One time someone brought me so sun bleached cow rib bones they found in a field. I thought it was a great gift and I really appreciated it. My non witchy friends thought it was a weird and creepy thing to give someone. Lol. "found bones" "neat rock" and "cool stick" are always on my wishlist
I think for other witches, like kitchen witches, things like high-quality natural olive oil would be great. Something that the person wouldn't really think to buy themselves, but is super useful.
Candles and incense are the best because one always needs more as fire consumes them. Also, for years I drove around in my car with a "nice rock" that my niece had gotten for me at the beach. I always had the feeling of love and protection coming from it , even though she was just a kiddo when she picked it up. The cheap stuff is always a favorite for me.
Hearth, this is a really thoughtful list of gift ideas, thank you ! ✨ I have a suggestion , for all who live in the UK, Hearth has an online store, called The Witch's Heart, there are so many lovely items to purchase. I personally would love to buy several items, but I live in NYC ( looking forward to a time when you might be able to ship to the US !! ) . Love your Shop Hearth ❤✨✨
I love that you advise free things. I started magic in the nineties with a very bad book. Intention was not that important for the author. It was about having incense, candles of every color, an ancient knife. Things that were hard to find in a small european town. I ended up giving up due to the consumerism. TH-cam witches who craft and seek their ingredients around them, help me make peace and get me interested by this practice again. I would also love if Christmas was not about buying that many things.
I forwarded this to my partner, you do so well in explaining the why's without getting carried away. (My partner was kind of proud to realize he did just the right things in the past)
that's really cute! very cool that they already gave you some wonderful gifts in the past! and even nicer they have such a convenient overview now as well
Hey Hearth. Just so you know, there is a huge, exploitative black market in insects right now, especially butterflies. People are capturing and selling these rare butterflies from protected areas. Many countries do not list butterflies as endangered because it would cause them to limit pesticide use, but they are very much over exploited. I wanted to make you aware of this practice as I learned about it in an entomology course 5 years ago, when monarch butterflies were up to be determined as endangered and the request was denied by the US government. I also learned of this butterfly black marker in a book recently called the Insect Crisis
Thank you for the information. Personally I only buy from sellers who’s practices I know and trust. The butterflies in this piece were ex-museum specimens and were likely around 100 years old. I don’t endorse the harming of any animal for the purpose of taxidermy or display, but the pieces in my collection are from a result of natural causes or very old.
The Wild Unknown pocket sets of tarot & also the animal spirit cards in tins are lovely. Same guidebook as the much larger sets just a very small size. Can usually be found for about £10
Most of my friends who know about me being a Witch give me cool rocks they found, crystals (Some of them go hiking a LOT), one gives me tea every year from my favorite herb shop that moved up closer to them and is too long a drive for me. My Sweetheart gives me old-fashioned shawls and old books (They know what I read often and know books I had and lost or have a hard time finding; we work at the same library so this is pretty cheap and the money helps the library). My mom, every year, gives me things I might need and haven't realized it (One year my mittens ripped and being that I hadn't found out that my hands hurt was because of Raynaud's Disease, she made me mittens with little leaf patterns, another time was some jars and a leak-proof waterbottle). My younger brother sends me Witch memes (Inside joke relating to WHY he does that). My niece makes me plushy mushrooms with her knitting and my nephew likes to put gemstones he hand dug into sealed capsules. I usually take months in advance to get everyone a gift, usually materials to hand-make things (Giving a few of them my own personal blends of tea, and three people are getting a surprise box themed to their favorite reading genre).
A friend once brought me a stone as a souvenir. At first, it looked like an ordinary black stone, but once I started playing around with it, it came apart into three parts that seamlessly fit together. It is one of the most marvellous souvenirs I ever got and a favourite desk ornament. So I agree, found gifts can be awesome - crafted ones too.
normally don't comment here but I'm a visually impaired practitioner -- low vision -- and I find it can help if something is tasctile, meaning you can feel what's on it with your fingers. Although I have to 'cheat' to see mine, things with sy,bols or letters carved or raised on the surface of an item can help low-vision witches or practitioners. For example, I have Runes in hematite I use for divination. My spouse and I also both use tea, both for enjoying, or special blends such as the local shoppe's tea for stress is fantastic for my anxietyl so not only is a tassiomancy cup as mentioned nice, if you know a witch/practitioner's allergies, and they're open to it, perhaps picking up a nice tea if herbalism isn't a skill they possess or have mastered yet that can help them with focus, or small things -- make sure you label the thing, or get a list of teas from local shoppes they enjoy using. As for less 'ideas' and more what I'd personally want, I'd kind of like a nice tea set, maybe some crystals for a grid like a nice large hematite (Hematite being my favorite, main stone to work with), or perhaps something made with birch. A new incense burner might be nivce, or a candle holder -- an especially nice but pricy item I wish I could get is a small fountain. I'm living in a hotel right now, but alter clothes with aesthetics I enjoy would be wonderful, or a sculpture of one of my deities. As for my house, my wife also practices magic! One year I bought them a deck of crow tarot cards, because crows are their main animal; I'd also quite like to get them a cute little spice rack or cooking herbs since they prefer doing kitchen magic/home magic. Honestly, the best advice I can give to anyone is ask if thewre's anything special they're in the market for, and if it fits your budget. Some people want live plants, some might want bones. It's all based on your magic-friend.
Do you happen to remember where you got your tactile runes? I'm a totally blind practitioner, and I've been looking for runes with deep enough carvings for me to identify.
Story for thought: Years ago we had a new neighbour from brazil. Christmas is on the corner and in germany we celebrate the adventtime with a wreath with four candles often in red. And for four weeks each week on sunday one more candle is lit. Now our new neighbour came over for coffee and saw the red candles and was shocked, because where she comes from red candles are used for evil magic. Isn't that crazy
Your idea of giving unique found objects is wonderful. My neighbor has left holey stones on my deck, and a broom made by loving hands at home. I treasure those gifts. I would be thrilled if someone sent me a bottle of water from a holy well such as Glastonbury, or a little bit of soil from the Tor. I also think that anyone would appreciate a nice altar cloth, or if one is into Lenormand cartomancy a Grand Tableau cloth would be a great gift.
I absolutely love my mermaid oracle cards, my crystal pendulum, etc, but I just couldn't do without my Kindle Unlimited subscription. I've been quite successful at finding fairly recent witchy books on eBay, some of them brand new. I'd personally love to receive a witchy robe or even just a hood to wear for spellcasting or rituals.
Lots of lovely ideas, however I've seen a back-flow pentagram incense burner on Amazon...... I hope I get one this year. Hope everyone has a blessed Yule xx
Kind of ties into home decore but, If you know what deities the pagan in your life works with, perhaps buying them something that repersents their deities could be nice.
All I want for yule tide iiiiiiiiis~ (I don't want to use copyright for "all I want for Christmas" by Mahria Crystal, money, books, herbs, candles, incense and sweets.
Thank you for these videos, I’m currently waiting for my partner to be evaluated at the mental hospital and I feel so sad for her. I’m trying to hard to keep it together for her. Focusing on these videos help me get through the day
I’m currently designing a book of shadows with pages set out for spell work a wheel of the year illustration at the front and a “cheat sheet” quick reference for coloured candles, crystals and herbs since it’s something I would have loved when I was younger, my 12 year old daughter is just starting to show an interest in more “witchy” side of things so I’m thinking of picking her up a few bits and pieces so this was very helpful and yes all the jars and bottles please and thanks 😂
I have asked my partner to buy me 3 black ikea billy bookcases for Christmas for all my books crystals tarot notebooks crafts trinkets .. shoes … basically all my stuff 🤣 good storage is key to having lots of witchy things
Dream catches are good. Oh! Maybe enchanted jewellery, key chain or something like that, to have for u and them to be together, thinking of each other, that always are there for them so keep ur head up ect. Cool witchy clothing is nice too, but I rather things that last forever, like the jewellery or something. Idk tho, but love the ideas, and yes.. jars and containers X3 parents always complaining had so much!.. so got enough and thrower them out.. sad.. oh well..
I’d also highly recommend, for indecisive friends who change their mind on what they want every five minutes (like me), learn the name of their favorite witchy shop and get them a gift certificate! For example, here I. Akron, Ohio, US I LOVE “The Dragon’s Mantle”. It’s owned by a knowledgeable, kind couple and well stocked with every herb, crystal, incense, etc your friend could want! When in doubt, Google and read ratings to fine a good place to get a gift certificate from!
This was a really awesome and well thought out list, with specific suggestions.. I loved the reasoning behind every thing as well as how to make each gift even more personal. I would love to get any of these things, thank you for the video.
Thank you, HearthWitch. I packaged, in "witchy" bottles, herbs that I bought in bulk or grew and dried. I attached labels that included the name and magickal properties of the herbs. I plan to give these to my Witch and Not-Yet Witch friends and family for Yule. Best.
I didn't know that about witches loving jars - explains why I've always loved boxes, collected jars, and have a mania for making bags despite rarely carrying one. I'm now garnering boxes I've decorated with all kinds of crap, and all of them are empty. Is there a cure?
A Cat Tarot Deck? Do you have a link where I can find this? Umm... for a friend. I do know also that they make all kinds of Tarot Decks. I watched a video of a guy reviewing a Garbage Pail Kids tarot deck and I believe that they were actually illustrated by one of the actual illustrators of the GPK cards.
Hey Hearth! I never have a chance to comment on your live streams. But, could you please make a music playlist of music that you love, not pagan music because you already have it. Music that you really like, Middle of the Night.
Blessed be Lady Hearth. Love and light to you, your grace. I've a question if I may. Is it a misuse of the elements if I were to cast a powerful spell of financial increase upon my mother? Many are the rumors of karmatic abuse due to financial gain. I don't wish repercussions from this spell, but (sigh) my mother really deserves this and I think has earned such bliss. Please, if there's anything I can do, I would. To ease her burden of wrongfully placed debt. But I would rather not envoke the wrath of the elementals for attempting to pull Mom from hard times this year. Lady Hearth, I welcome always your blessed and well taken advice on this. Merry meet, High Priestess. 🧙♀️🌹 Much bliss to you.
I tend to wear hagstones on red ribbons when wearing them. The colour red adds to the protection element of the stone for me. When hanging a collection of them for home protection I string them onto rope as they get heavy especially if linking 13 together
My mom is a witch so searching for gifts are hardd. I wanna get her something other than crystals all the time but sacred bones from a sun goddess are hard to find
Another reason for a Witch to avoid a certain incense is an allergy to the scent Example : if a relative wanted to buy incense for me ... and came to me for advice on the scent to avoid... Nag Chambra... I'd cough and smeeze after smelling that scent
Time. I'd love for everyone who wants to give me a gift to gift me time. Either by offering so many hours of babysitting, doing some housework, whatever they see fit to gift me some time to actually practice and meditate.
Hearth! You are wonderful! You have been SUCH an inspiration to me. I’m new in my practice, and later in my life at nearly 40, you’ve given me such a wonderful foundation to learn and keep moving forward in my practice. So thank you! You’ve got a viewer for life🫶🏼
One time someone brought me so sun bleached cow rib bones they found in a field.
Would kitchen utensils be a appropriate gift for a kitchen witch ?

I always had the feeling of love and protection coming from it , even though she was just a kiddo when she picked it up. The cheap stuff is always a favorite for me.
Agreed! Candle magic is my fave
If you don’t just want to hand over an empty char, fill it with selfmade cookies and done is the perfect witchy gift. 🥰
that is true! cookie jars is such a good idea!
I sent this to my husband...he said...you aren't a witch...I said, yeah, I know, but we like a lot of the same stuff :). Great video!
House plants and herbs/spices are a good bet too!

Wright?!?!? And if they are all uniquely shaped ones even better.

Thank you 💜
Love this! sending it to my friends next time they ask what to get me for a holiday :)
Thank you 😊
I asked for Cat Tarot this year for Christmas! I didn’t get it last year, hoping this is the year 🤞🏻
Your very interesting to listen to. Im a Crone and still like to listen and learn...❤

I’m not sure if anyone else has mentioned this but I thought a years subscription to one of the monthly witch boxes would be amazing.
This is SUCH a useful video! I'll be bookmarking this for years to come.
A cool option for someone to get is an oil diffuser if you want to get the witch in your life who may not/ cannot use incense something useful
a subscription box might be a good idea. just like one box so they can see what it's like

I would like to add protection charms, that are more potent when gifted. Religious medals, evil eye ward. 🧿
Appreciate your content!
