@@SeriouslyCreative You're quite welcome! 🤣💖 Liquid latex seems a bit more concerning as the more you are exposed the more likely you are to develop an allergy! 👍
IM SO GLAD THAT I CLICKED IN THIS VIDEO cuz i do resin shakers too and i have this problem that always has marks in them and i never imagine about fixing this with glueee eva glue omg this totally saved me
But if you leave more space to the UV resin and the doming resin to adhere, it should solve it. At least, for me, the only time I had leakage was when I didn't leeave enough space
Bummer about the hearts. I don’t understand the glue/latex, I saw that yours ran over, but does that happen often with doming? I’m just starting but I don’t think I’ve ever made a mess doming
To help with the heart shakers when the transparency sheets lifted and it leaking, try putting another layer of UV resin over the transparency sheet where you applied it on the edges. Then dome the top with epoxy. That should help. Let me know it work because I got that from “Sweet Art Crafts”.
Yeah I've done that before too, the tutorial from amy made is actually really good but i made these shakers before i watched that video hence the mistakes lol
I'm thinking about getting into making resin and your videos are so fun to watch, your creations are beautiful! :) This might be a silly question but what's the reason for using PVA glue on them?
and some prefer dry shakers, it is just a matter of what you prefer. I prefer dry shakers because I like the "chiki chiki" sound it makes when you shake them :)
How you call the little things inside the shakers? I need to buy some but can't find the name. Thanks. Excellent job with the shakers. I'm new making them.
How do you get your black to cure!!? I use a 9watt usb for uv and i use black pigment but I literally can never get the uv to cure with black. These are amazing
How did u use cricut mam to get the exact measurement mam? Do u have tutorial for that? Sorry i'm a newbie and planning to start small business with resin😊
I learned some amazing shaker doming tricks from AmyMade, the main one being that if you coat the whole frame with UV resin then the chances of the plastic pulling off are much greater because there isn't a strong seal between epoxy and uv resin. She suggests leaving a clean border of the shaker frame around the plastic film for the doming epoxy to touch the epoxy on the frame and seal. I haven't perfected it yet either though 😭😭
I love your video, unfortunately I can't find this kind of molds or UV resin where I live and I can't order it by mail ;( If I can make the molds myself, which do you think is the best way to replace the UV resin, using E6000 glue or trying to mix a small batch of 2:1 normal resin and leaving it to dry 12-24 hs before doing the dome?
Hmmm if there is no access to uv resin, the glue is probably your next best option, i think using a 2 part resin for this step wouldn't work because the film might move to much and there is a risk of resin dripping. Good luck 💖
I just subscribed to you yesterday! And your content is amazing! 🤩 also if u still remember my comment yesterday (the dying inside one lol) my mod podge one is really bad 😭🤣
Start over. You can save them ( I have done it) but it so much more work then starting over. 1) You would have to remove to the liquid and stuff inside. (If you want to save the inside you gotta wash with soap and dry cuz sometime the oil bond the stuff together and it won't move well if you just reuse it. Personally I just use new one but depend on cheap you are. And don't even get me start on not being wasteful and environment and stuff etc If you use glitter it bad for environment and you just gotta suck it up that you are not being good to environment. Resin is bad in general for environment so might as well give up resin if you care about the environment) 2) you would have to scrape all the access try resin around the old piece. If you can't, sand it down as much as you can. 3) Try to reapply the new plastic on top and dome again. 4) If it leak, it failed and you can repeat all these step til it finally fix or just give up and make a new one. Most of the time it failed cuz it hard to remove all the extra resin and make it nice and even to dome again. Plus there a lot of science reason I don;t know like UV resin just don;t bond well when apply with new UV resin?? Anyone know the science can explain it. I have done this to save a piece as a newbie and 90% of the time you just keep failing over and over. I did fix one after like 10 attempt so it is possible.
so nice to see that creators on youtube are also doing mistakes so other people can learn from them
