I commented as much on the 25th anniversary of the song for Africa We Are the World on here. He or someone said thank you. He’s a small town boy who made great! Thank you for mentioning the song writing… it is often overlooked. The most talented singer/instrumentalist is almost nothing without a great song. Musicians come and go ( I know… I’ve probably only got 10 years left myself or-a few more…) but great songs remain. We’ve had some for decades and some for centuries.

Absolutely loved this. This song takes me back to my high school years. The late 70's can't be beat. I notice when two artists get together to sing a song together, they exponentially improve it. The same is true for the song Man on the Moon when Bruce Springsteen joined REM or when Earth Wind and Fire sings with Chicago. This was so amazing to have Lionel Richie and Tim McGraw singing together.
Tim is so cool. And Lionel, well he's simply the best talent I can think of, and one of the most underrated pop artists from the 80s. His stuff from the 80s was some of the most successful stuff ever, up there along with legends like Prince, MJ, Madonna, Phil Collins, etc.

My husband and I were at this concert in Las Vegas. We went to the Academy of Country Music Award show there the night before so all of the country artists were there already. Lionels show was a tribute to him with all his country friends. Many of them have recorded songs that he has written over the years. He is an excellent song writer and singer. It was an awesome and entertaining show. We had a blast that weekend!
My dream is to see Lionel show in Vegas. I eloped with my now husband to Las Vegas in 2016. His show wasn’t playing that weekend and you kinda have to plan ahead for those shows. And that’s hard When you Catch a plane and elope on a minute notice. It was the best time I’ve ever had with the man of my dreams.
Lionel Ritchie is a great human being. He is very giving and thoughtful. He was very close to many people including Kenny Rogers. Lionel still keeps tabs on Kenny's family after his death. I remember in 83 through 86 no one was hotter on the music charts than Ritchie.

I've adored Lionel since he was with the Commodores, all those years ago. I recall watching him on a tv "special" years ago and Lionel was talking about writing the song "Three Times a Lady." There was a lovely grand piano in the room, and he said the song was about his Grandmother, who had been a piano teacher. I admired him even more then. Class act.

I really enjoyed this entire concert because it helped to prove that music is the universal language. If you are able to get past the whole cultural, racial, and even national in some cases stigma attributed to the art form, you can see that well written music is a language which can speak to anyone in any walk of life.

My husband and I were at this concert in Las Vegas. We went to the Academy of Country Music Award show there the night before so all of the country artists were there already. Lionels show was a tribute to him with all his country friends. Many of them have recorded songs that he has written over the years. He is an excellent song writer and singer. It was an awesome and entertaining show. We had a blast that weekend!
My dream is to see Lionel show in Vegas. I eloped with my now husband to Las Vegas in 2016. His show wasn’t playing that weekend and you kinda have to plan ahead for those shows. And that’s hard
When you Catch a plane and elope on a minute notice. It was the best time I’ve ever had with the man of my dreams.

Lionel Ritchie is a great human being. He is very giving and thoughtful. He was very close to many people including Kenny Rogers. Lionel still keeps tabs on Kenny's family after his death. I remember in 83 through 86 no one was hotter on the music charts than Ritchie.
My dads favorite song, he would sing it all the time. When he passed, the insignia on his tombstone reads: "Sail On, From Your Family and Friends."

Lionel Richie is one of the greatest ballad song writers ever and when you have a great singer like Tim McGraw, that makes this onstage performance unforgettable. I wish to have both of their musical and vocal skills.
Lionel is timeless and I love that he has always stuck to bringing people together with good music. Most artists out now are ratchet and take away from the whole reason you are in this business. Music needs to go back to this right now.

I've adored Lionel since he was with the Commodores, all those years ago.
I recall watching him on a tv "special" years ago and Lionel was talking about writing the song "Three Times a Lady." There was a lovely grand piano in the room, and he said the song was about his Grandmother, who had been a piano teacher. I admired him even more then. Class act.
They were absolutely jamming together!!! That’s some good singing and a marvelous performance. Tim got some soul. Lionel is my song hero and eternally my “main man”, his genius is layered on so many levels!😊

I really enjoyed this entire concert because it helped to prove that music is the universal language. If you are able to get past the whole cultural, racial, and even national in some cases stigma attributed to the art form, you can see that well written music is a language which can speak to anyone in any walk of life.
