Hey which one would you suggest for some paid music videos? Would you recommend dual stabilisation from GH5 and lens or steady cam to shoot music videos? Cheers.
GH5 IBIS looks weird to me. If I were doing real client work especially “cinematic” stuff I would go GH5S. It has better color and noise performance and you want to put it on gimbals and shoulder rigs. Not trust the ibis. The ibis just looks fake.
Question here. The GH5 appears to have WiFi, the EOS M50 allows me to download both video and photos from the camera onto my iPhone. Does the GH5 allow both of those to be downloaded to an iPhone? Thank you.
@@smallbizdigitalmedia Dave you handsome dawg, thanks for the follow up! I rented it. Loved it (enough). Was ready to commit. And then thought: "waiddaminute! Do I really need an Audi A8 when a tricked out VW Passat works just fine?" I actually wanted a Canon, but the R wasn't doing it for me. Sooooo, I went for a second-hand 80D and got some nice gear with the money I saved (Sigma 18-35 f1.8, new mic, etc). Love what it can do and know that even in 2019, it's still a solid camera. Check out my last few videos to see. Looking forward to your next vids and here's to what 2019 brings.
If i use a gimbal does that make IBS unnecesary? I'm thinking about either buying a GH5 or a GH5s and leaning towards the GH5s but am a little nervous about it lacking the IBS, even though im getting a gimbal aswell. I hope you can help me out!
I just pulled the trigger (many years later) on a GH5, upgrading from my GH2. Although I shoot a lot (mostly) video with my GH2... I still use it for a stills camera. Therefore, having IBIS & 2x's more resolution on stills... it just makes sense for me. GH5s is hands down a better low-light video camera, no argument there. But... that isn't what I need. and in 2021, that low light performance comes in still at an additional $500, which is the price of another lens for me.
While the unscientific test on IBIS wasn´t that clear, I would go with the GH5 just to get the IBIS. What I have heard (never tested myself) the GH5 5-asxis IBIS is good, and I have a hard time thinking a lens with IS could do the same. One more thing about IBIS, it has gotten UPDATES since 2018 so it is at least a little better than at this test. But still, thx for the comparison.
I have an offer for Panasonic. Please make a start stop video knock on the inscription L next to the optics mount. For videographers, it would be convenient to run it from a tripod or from a hand.
Okay you said you did a autofocus test but you had to touch the screen and order to get it to focus on the background and then focus on the subject. Why do people call that autofocus that's more like push to focus if it's not called that it should be. to me autofocus is where you ain't got a touch nothing you just point the camera at the subject and it automatically focuses in on them.
LOL... everything is relative... 12800 ISO on the GH5: "Totally trash." But it still looks leaps and bounds better than smartphone video even in decent light. I know, I know, video pros have much higher standards, but those standards apparently have very narrow tolerances. Speaking as an amateur video hobbyist.
Lmao at this guy praising 10bit. When its completely trash. Not enough data write speed for it to be worth it. Also let me tell you how annoying all my files shot 10bit on the GH5 are not viewable on Macs. Im not sure if PC has any problems. But, I literally cant watch any of the files or play them back. Super annoying when you are trying to scrub through thumbnails looking for certain shots. The only way is to actually import into premiere pro and place it in a sequence. Then and only then can you view the files unless of course you convert the files which complete defeats the purpose of shooting 10bit. When you shoot in 8bit all those problems go away.
I preferred the GH5 colours to the GH5s
Thanks for the comparison, guys!
Thanks Frank!
I think GH5 looks better, in other videos as well. Light your set and you'll be fine. I rarely shoot in the dark plus the GH5 has stabilization.
Good, honest review. Thanks.
🙏

Kinotika
Thanks buddy
What you prefer or advice GH5S with lumix 12 - 35 f2.8 ii or sigma or canon with MB ultra or viltrox ef2?
Cheers buddy.
@@amitrajkumarbagai4050 I also doubt ... what did you choose and why?
They are BOTH good....depends how you use them and what lenses you have.
I have a G9 for stills and leaning towards gh5s for my video work. Or a Black Magic
what did you end up going with
Great review! I did watch a review last week and the guy said the 5S also took outstanding photos, especially in low light.
2:33 xcpt, now we have the BMPCC 4K

Thanks for the video man. Love to see your new content 👍👍👍
Thank you Steven!!
Boom! After weeks of testing out cameras, reading and watching reviews, I think we have made a choice. Thanks for another great review.
What did you choose?
Kinotika Pretty sure I’ll go for the GH5s. But before I confirm that, I’m renting for a couple of days.
THE MAGIC SAUCE how did the GH5S rental go?

A hidden feature that I MUST have is the date and time stamp. No-one ever mentions this but that is why I am buying this camera.

Get a GH5s. A gimbal will give you full control over the stabilization.
@@DaCashRap Thanks! I just ordered one so I´m happy with the confirmation that it was a good choice haha
@@MeneerToad no problem my brother. congrats on your new camera :)
Alex Nas which gimbal did you get for the GH5S and does it work well?
@@smallbizdigitalmedia I got the DJI ronin S and although i havent been filming alot it seems to work very well!
I got the GH5S but it has a weird magenta cast 😕
I love Jesús
I am getting both
Very helpful! You should do a review of the Viltrox Ef-M2 focal reducer.
Thanks a lot for the tutorial
Very simple and informative review..Thumbs up!!
Thank you!

S is quite far down the alphabet row so it should make quite a difference. 😁
g85 vs canon 80d pls😙
5S is the top of course👍👍

Well at least you said one thing that makes sense
Try LG V30! log 4K 10 Bit recording capability!
My photos from gh5s ;) www.flickr.com/photos/ziemowi_zalewski/
So the "s" of GH5s isn't for "staybilize", oh it's too bad
def leppard shirt!!
I think the GH5S has better autofocus
400 iso less noise than 2500 iso
Y'all know I gotta have that pot stir
SO happy you're happy!
literally tit for tat, not worth the eextra 800 quid
why do you have to gesticulate so much to explain something with words?

I agree. More like a sales video.
Someone plz suggest which one would be the best for filmmaking??

The internal 10 bit actually stands up to grading really well.
Well you probably have a shitty computer ? Maybe send your specs next time
