Amazing work. I've stopped at the memorial several times over the years as I travel that route for work alot. I'm glad to see a posiitive piece of history being made about this tragedy. Love your channel.
@@OutdoorsmanDave I recall way back when my Dad took me to Mount Richmond behind Nelson to visit an old plane crash. Also interesting the plane that went missing in Fiordland they never found
Amazing, lived in Matamata my whole life and know of this. What I didn’t know was how much of it still remained to this day.. thanks for passing on your knowledge. Are they in the process of removing the wreckage or?
Excellent work. Recovering some of the wreckage for a memorial gives the tragedy a sense of closure.
Thanks, it gives people an accessible place to reflect
Thanks heaps for showing the slip on Kauritatahi
Doable but dodgy

Thanks Pete, it’s been a long mission this one but a great outcome
Very nice work, Dave. It must have been really satisfying to be a part of this recovery and add to the commemoration.

Seriously good effort! We were just in Te Aroha for a family event and I insisted we detour down to Gordon so I could pay my respects.
Thanks please share, it’s history that is being forgotten in time

No, we were just retrieving one engine for the museum.
Not that I've heard. I was meaning a positive outcome for a tragic/negative event.
