Was there ever a more graceful player than Hana? Her tennis was seemingly effortless. She didn't even grunt although I'm sure many guys back in the day wouldn't have minded just a few...
Hana played the net in her own unique way. As was so typical of her game she took a lot of risks and often attacked in unconventional ways such as approaching off of a topspin backhand cross court or off of a lob or drop shot. People went crazy when Federer started approaching off a half volley return of serve, but Hana did that long before he ever did. It used to unnerve Martina when Ha a would use these tactics on her. When it worked it was sheer genius.
McEnroe was approaching the net on anything and everything years before Federer was even a thing. It was sometimes the reason McEnroe did badly in matches. Because he got stuck in a gung-ho charge the net at all costs mindset. Ivan Lendl could often wind McEnroe up in their matches due to this.
I didn't feel kind of boring when watching at these women. The speed of game was just lower. I remember my Tretorn wooden racket, the control of the ball was tough. However my skill was at the amateur level.
@@HyperHorse You prefer today's game where everyone is a baseliner, everyone uses a two handed backhand, and everyone uses the same tactics. Today's racquet's require little skill to find the center sweet spot and the game in general requires much less skill with the racquet than the wood racquet era.
@@michaelbroer6378 , I have some regret of the "service-volley" game! Nowadays, there's so much control in rackets, so the passing-shots are pretty easy. You are right ! "Crocodile" style is kind of boring...

She was in a very tough era with some of the GOAT.
Like most of so much young men, the time when I was a lover of Hana ! 🙂🥰
I think the problem with Hana she was inconsistent, if her game was on she could beat anybody.😊
The Woman that helped me to become a man ... Thank You Hanna ...
What am I watching, country club tennis?!
Another era of tennis! 🙂
@@brunolevasseur Yes. This is boring tennis. Or as you could call it, BA (Before Agassi) tennis.
