I have the 1.0 version that I bought from Walmart. I also had it shipped. Everything was perfect. I spent perhaps 30 minutes putting it together and there was a slight wobble that was fixed with a piece of cardboard under one of the corners (it can't be seen once it's in place).
I do know that your bezel/screen should not be moving around like that. And I also know that these are in high demand and thus hard to find. But I would be tempted to return it considering the condition it was in when it was received.
Someone was in a bad mood either when they were assembling it, shipping it, or both.

I got one from Sam’s Club for Christmas and it’s THE most popular thing right now in my house. From my kids as young as 8 to my wife, everyone loves it and it came super solid with no issues. I imagine someone ordered the one you got, online and decided to return it to the store.

    I built my own machine.
Was so nice, I had people request machines afterwards. I sold ten afterwards. They take a month to build in my spare time..
No MDF or cheap materials...all birch 3/4" plywood, oak braces and aluminum. Happ controls with cherry microswitches, 1/4" tempered glass screen protector, 200 watt Subwoofer with Stereo 6.5" Speakers hidden in top (also doubles as a jukebox with a 5tb HD full of music, damn near every song written since the 40's, with full graphic UI to add more songs (or videos) via network) When not in use, works as an alexa show. Total machine is covered in black formica, and then the graphics are applied. You can pour a bucket of beer on it, and continue playing. Will last forever. no warping, peeling, nothing. Has diamond-plate kick plate at your feet. I was a custom audio guy for years, so my workmanship is top notch. overbuilt? hell yes. But hey I built it for myself with no intention on building another.. after 11 machines, I'm done.

That sucks that you had a less-than-perfect experience. I have a generation 1 ALU and it's been amazing since day one. Mine came in perfect condition and hasn't given me any trouble at all. The BYOG feature to play ROMs was the main selling point to me initially, but I've been finding myself playing the classic arcade titles that came packaged in more and more. I hope you stick with AtGames and give them another shot.

The reason for the $1 an hour charge is because it’s “streaming” off of a computer in the “cloud” and not stored on the machine itself, but you can do that from a PC and there is no charge.

Oh geez. Got one on the way. LOL Fingers crossed. maybe they've fixed the light bleed issue, by now. From the images you showed, I'd have to suspect that unit was a returned product, and whomever had it before, didn't repack correctly, or the factory didn't repack correctly. One would think the factory would have a stock of spare parts, to support customers. I'm guessing you could reinforce those broken parts with a piece of 1/4 inch metal with holes in it, from a DIY shop, or a piece of wood, on the inside facing surfaces. Very sorry to see your unit arrive in that condition. You might be able to get those graphics to lay flatter, if you apply a light coating of fabric adhesive (non-permanent), to the back of the graphics, and then reinstall them. I'd paint those clips black, though. Personally, I'll likely go without the graphics, turn the kick plate around, to just show black, and just have the machine be the black monolith, from 2001, in the room. LOL Thanks for the video.

This is no joke, The Legends Ultimate is a production lottery. We had mostly all these problems plus others. Our D board was split in half, T-mould was scratched and chipped along the edges, E Board had a chip taking out of the corner, Side panel had a scratch dead center. various edges were chipped and needed touch up marker. As we slide the panels in we noticed this haze on the edge of the panels. We started wiping the haze with a microfibre cloth and water. Huge amounts of black paint was coming off the panels from, I am guessing, the veneer overspray? We got the overspray paint off the panel and they looked normal again. We finally got it assembled, and the display wouldn't turn on. Opened it up and the monitor power switch wasn't even attached. After it finally turned on we have a chunk of plastic stuck in the bottom right corner of the LCD (inside the actual LCD panel). Further to this, the LCD panel was also not even assembled properly, we have a strip of exposed lighting from the panel in the top right hand corner of the screen too (total eye sore when sitting and playing the machine). The acrylic plexiglass is scratched with swipe marks from a dirty cloth underneath the bezel from whoever assembled the unit. This has been more work and worry than excepted. We wrote atgames to hear their response, but have not heard back yet. We may just end up shipping this back to samsclub, but we are debating even attempting an exchange. This is way more production faux pas than normal.

@@bigmacfullerton7870 sams club will send a replacement but hasn't asked for the old one back yet. The machine has further problems. The player one joystick doesn't register the up position properly anymore. This seemed to happen after a firmware update. It's basically a brick now. Hoping at games can warrant this, but they told me to wait for a firmware update which came and went and did nothing. Sadly, communication with at games (while they try to be helpful) can take days for a response. I may be SOL. I got the 1.0, I'm very happy with it. The marquee did arrive cracked but I imagine that's because of how unwieldly the 1.0 box is to handle, I'm sure the delivery people had trouble, I had to get help to bring it upstairs into my apartment. Atgames replaced it for free, albeit about four months later, but at least they did it. It was just a cosmetic issue so it didn't bug me much. I also replaced the plastic screws with metal screws of similar size spray painted with glossy black enamel paint (stick them into a piece of cardboard, follow paint instructions and spray over them, wait for them to dry) because it looks nicer and they're more durable. I keep hearing about the poor quality of the 1.1, sorry you had to go through this. Most of your issues do seem to be through poor handling as well, but the loose screen and crappy side art panels are the two biggest complaints about the 1.1 that are the fault of poor quality.

Wow man, just saw this, you did a great review of the product. I must say, I didn’t have any of the problems you had with my Gen 1 ALU, sad to see so many QC issues. I have a theory that the version 1 Sam Club unit is superior in quality to the rest. It seemed like the Walmart v1 was a step down and it appears this one could be a step down from that. I don’t “dislike” Atgames as someone suggested in your comments section but it seems people that review it are not even remotely as critical about it’s flaws so I appreciate your honest take on the experience. I hope you’re able to get some enjoyment out of it. I view this as a easy to use mame emulation machine because the BYOG is really how most people enjoy it. I was in the arcades in the mid 90’s - 2000’s so most of the built in titles with the exception of the SNK ArcadeNet games, I don’t care for. Anyway, great review bud 👍🏻

Retro Ralph looked to me like he got a damaged box. Also, Gen2 looks way different with regards to the packaging and the graphics. I did get mine at Sam’s from the first release so maybe you’re right about it being superior. Since they added the Taito games I’ve been on it as much as my Switch. And I’ll agree that I never use the ArcadeNet feature. It’s pointless if you already have the rom and can use the Addon tool. I also changed my marquee, flipped the front panel, and used vinyl to blacken out the graphics on each side. It’s a full blown Polybius cab now. I used blue duct tape for the stripes. Looks decent from a distance. I could talk retro arcades all day!

Wow that is some poor QC on their part--hope you're able to find one in better condition! I just picked up a 1.1 version today at my local Sam's--it was the last one there. I haven't assembled it yet but all the parts appear to be undamaged. Crossing my fingers that the display in my unit doesn't exhibit bleed like yours did--I'd be annoyed by that too.

    • @tonyoh2310

Update--I finished assembling it; everything seems to work correctly...well, at least the most important parts. Unfortunately four of the LEDs on the LED strip that backlights the marquee panel are DOA; what sux about that is that the dead LEDs are all in a row on the right-hand side of the panel, thus you can notice the right side of the marquee is dimmer compared to the rest of the panel. Emailed AtGames support, told them returning/exchanging it at a Sam's Club is not an option since if not anything else, there's no guarantee that the replacement unit won't have any issues; waiting to hear what they say.

I had the same problem with the mystery of the missing HDMI and USB ports. AtGames responded to my email request for help very quickly. However, their proposed solution doesn't seem so great. I've copied and pasted their response below...
"Although it doesn't happen too often, sometimes adhesives can come loose during shipment due to things, such as heat or humidity during transit.
If your monitor bezel is beginning to detach at the lower portion, it may cover up the control strip with your HDMI and USB ports.
To fix this, we suggest using some 3M double sided tape, as shown in the picture we're including in this reply.
The first step is to gently lift up from the bottom of the bezel to further separate it from the monitor.
Next, gently work your way to the sides and continue towards the top of the bezel.
Be very careful that you do not pull hard on the top of the bezel. Just the upper corners, as there is a cavity in the upper middle area.
Pulling too hard on that area may cause damage to the bezel.
Once you have removed the bezel, clean off any remnants of prior adhesives.
Next, add a single strip of double sided tape above and below the LCD on the black backing surrounding the LCD.
Once the tape is in place, be sure to wipe down and clean the surface of the monitor bezel before re-attaching it.
Now you are ready to re-attach the bezel to the monitor.
Start by lining the bezel up toward the top of the black backing area and firmly press down on the upper and lower edges of the bezel to ensure the adhesive
    properly secures the bezel.
    That's it!
    "
I tried to follow these instructions, but that bezel seems too flimsy and I think it will break. I asked AtGames if they will send me a new one if it cracks -I'm waiting for the response.
To be fair, they offered me a $20 coupon towards their e-store or 20 BYOG hours for compensation. I just want the product they advertised. To be continued...

Well, I got one, back in January. It has horrible audio lag. Tried reporting it to customer support, but they waited a month, to tell me to report it to technical support, and three weeks later, they told me to report it to customer support. This went on three more times, by which time, the warranty was expired. Basically, AtGames stole my warranty. When a supervisor finally contacted me, asking for a video of the problem, they flatly denied the problem, and said I was "perceiving" the problem. I'm a professionally trained video editor, and I know audio video desync when I see, and hear it. LOL. Other problems have started happening, lately, like garbled audio, if a game is left running more than a couple of hours. So, I finally broke down, and bought Arcade Modup's Raspberry Pi, and LCD marquee kit. Gotta tell ya', there's absolutely NO delay between audio, and video. I think I'll permanently bypass the AtGames assets, now. I've already canceled the AtGames Arcadenet account. Definitely was an unwise decision to go with that cabinet. Oh, and the joy sticks squeak, like a beat up old car's suspension. LOL Oh, the cabinet isn't even all wood, like the Arcade1ups. The core component is mostly plastic. Only the base, side, and back panels are wood. Thin wood, at that. For a full sized cabinet, the panels should've been 3/4 stock.

    Bluetooth Controls - Switch / PS3 / XBOX 360/ Wii U Compatible?
So I know that the newest Beta firmware has the ability to do Bluetooth controls from the cabinet controls. What I thought with also be cool is the ability for these Bluetooth controls to work withe Switch, PS3, etc.
Technically a company like 8bitdo has made controllers that work along these lines.
For me, that would be the major game changer on this unit. You would literally be able to play any game from any older and/or newer machine by just hooking up the HDMI cable and using the controls as Bluetooth controls.

I just got my machine... I have so many issues lol broken wood, parts everywhere in the box, missing screws, screen light bleed, and the front bezel is not attached correctly at the bottom... A lot of my issues are likely due to FedEx completely destroying the package... It was so beat up, holes all over the box. • @degolocsta18DegoLocc
      @degolocsta18DegoLocc 3 ปีที่แล้ว

What I am looking for is a DYI cabinet with joy-stik, buttons, spinner & ball. And I'd like to add all the classic, common 80s games like; Galaga, Asteroids, Space Invaders, Centipede, Defender, Tempest, Donkey Kong, and Pac-Man, and others of course. But I can't seem to find all of these available for one gaming system. I may find some together with 50 other games. And even the 412 games in some tabletop verson on ebay seem to lack some of these basic games in one package. Yet, these games are available but in separate gaming systems. How can I get them all in one system, and in a cabinet that has all the right controllers?
