You are literally a god send!!!! I couldn’t find anything on this.. even my teacher couldn’t teach me this or find me any questions and you have just made it so easy for me 🥰 I literally cannot thank you enough for everything you are doing for us students, you deserve an award thank you thank you thank youuuuu
Wow that is great to hear, thank you! These kind of comments make the long evenings and weekends worth it! I’m glad to hear the channel is working for you. Keep up the great work and thank you for the kind words 😁🙏🏼
James Chester this video is good and helpful but you can literally find worksheets on this on maths genie algebraic fractions towards the end of it😂🤦🏻♂️
Johny Boy ooooh!!! What’s the topic called I’ve been searching equivalent ratios for ages and found nothing? I don’t really get on with the explanations there tbh, we have maths watch too but it puts me to sleep 😴
James Chester This topic is solving algebraic fractions really but it is wrapped up within a ratio, equating or equivalent ratios is how the question is presented. Maths Watch is such a fantastic resource, and it’s not cheap either!! Try and make full use out of it 😁🙏🏼
James Chester if you go on maths genie and go on the grade7 section for the algebraic fractions you will find equivalent ratios towards the end of the questions or else you can just print them of from just maths worksheets also or searching them up but yh they have it
People who have had/has you as a maths teacher are so dam lucky. I have been blessed with the worst maths teacher and I have been stressing so much about maths non stop but you make me have some hope for my gcse.
Maddie Davila Thank you so much for the kind words!! I am glad to hear that the channel is working for you and helping to boost your confidence! This is exactly why I made the channel so that’s so great to hear!! 😁🙏🏼
Finally!!! This video took ages but it was sure worth it OMG. i knew you wouldve made this topic look easy but not that easy what the hell. you literally mastered it! can you name the the next few videos you got planned for this week please.
Haha hopefully it was worth the wait! Some topics just take slightly longer to prepare! Glad it’s working well for you 😁 so next on my list are: different graphs (quadratic, cubic and reciprocal graphs) and differentiating between them, box plots, forming and solving equations, a few ‘5 hardest questions’ videos, one on algebraic fractions and one on quadratic inequalities 😁🙏🏼
XxUniquecornxX They came up in a mock paper and also came up in the 2019 exam paper but it’s new to the new GCSE spec so it’s hard to say which type of questions come up often just yet 😁🙏🏼
Just found your channel (a day before my second exam) but I can tell I’m going to be better prepared for the next two. I’ve been binging these videos and they are a godsend. One of them had the same examples my teacher went through in class and I understand them now. Thank you so much :)
Thank you soo so much for not only this video but all your explanations I have my maths mock tomorrow morning and seriously they have helped so much especially when I’m just trying to remember certain topics as well as learning new content.
My final maths test that goes toward my teacher assessed grades thank you again for these videos Colin hegarty hasn’t got anything on you let’s not even talk about my maths teacher
thank you so much for these videos and the organisation process which tidies it all up, this really helps me and my confidence so thank you ! I'm hoping for a grade 7/8
i done the last question in a quicker way: i said that 4:3=7:6 the cross multiplied to get 24=21 24-21=3 then 3x the og ratio, 4:3, which is 12:9 25:42 😀
I am still looking into the various different forms of repeated percentage changes, I covered a lot of them in the compound interest and reverse percentage videos so I am still researching different styles of questions without repeating content I’ve already covered 🙏🏼 It’s on my list though! I was doing some research this weekend but all of the questions I had already covered! Are there any particular question styles you have seen on this topic?
So glad to hear it! These tougher questions will start to appear more as you practice past papers, have you worked through many of the grade 9 videos? 😁🙏🏼
Equating ratios or equivalent ratios, sometimes just categorised as solving algebraic fractions. To be honest these questions are very hard to find 🤦🏻♂️ took me ages to put this together!!
I will try and upload them all when I can find the time! At the moment I’m trying to just get these all recorded for everyone but I’m struggling for time working 7 days a week 😫 where possible if you can write them down for now and I promise I’ll get them all uploaded as soon as I can for you 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Hey I have a question... During factorisation how do we know which number to put first in bracket like in 2xsquare - 3x - 5 =0 we know that one bracket will have 1 and other -5 but how will I tell that I'm gonna put 1 in first bracket or -5 ??
Kierat Sahota Coming very soon! I just need to figure out the best way of recording these as they need to be recorded live rather than on a screen really but it will be worth the wait (hopefully!!) 😁🤞🏼
If anyone would like to support the channel you can buy me a coffee here: www.buymeacoffee.com/gcsemathstutor Thank you for all of your support! 😁🙏🏼

I have an algebra test today so thank you for this 😊
Do these types of questions come often in the exams? Also thank you so much for the video!+

8:23 - how do you decide on which side to move the numbers to?
Good video sir keep up your hard work sir!! Well done, top work keep it up!!
9:08 It should be 0=x^2-4x-4 Shouldn't it?
thank you so much for these videos and the organisation process which tidies it all up, this really helps me and my confidence so thank you ! I'm hoping for a grade 7/8
can we use the quadratic formula for the really annoying questions like 13:12
is it not supposed to be +6x and not -6x at 8:35 because you subtract the smaller like term from the bigger one because -5x is smaller that x
At 19:20 the -5 is right but 2 should be there instead of 1???
Really helpful as usual ☺️
Thank you so much for your videos because of your vids I got a 9 in my mock😄
i done the last question in a quicker way:
i said that 4:3=7:6
the cross multiplied to get 24=21

😀
