  • Tucked away up an unsuspecting side street in Stoke, The Villas stand as a testament to Victorian ingenuity and aesthetics. From the story of the lamp post that sparked a unique protest to the chilling tale of the vampire of The Villas, this video delves into the intriguing world of this unique Victorian development.

Lived there for a while 35 years ago. Lights from the Victoria Ground would shine into my bedroom.

The house with the blue front door at 2.39- am sure we had an emergency call to a burst pipe there a few years back- had never been up that street before - they are beautiful inside

I've not been in the Villas since the mid-80's :D I don't recall how but I got invited to a big party there and spent the entire night earnestly and drunkenly discussing many deep and important things ... or so twenty year old self-important me thought :grins: I am trying to recall which house it was - definitely on the left as you go into the street ... maybe the second house along?

I'm guessing by the state of the roadway and the pavements that the council has never adopted them, but that they are to this day the common property of the house owners, who don't cooperate well enough to fund the upkeep of the common parts.

And the council shouldn't "adopt" them either. Our money should be spent on our matters.

Pavements look dangerous damage done by cars parking on them.
