- The biggest episode till date in the legends of cricket series is this legend - Sir Isaac Vivian Alexander Richards. He is the most destructive batsman I have ever seen and I will probably see in my life time in international cricket. When I started this series I wanted to talk about the legends whom I thought were extraordinary but with Viv I can’t find a suitable word in the english dictionary to describe his batting on the cricket field.
In this episode I talk about how he was from an opposition’s point of view to the swag he had when he walked to crease from the pavilion. I still remember the silence and the excitement the crowds used to greet him with when he came into bat either in the oppositions turf or The West Indies.
I then go about a lot of memorable moments such as the 1st time I got to saw him live to the time I went to his lovely house in Antigua to meet him and his lovely family.

From 1979 to 1994 west indies never lost test series at any country, this is unbelievable. greatest record. from 1972 to 1994 they never lost test series in home this is also unbelievable
During 80's, we were in deep depression the moment Viv Richards took guard against Indian bowlers.
Once sports star quoted in their coloumn as Master(Viv) &Blaster(cheeka).

Growing up in the West Indies in the 80's, I can tell you that this man was the darling of the entire region. Everyone wanted to bat like Sir Viv Richards. He was my dad's favorite cricketer, and so he became my favorite as well. He was swagger before the term was popularized.
Nobody put fear into opposing bowlers like the Master Blaster!!!

Sir Viv, easily the greatest entertainer Cricket has produced. He was a major reason why so many fell in love with Cricket in 80s and 90s. His very presence was enough to shake the confidence of the opponent teams. Thanks for the episode on the Kiing.

Cheeky cheeka is terrific, love tge trademark style of Sreekanth when he narrates his experiences with child like enthusiasm. This episode on kind Richards is mind boggling, from a greatest batsman to a wonderful person.. I remember seeing Kris and viv in commentary box at chepauk, admiring their presence from D stands during a india West indies test during 2001-2003 period . Come on Sreekanth sir, look forward for more episodes

@@CheekyCheeka nice to know sir, the charm of D STAND has gone down after restrictions over last few years, no drums, instruments allowed, used to carry one and play our traditional " beats of Chennai" for all 5 days of test matches. However, the knowledge chepauk crowd, especially D stand , always there recollecting their historical experiences watching your 80,s team bat, and some of your straight sixes thundering into D stand.. I was a witness at Cheapuk in the 1987-88 series when hirwani debut and got 16 wickets but both the innings when he came to bat the entire chepauk crowd raised from.their seats and gave a resounding ovation to.the king of cricket .

Srika was himself an electrifying batsman and fielder. I was born 78. I watched cricket because of Kapil Dev and Cheeka. Later it was Sachin. But the original greats were Kapil and Cheeka (for slam bam opening). As for Viv, most opponents lost their nerve when he got going. Scary batsman and fielder!
