A video demonstrating setting up/using smoothtrack, and also what settings to use for different speeds of smoothtrack would be nice. thats the only thing I'm having trouble with. other that that mines working like a dream. Thanks!!
Much harder to balance once you connect the monitor cable and a remote follow focus. Even when the Ronin is balanced, it always tips down after starting up which we have to correct with the remote. Would upgrade to the Ronin 2 if they had quadrupled the price.
This was asked below but has anyone has trouble balancing with the monitor cable attached? There is tension on the cable and it changes as the camera moves on the ronin.
exactly what i was gonna say, all video show a monitorless red smh, that extra force has to be doing something, where his battery power coming from, ANOTHER cable, thumbs down
brother I have seen your video and I can say that with full surety that you will get a lot of trouble to balance it with c motion, matte box, and with with whole cabling that involves in real time shooting. so can you please show us the better way to balance the camera with all those staff
Hey there, Great tutorial. But you pulled that Silver Lever on the base plate the wrong way. If you look at it, the lever is meant to be pulled clockwise if looking down on it from camera.
How do you use the DJI Ronin with the DJI Lightbridge, Can't find how to hook the two together anywhere. I can find them being hooked up to other drones all day long but not with the Ronin. Thanks so much for any help.
Hi there, I balanced my Red Epic on the Ronin perfectly after watching your video, but it kept going wrong when I connected to my iPhone and pressed auto-balance. I think it might be due to the monitor cable. Do you have any advice on what kind of cable to use?
Moera Creative The balance is just for the motors not work as hard to keep initial position.. If you try to move the gimbal with power on it will fight you to keep the initial position. You either have to use the remote or turn power off.
Avetis Berberyan That isn't what I meant. I did not mean during the balancing process. I mean once you balanced the camera, why did you not turn the battery on to test afterwards?
hi, i just balanced my ronin like u did and it's balanced really well but it's not that smooth still have vibrations when filming, what would be the problem ? ps : I still didnt use the dji ronin assistant app.
Is this video with Red and ronin m , or ronin Mx, just asking because I thought if we put a red or 1dx mkii in Ronin M we have to buy additional weights, can anybody answer
Anybody Know where I can get the older firmware to downgrade?? Hopefully a Macintosh version. I have seen on the DJI forums everyone is having the same problem with drifting on the latest firmware??? Can someone Please help out? Where can I get the original working firmware with out drifting????? Thanks in advance!!
Nasir Rahim You probably have the calibration very stiff on one of the axis thats why it shakes and making a lot of noise because the motors and computer are working harder.
Good tutorial. I thought I balanced my canon t6i on it, but when I pick the ronin up, the camra swings and jiggles and is very obvious on the recorded footage. How do I fix this?
well are one thing he forgot to tell us please recalibrate de gimbal with the dji gimbal assistant , just before the use (dont use de android or ios app bcause is so bugged)
At least you can get your phone app or computer app to work and connect. I work with a television studio and we have purchased 2 different ronin m with same problem. The remote doesn't even connect. the green light comes on the ronin saying remote is connected but nothing happens. red light on ronin just flashes while trying to connect to computer via ethernet cable or with the DJI assistant app on an i phone 7 and or galaxy 6 and 8! whats the deal people?!?!? we paid $1000 for these things and seem to have a connectivity problem. had to sent first one back and wait a few weeks till the new one arrived, and now the same problem with this one! need help!
Did you download the driver installer, and the software? You can find it at dji.com. I have the Ronin-M and couldn't get the app to work either. So, I got it connected to the computer (via the driver installer download) and then downloaded and ran the software. Still acted funny until I hit the auto calibrate button on the computer.
Thus was so much easier than reading the manual! Cheers guys.

What extensions for the Ronin did you need to be able to operate this camera?
Can we use with Dji ronin camcorder ???
Question. Why is it that you balanced the camera, but didn't power on the battery?
Moera Creative The balance is just for the motors not work as hard to keep initial position.. If you try to move the gimbal with power on it will fight you to keep the initial position. You either have to use the remote or turn power off.
Avetis Berberyan That isn't what I meant. I did not mean during the balancing process. I mean once you balanced the camera, why did you not turn the battery on to test afterwards?
Because the video is about how to balance it, not operate or test it.

I have perfectly balanced my camera but for some reason when i switch it on, the roll goes of balance. Also makes a bit of a funny sound, any ideas?
Polished ⚓ You might need to calibrate the TRIM on the roll axis in the app to make it level.
Does the battery automatically discharge after a certain pediod of inactivity?
yes
Can you please help I turned on my ronin and it turns towards the back not facing the front. and It makes a weird noise and shakes.
Nasir Rahim You probably have the calibration very stiff on one of the axis thats why it shakes and making a lot of noise because the motors and computer are working harder.
I have exactly the same problem!! Where you able to figure it out?
Fresh!!!
Thanks for the tip sir! :)
