    That's a cool guitar. I looked at them at least once a week on the dean website. Lol Im a builder and modder, and I bought one of the production models when dean dropped the dime line, with plans to mod it. However I got it and set it up to my liking, and I'm not changing a damn thing. It's perfect the way it is. I've never had an issue with the Floyd special and the dimetime and dimebucker both rip. I've also got a 35th anniversary ml in trans Brazilia burst, with a super distortion neck pup and I dropped a bill Lawrence USA in the bridge. That's one of my favorite ml's I own, and I own 5. Lol anyway, awsome video man. That's a great guitar.

      Nice! The production ones are great for sure, and sometimes all you need is a bit of TLC and a setup to make a guitar sing. Love the 35th anniversary models as well! Would love to hear about the other ones you have. Cheers!

      @@EricMorettin yeah the 35th anniversary is a great guitar. It's built to the original specs, and the ebony board is fantastic. I have the black xxx 30th anniversary as well. It has equalizer and nostalgia pickups, and they sound amazing. Kind of like a JB and 59 set up. It doesn't have the v neck. It has a nice c shape. Great playing and sounding guitar.

    Very cool video I love these, I just got a Chinese Dime from hell this month, the neck pick up needs to be flipped around, so this was very useful and informative as well as just fun! Thanks again for putting these videos out there

      Thanks! Dime's neck pickup changed orientation so many times, so you can't go wrong regarding which way its facing.

    Shouldn't the creme side of the pickup be closer to the bridge? Also, what tape do you use and what kind of foam on the headstock? Thanks.

    • @EricMorettin
      @EricMorettin  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@clutch2827 dime flipped his pickups all the time. When the DFH was retired, the Cream bobbin was closer to the bridge. Regular electrical tape for the pickups and any foam that comes with pickups will do!

    Ok, what's a "red wire" Bill Lawrence?
    I'm about to buy an L500XL from Wilde, and this is the first time I've heard this term. I just know of the Wilde pickups and the other Bill Lawrence with the logo on them.

    • @EricMorettin
      @EricMorettin  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe the red wire is the one with "Bill Lawrence" written on the pickup but that can be scratched off easily. A red wire Bill Lawrence is also apparently made on the same machine that the original gray wire Bill Lawrence pickups (the ones dime used, and what came stock in the Washburn D3 models until the dimebucker became stock in those guitars around 2002) were made on as well.
      Gray wire Bill Lawrence pickups fetch a pretty penny and are hard to come by. Whereas the red wire ones are newer, decently accessible, and more affordable.

    • @bryanardis524
      @bryanardis524 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So where do the Wilde pickups fall into this. I've read that those are closest to the originals. But there's a ton of conflicting info.
