@@RyanTheHandyman absolutely. I was only 4 arcade 1up cabs in. This cabinet shut it down. Just purchased a flash drive with 1500 more games on it. Just based on the expandability alone that this cab offers, you really don't need to buy more cabs.
Great review. Think l will forgo arcade 1up and buy this instead. 500 bucks with option to download ton of games is way better than 700 for 2/3 games on arcade 1up
Can you PLEASE HELP! I can't connect to wifi- they're saying my firmware needs to be updated, and I just brought this home a week ago! How do I do this? I have a MacBook Pro- is there a way to do it without an ethernet cable? Thanks!

Bought one of these and my grand kids are loving the same games I grew up with. Love this machine for the money.

QOTD: Muticade or mutiple cabinets to fill the room?
My approach is multiple multicades to fill the room. XD

could the roms on that machine be changed via usb? like if i were to say add a version of fix it felix jr with arcade accurate sounds and such

The operating system and the repeat sign-in issues are the two problems I have with the system.
Yes! The sign in every power-on is quite frustrating now.

I bought the MVSX and Im really happy. Not sure I need this however it does look appealing
You definitely get access to tons more games with this, and controls for spinner and trackball games.
What's the size of the marquee, ??x?? ? I'd definitely would want to change that out.
