If you are a foodie who loves experiencing ethnic fusion foods from around the planet then I strongly urge you to explore Vancouver. If you want Persian food it is here. If you want German food it is here. But if you want Persian and German fusion foods with a Korean influence then this is the place to visit. I am a Canuck Vancouverite born and raised and have the webs between my toes to prove it. While this channel explored the main street restaurants I recommend walking the back and side streets to find the Family Shops who deliver fantastic fusion cuisine at maybe 50% less and who will blow your mind!
Except for the asian food. That stuff sucks. I have tried it all and I will rate Shanghai as the worst food I have ever tasted. Who dafk boils perfectly good food? Then tries to hide that centuries old mistake by drowning it in sauce??? ugh. Some sushi is ok so is Mongolian and Pho. The rest is just hot garbage. Thanks for going to Granville Island. I used to live within walking distance. I'm talking about 4 minutes without crossing a street. That place is like heaven with minimal asian cr@p. Good review
Luv Vancity. If ya get the chance again for a foodie, give Richmond a try for the best variety of chinese food dimsum, bbq, etc in North America. …some of the best coffee cafes and bakeries. Glad you got to hit some of my fav places in the city
haha. good to be reminded of Vancouver food (Vancouver loca). I was just at Las Vegas last month and I was looking at Gordon Ramsey's Hell's kitchen and didn't know there were unlimited lobster at hotel buffets. Will eat there next time.
3 staples of Vancouver are Duffins Donuts, Danbo Ramen & Siegel's bagels ❤ I've never tried Kojiro Ramen before, but I'll have to give it a shot! Hope you had a nice stay in Vancouver! :)
After a terrible trip to Vancouver Island (Watch Here: th-cam.com/video/x_w-g0eyf9c/w-d-xo.html), I had only 24 hours to eat my way around Vancouver - what did I miss?
"Not really sure what's going on in my mouth, but I'm having a great time." "I haven't said that since college." The quote of the decade. Haha My choice is Score on Davie.
As someone who's lived my whole 26 years of life in vancouver, I'm very glad you experienced Gojiro ramen. Been going there over 10 years. Best ramen you will find in vancouver. If I was on death row I would probably choose that as my last meal. 🙏
@@PuffOfSmoke of course indigenous people have some traditional food but unfortunately they are a minority here and in most of the metropolitan parts of canada there is nothing like indigenous cuisine or anything related to them when it comes to food. Maybe if you would go up north in a province like nunavut you would get in contact with some cuisine like that but in general when it comes to any canadian food that is kinda traditional is just some kind of a fusious of food brought up here by immigrants
Great host great food. I watched two your shows. Enjoyed them however will never able to visit these fabulous restaurants because the restaurant Names never appear anywhere, how sad. Picture there logo, outside sign something more the a 1-2 second word. How many viewers do you think you’re pissing off . I sure am! I’d like to visit these places. Wow! How silly is that. Watched one twice and nothing
Great vid, but maybe the title should be "INSANE 24-Hour Asian Food Tour in Vancouver, Canada". Never been to Canada, so would have liked to see some Canadian food and see what that is about
There is still so much Asian food that I didn't cover here in Vancouver - it is a major pillar of their cuisine. Not really sure what other "Canadian Food" to cover outside of poutine 😂
@@GarethEats Anthony Bourdain discovered a lot of Canadian food other than poutine...Very well then...Looking forward to future episodes "Best burrito in Paris" 😆
As a Canadian that's lived in British Columbia my whole life, when I hear "Canadian food" I think maple syrup and poutine and salmon in BC. Most of the food in this country is from other countries, mostly Asia.
I hate these kind of videos as a local b/c you just went to the most hipster upscaled pricey places this city has to offer. You start your video off with Granville Island, to any locals that know, its a tourist trap w/ shit food and crazy prices. No actual vancouverite goes to Granville island to shop or eat unless they work there. The few that do are just.....out of touch with reality (I'm looking at your Mr. "1,000,000 dollars a month"). The ONLY reason granville island still exists is b/c of tourists and rich people who don't want to associate w/ the "poor". You literally missed out on the best food in town b/c your channel seems to avoid actual food places and goes to more "better visibility" places if you catch my drift, and these places offer pretty generic food just w/ their own twist on it and are extremely over priced. P.s. if anyone reading this wants to try the best donair in town for example, go to Fast Donair and Falafel in Clayton Heights (Surrey), ask for Paul then get him to make you a lebanese donair with protein of your choice, enjoy.
Your friends suck at Vancouver and brought you to really touristy spots… gojira ramen is solid though… other wise these places are definitely not the spots… though I haven’t been to Tom sushi so can’t comment on that one.

Elaborate on a few places for sushi, jerk chicken, taco's, pontine, ramen. What you got for me??
Love the energy and attitude towards the city of Vancouver when it comes to food, definitely undisputed!
Granville market is my favorite place to go to when I go to Vancouver. Food paradise.
Ugh, food in Vancouver is so good! I love it ❤

Japadog is my go-to when I go to Vancouver for a concert or sports event
Gareth your content especially on food is REALLY good - keep it going, definitely deserve more views

Also if u come out to the burbs ,Surrey(not really the burbs anymore,it’s actually turning into a small city)we have great Indian restaurants here
"I'm not really sure what's going on in my mouth, but I'm having a great time." Hahaha I laughed so hard, I had to pause the video!
Hahaha, I was very confused 😂
I live in Vancouver! Food is good!
love the way you express your food.
Sandied Llama cinnamon . Love it buddy!
Haha, I don't even know what that means!
Welcome to Van!
My Irish/Scottish friends used to live right above Tom Sushi Hahaha
Another awesome video Gareth!! 👏🏼 Deliciously funny!
Great episode, man. Wish I'd have known you were in town, I live right across the water from Granville Island, we could have had a beer! Next time :)
Everything looks delicious!
So good!
I always enjoy seeing you. I miss you when I don't see a vlog from you, but you always come through with a quality vlog in the nick of time.❤❤
Eating at Japadog but didn't have the fries?? Man, the dogs are ok but the butter shoyou fries are the best fries ever!
I love this ❤ you should try a 10k dessert challenge with all your favourite sweets 😊
I’ve never even heard of a 10k dessert challenge - what is it!?
@@GarethEats Do u know the 10k food Challenge? The same but only desserts and sweets

Craft Beer Market and the 20 Napkin Burger, or anything at Kin Sushi in North Vancouver.

Fun fact Duffins original location was where Rexall now is at 33rd and Main, used to go there. Closed in the early 2010s
Jinya ramen is very good too…located on Robison near Seymour (downtown). Tojo and Mura sushi is also delicious.
Amazing ❤ 0:25

Canadian food??

welcome to vancouver!!😁
Thanks for sharing
Wow 💖💖💖
I'd like to try that Japadog place!
never seen this channel before but you sound like a local too
very good
That is one big bowl of ramen !
Haha, right!? It was massive!! And so good! 🙌
I got Lees donuts.
That guy and gal with you at japanese restaurant are so high 😅😅😅
While it's nice to see Asian restaurants in Canada, I was hoping to see what a traditional Canadian food looks like. Still a good episode.
Yes, I want to go back and make a full episode all about the Asian influence here, especially in Richmond! 🙌
There is no such thing like traditional canadian food. Except for poutine which is fries with cheese and gravy

Banyak juga ya makanan Jepangnya. Masih enakan makanan Indonesia deh. Pas di lidahku. Aku bukan muslim tapi aku gak makan pork or bacon.
Don't know why but I hate sweets
You're on the right track!

A Vancouverite here. Our food scene is boring. Most of the places you went to are tourist places. Video was entertaining though.
I would say asian food is good in Vancouver, but not much variety on international cuisine. always the same.
