As these bikes age it’ll be interesting to see how fast the rate of degradation is.
I was wondering the same thing Pat! Also I hope they are able to recycle the batteries. Sage
Really good point Pat. Wonder how much we need to worry about the battery when buying a used e-bike too!? Thanks for listening and commenting as always! Think there's ebikes in the future for Mr. & Mrs. Rusty Chain? - Dan
@@TheRideAbides I know me, if I had an e-bike I’d use it all the time with the assist turned up and my fitness level would diminish…but…I’m 56 and Kim is 61 years old so there’s definitely one in our future.
@rustychain9518 That's the challenge, I suppose! Find the balance. Keep loving the way you feel when you're fit. Go with the flow!
I have the Trek Fuel EXe and I ride it with the motor off 50% of the time, and it feels like a regular acoustic bike. The other times are in eco mode.
Good stuff Zilla. How heavy is the bike? Sage
@@RideLaughPodcast 42 lbs
@@ZillaYT That's awesome!
This is the sort of insight we're looking for from our awesome listeners! Really interesting. Pretty awesome the bike can be ridden with the motor off like that. Thanks for listening & commenting! - Dan
@@TheRideAbides I haven’t ridden it without the battery yet, but from what I understand, it rides even more like an acoustic bike because of the super light motor.
I passed a couple of eBikers the other day.
They are certainly getting to be more prominent Russ. Sage
Wow e bike demo you guys must be running low on content 🤣🤣
Ha! Except that the ebike unlocked jumping for me. You're looking at a whole new Sage ;)
LOL! You know we can talk bikes ALL day long. You're a purist Sean and I totally appreciate that. We'll never stop riding acoustic bikes! But is the 'earn your turns' mindset something we should retire? With bike parks and ebikes being so awesome, it'd be a shame to not take advantage! - Dan
