    I followed you since Y9 and I’m in in Y11- in those 2 years I noticed that you always try to respond to people and are very polite in doing so. This is often overlooked/unappreciated, so I just want to say thank you for taking your free time out to help students :) It really means a lot

      Thank you so much for noticing all the extra effort that goes into the channel, I’ve always felt that it was important to respond in some way or another and acknowledge those that have been proactive in their studies to self teach themselves a complex subject! Glad to know that it doesn’t go unnoticed, thank you!!
      So glad to hear that you have been following the channel for a few years now, I’d love to know how you get on with your mocks and final exams this year, please do let me know and if I can be of any help along the way even if it’s just directing you to any videos or resources 😁🙏🏼

    • @TheGCSEMathsTutor

      Nasar Ali have a look at wether it’s above or below the x-axis. If it’s a singular part of the parabola (below the axis) then it’s inside the range, of it’s two parts of the parabola (above the axis) it’s outside the range 😄

  • @redeyefr
    @redeyefr 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      1 * x = x
      1 * -1 = -1

      If you set the brackets equal to 0 and solve each bracket separately it gives you the answer of negative halve and positive 1 if you look at the bracket (2x+1)(x-1)=0 and then solve that respectively!! Hope it makes sense

    • @myxion2671
      @myxion2671 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      when you are solving each of the brackets, you have to find the value of x
      in the bracket it is 2x so the value needs to be halved to find the value of just x
      so (2x+1) becomes 2x = -1
      then in order to get 1x you must half -1 to get -0.5

    Would it be okay to factorise the denominator into n(n+5) and the numerator into 6 x n and then cancel out the "n"s? From there I got the same answer. And thank you so much!! Very helpful

      I’m not sure I can explain any better in a comment than I tried to in this video, could you explain exactly which part you are unsure about? It’s all related to how many parts of the curve you are looking at, 2 parts will be 2 separate inequalities (smaller than the smaller solution and bigger than the bigger solution) and 1 part of the curve will be an inequality between the 2 solutions! Hope this helps 😁🙏🏼

    Hello sir, your videos have been really helpful though I do have a question, for the first question, why are the solutions minus 2 and minus 3 instead of positive 2 and positive 3? And also, if we have two solutions do we add them both into the answer or only one?

    Hi sir. My teacher has told me to use the quadratic formulae when answering these questions. Can you use the quadratic formulae as when I did a previous question and used your method. It was not right. The question was
    X^2-5x+6

    • @TheGCSEMathsTutor
      @TheGCSEMathsTutor  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can do but it’s not ideal without a calculator when the quadratic factorises, the one you mention is (x-2)(x-3)
