I screwed up. Voltage Surge is not legal and was supposed to be Torch the Tower in Izzet Pirates. Got it mixed up looking back at my old pirate builds. My bad
@@glorybringer8817 Oh I hadn't seen they brought back Ball Lightning. I definitely will have to check that out. Thanks for the suggestion. I'm also curious about Mechanized Warfare. It was explored briefly in the past Mono-Red Burn decks and could be a good fit...
I think theres something to a green focused stompy deck that uses llanowar elves, into enduring vitality, into kona to cheat big creatures out of your hand. Smugglers surprise to do it at instant speed on your opponents turn. Vaultborn Tyrants and Outcaster trailblazers to draw cards and stabilize. Calamity galloping inferno as a finisher.
I could see it. The only new card is Llanowar Elves though so it would really need to capitalize on a good 3 drop and maybe that's Enduring Vitality. The previous Smuggler's Run Gruul deck was struggling to compete against Boros Auras and Azorius Oculus
2 x Shock 4 x Lightning Burst 2 x Lightning Strike 4 x Lightning Helix 4 x Boros Charm 3 x Slagstorm 2 x Day of Judgment 2 x Sunfall 4 x Get Lost 3 x High Noon 3 x Urabrask's Forge 2 x Overlord of the Boilerbilge 25 lands
I played against a Boros Burn that used Scrawling Crawler as a draw engine in the late game, I think Fugitive Codebreaker could be a great addition to this archetype.
If you drop the eight 3 costed sweepers, perhaps. With this much control I think I prefer my engine to not get swept like the red virtue or Case of the Crimson Pulse. If you include creatures, Fugitive Codebreaker is a pretty good one but hard to beat the trinity of the mice in red.
I've been using artist talent and wrens resolve for card advantage in Boros. Blood letter Phoenix has been really good in the games where I've been able to play it out of my graveyard.
Yeah it's probably better to bring in creatures but I wanted to try a creature-less build since Nemesis is still weak to black removal. No creatures = a bunch of dead cards for Mono-Black. But burn's natural counter is definitely lifegain.
@@Arstall the problem with the playest of nemesis is that since we're playing a creature less deck the first one you play is definitely eating that removal they haven't been able to play all game.
@Arstall Anytime. I've been working on a monogreen build myself. I try at the beginning of every new set just to have it fade away. Also, look into Defiler of Vigor.
Do you think there’s any chance of a mono blue deck coming around that’ll be competitive in ranked? I love Tolarian Terror and was very excited to see it coming to standard but I’m not sure how viable it’ll be.
Tolarian Terror was in DMU and was standard legal even before it was included in FDN. So good news for you, it'll be legal for another 5 years. There is a deck, Simic Crabs or sometimes called Simic Beanstalk, which I've seen in mythic ranked bo3 that you might enjoy. Not Mono-Blue, but does showcase Tolarian Terror. www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/6668676#paper
Interesting idea. Then you just hope they don't have a way to deal damage to themselves like a pain land. You do have a fair number of 2 and 3 damage spells so I could see aiming for 10 but it'd take some forethought
I feel like scavenging ooze in green would be so legit(lol) there’s also smugglers which makes your dudes indestructible? Or maybe it was just hexproof 😮
Smuggler's Surprise gives hexproof and indestructible for power 4 or more. Could be a good fit. Scavenging Ooze could be good too if we need more graveyard hate

burn deck throw away googles add 4x RRR 6/1 and 4 forge, much better

@@Arstall only with impact tremors and some token creations+ creatures that ping on trigger like 2/2 for 3 mana or blue red adventure

For the Boros burn deck some number of High Noon, Urabrask's Forge and Overlord of the Boilerbilges
Excellent!
2 x Shock
4 x Lightning Burst
2 x Lightning Strike
4 x Lightning Helix
4 x Boros Charm
3 x Slagstorm
2 x Day of Judgment
2 x Sunfall
4 x Get Lost
3 x High Noon
3 x Urabrask's Forge
2 x Overlord of the Boilerbilge
25 lands
I like it

Oh I definitely should've included Wrens Resolve in the sideboard. Nice suggestion
Think Boros burn needs screaming nemesis to stop any life gain, also virtue to go ham after it's an enchantment

@@AtlasCorporationRAD Yeah it seems more important in Mono-Red to me than a strict burn deck.

Oh I like that! Gives trample and card draw in one card. Good suggestion
