I'm always impressed when someone famous can jump on a musical instrument you didn't know they played - especially a drum set!! - and play passably. 👍!
Jim is so unique because he can really humble himself, drop the big star ego, and really do the sketches the way they were meant to, then do his own comedy on other bits that are himself: stand up and movies and such.
I can remember watching this when it aired like it was yesterday. I nearly pissed myself laughing when Carrey popped up behind the singing guy. Classic.
@@JustinP ~That's not a laugh track, that's clearly a live audience, that is mic'd🎤 and can be heard because this was live television... Not a bad sit-com from the 70's....
Love the jokes in this, but to this day I never tire of watching that member of the band nailing those high notes over and over again perfectly, especially when he’s laughing at the carrot joke lol
@@jedcauffield1858 Mask was a film starring Eric Stoltz and Cher. If you look up photos of the film, you may notice a slight resemblance, unintentional as it was, to Conan.
3:23 Conan's affected disappointment with La Bamba's inability to be professional and keep it together is hilarious considering that he knows what kind of show this is 😂
These years were so much fun!
Ah... when Jim Carrey was still fun
The laugh tracks made is so cheesy and cringe, LuL.

I always loved how they were predicting what would happen in the year 2000 back in 2003.
And the skit continued until the end of his late night run lol
They starting doing it in the 90s and just kept going even though it was no longer the future but the past.
@@1TightMinute even in the 90s it was ridiculous as the year 2000 was only several years away
@@rs.matr1xthat was the whole premise of the sketch

works even better because you forget about it, then are reminded about it.
I do as well. And La Bamba was cracking up is what got me.
Same! Came here looking for that very joke
I love Jim's smirk 😂
This is still the best one of this series of sketches. The carrot joke, Jim's delivery, La Bamba breaking character, it's just so damned funny.
Agreed on all points
never seen labamba break in these before. but he did manage to carry that tune without seeming like he laughed.
Jim Carrey’s smug assessing-the-damage look afterwards only makes it better.
The Louie Anderson joke is what got me 😂
La Bamba laughing cracks me up

Jim Carrey's shit-eating grin after the carrot one. 😂😂😂
THE BEST.
Jim Carey singing at the end is pure gold
In the year two thou-S AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHnd
Pretty cool falsetto. Now I want to hear a falsetto duet from them!
Jim playing guitar and drums at the end was also flipping hilarious

Half way through 2020, I’d prefer the reality of these predictions.
