    Bought a 2018 Equinox in 2017 when they first came out. Now has 140k miles on it. Been great so far have only changed tires on it. Totally trouble free.

    We’ve had our 2022 Equinox LT AWD for three months now. We love it. It’s comfortable and gets 31mpg.

    I was about to pull the trigger on this exact RS about 3 months ago. Look at it, drove it, Loved it. I concluded it was a good value and quite nice. Was to be for my wife. I ended up buying my Neighbours Toyota Venza with 150 km on it. We like it but would rather have the Chev.

    As the owner of a 2023 Radiant Red RS, upgrade from a 2021 Midnight Edition, I give it 5 stars down the line. If I wanted a luxury car or a sports car, I wouldn’t have bought an Equinox. That said, this economical vehicle compares favorably in interior noise levels, ride and driver comfort with the premium and luxury vehicles I drove as a test driver. In the GM line up, I think the Equinox is a their best value in today’s market.

    I currently drive a 2014 Equinox and I'll buy another one when we need it. Great vehicle for older, no-nonsense operators. Bonus that it is made here in Canada.

    I own a 22 Equinox LT, love it. The 1.5 is great,good torque. The engine is responsive @ delivers decent MPG. Enjoying your reviews great audio @ video clarity

    A 1.5L engine for that sized vehicle means that it's working more than a larger displacement engine. That leads me to worry about long term reliability.

      Gas mileage sucks too because highway mpg of a rental i had was only 25 mpg at 75 mph, it was constantly cruising at over 3000 rpms

      I agree to a point. The turbo does a decent job at compensation for highways. City driving you don’t really want huge power anyways. Or at least I’m my opinion.

      @@ethany7708 sorry to hear that. My tester was rather good. 2.3-.5 here in Alberta Canada

      Same for Honda CRV, it has a 1.5 turbo also w a CVT. Nissan Rogue has a 1.5 3 cyl v/c turbo w a CVT. I would definitely question the Reliability on this one ???.

      And turbo and GDI and Mexico and start and stop. Probably last 60k miles.

    I just picked up a '22 RS off the lot for $3,500 under MSRP with rebates and dealer discount. Love it so far, no CVT!!!, 6 speed real geared transmission. I got all the options minus the leather and sunroof. For $30,000 it's a great deal, for $38K+ not so much, I would be in CR-V and CX-50 territory.

    I would avoid the RS version and instead go with the nicer looking LT or Premier with better smaller nicer riding wheels/tires.

    I like the basic design. I’m not much of a crazy modern fan. Tech can get overwhelming sometimes. Plus on road trips it takes some of the get out of the car factor. (Road side attractions)

    What a shame they went with a small displacement turbo engine. I drive a 2014 equinox, and the the thing's I love about it Awd 3.6l v6 301 hp 272 tq no lag no waiting just gets up and goes very quick for how weighty it is. I'm never down on power.

    Everything is so expensive these days from eggs to Rent. And vehicles interest rates are ridiculous!... Sir this vehicle is not affordable for the working middle class. Your looking at $525-550 a month for this . And that's with really good credit

      I think they got rid of the v6 because they want to give people a reason to buy the more expensive and uglier Blazer.

  • @Sandman1832
    @Sandman1832 ปีที่แล้ว

    Essentially, GM took a big back step by going with a smaller displacement 4 cylinder with a lot less hp and torque. What is even sadder, the naturally aspirated 2.4 in the 2010-2016 models has more horsepower than this turbocharged 1.5, 182hp. The 2.0 turbo has 252hp and the 3.6 301hp. For owners who have owned both the 3.6l and 2.0 turbo models like myself, the 1.5 turbo is a disappointment and a big downsize in performance, hence why I will keep my 2020 with a 2.0 turbo.

  • @mstngken
    @mstngken 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    It's not a matter of if it's when but you will be buying a new turbo probably just after the warranty is up and lets not forget the timing chain it will go too GM does not make reliable ohc engines.

  • @kirkwilson8738
    @kirkwilson8738 ปีที่แล้ว

    The Japanese markIf you want to et and Korean market do not seem to honour warranties very well and they do not have to carry stock OEM parts for very long. North American made vehicles have Laws against that so parts are mostly always in stock and easy to get. Tried a Honda CRV and it was junk compared to the Chevy Equinox

    I had a rental GMC terrain. Even with the 9 speed and 1.5t is was horrible. I’m not sure would would drive this and go yes. Let me make payments in this for 5 years. Gutless and scary with 3 people and luggage trying to merry onto highways.

  • @Drrck11
    @Drrck11 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    My opinion:
    That 1.5 engine should be in the Chevy Trax as well. The turn-off switch for the Auto-Stop is probably what keeps the Equinox from being a deal-breaker for many prospective buyers.

    That black chrome, which would reflect the sun directly into a person's eyes, would drive me nuts. Chevy needs to stop doing this crap - it's stupid as hell. NOTHING good can come of having chrome on the upper part of the dash -- the sun reflecting into your eyes can certainly damage your eye sight.

    • @TestDrivenTV
      @TestDrivenTV  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They are probably relying on over 100 years of chrome use inside an interior without any class action lawsuits for loss of eyesight

    • @ShowMeWhatINeedToKnow
      @ShowMeWhatINeedToKnow ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@TestDrivenTV -- Not true. I've had a lot of GM products without chrome on the dash at all, much less the upper part of the dash. This is a new thing they've been doing in the last 10 years or so -- the chrome and high-gloss bandwagon everyone jumped on. It's a stupid trend, sorry. It makes zero sense. If you're referring to their really old cars, like 60s and older, the chrome was usually in the lower part of the dash -- or at least under some sort of "hooded" part, like the instrument binnacle.
