I'm genuinely surprised she hasn't shown up since Emerald. There's no reason she couldn't have been in the X and Y Arc with Green as a tie-in to Pokémon Amie.
Tbh I feel like DPPt was the last time the manga truly had a complete story from beginning to end. It’s clear to see with the 8 year hiatus and kinda rush job ending that they didn’t rly know how to connect BW and BW2, and every arc after that just felt rushed. Like I remember in DPPt there’d be like 10-15 chapters in between each gym battle, and the battles were always well thought out with cool strategies (my favorite was platinum vs crasher wake when she used Dia’s torterra). But I was reading SWSH recently and they jump between each gym every 3-5 chapters it feels like. Not only that, but they barely even show the battles! Like for the first gym, they had Sou, Schilly, Hop, Marnie and Bede all fighting it, and 4/5 of those battles were offscreen, and the last one was just the very end of the fight! I understand skipping it for the rivals, but skipping a gym battle for one (pretty much both) of the main dexholders?! Why?? Idk, the stories now just feel very rushed and short. I think what makes this most apparent is that DPPt is 11 (might be 12?) volumes long, and all the previous arcs are around the same length, but XY for example is only 6 volumes long. They’re getting shorter and more rushed and it’s sad to see as a longtime fan
Also I should mention that the lamest thing ever has to be the fact that they never even bothered writing an arc for BDSP or Legends Arceus. I kinda understand BDSP since there wasn’t too much new stuff, but seeing Dia, Pearl and Platinum get isekai’d to the past, even if it was only 2-3 volumes, would’ve been extremely fun. It’s a shame how those three have never returned to the story aside from extremely minor cameos
One thing I liked About Diamond and Pearl is that they're personalities are the opposite descriptor to their names, Diamond having a personality that best describes a pearl, while Pearl has a personality that best describes a diamond.
It's a real shame that when FR/LG came out Leaf wasn't an NPC to battle with, and it's such a big bummer she never appeared in HG/SS or B/W 2 or in S/M where we could have seen her as an adult with Blue and Red

@EasternStory tbh I was more focused on gen 5 and onwards. Plus you gotta admit, most of the fire and grass starters got treated much better than half the water starters; the only exceptions are Sceptile getting tossed around for a year before being taken by the trainer it was originally meant to go to, and Delphox being brought up as a villain until it was given to a dex holder from the previous gen.
To be fair, Y gets shafted for most of the plot. Considering she’s supposed to be the second dex holder she gets treated more like a supporting character for most of the Kalos arc. And while I’m on the subject, X barely uses Chesnaught either. The focus is on all his mega evolving pokemon at the expense of the starter. All the Kalos starters get shafted really, now that I think about it.

Imagine 3 double page spreads of the following: Grass Holders in Kitakami (TM), Water Holders in Blueberry (ID) and Fire Holders in Lumiose/South Kalos (ZA). Final page in English translation would be akin to "I hope you, all of you trainers, enjoy your Pokemon ADVENTURES" But in Japanese it's Yellow saying "Explore, travel, seek your treasure... and discover what makes Pokemon SPECIAL"

This I think is another effect of TPC always rushing out everything in their franchise. If they actually let their games be for just a few years without any new main ones coming out or early reveal announcements, many of these sides of the franchise like the manga and anime would be able to be developed better.
The big challenge is that as the games themselves have got bigger the game plots have become more and more prominent and well established, where the older games had little to no plot. The older games left a lot of it open to interpretation which allowed for much more freedom for any writers who are adapting the games, but as the plots become more involved there becomes much less space for creative interpretations. They might have gotten away with it if Wally wasn’t already a thing, but it was doomed when they didn’t follow through with the promise of making Wally the Emerald stand in.
Honestly I'd be ok with either a rival promotion or an og character. Although this vid did make me remember something. Me being honestly a little frustrated the starter type who wasn't with a Dex Holder isn't even a rotating thing Aside from Fennekin, its always the water starter! It doesn't exactly help my favorite starter type is Water. I'm hoping Quax doesn't meet the fate of irrelevancy
Scarlet goes to Uva Academy, right? What if they did an arc about The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero dlc, where an original Uva Academy student had went of a school trip to Kitakami and an exchange program to Blueberry Academy. Name them Chartreuse or something.
So in other words the manga is just an advertisement for the games like the TV show... it's too bad because the story of adventures is in my opinion some of the best in the whole series with brilliant character work especially for the original characters like yellow. Just wish we could keep seeing characters grow up like imagine how cool it would have been if let's go arcs we're based on the children of the original character since they were getting close to the age of having kids
I don't even know what they were thinking with giving one of the starters to some random trainer when hop really works with any starter in galar. While this might sound dumb why not have a character to make fun of the pokemon gun joke they would go with sonia to descover the darkest day plot being a psychic with the abilty to use say psychic power to make small energy blast from their finger tips just like the final starter evolution though it might not be a good idea after all they definitely rushed to get these chapters out why else do you think we haven't gotten remake arcs in a while? So at the end of the day they did the best they could even if hop made the most sense
I've not long just finished the FireRed and LeafGreen and Emerald arcs. It sounds like the Manga takes a bit of a dip in quality after that. Is it worth still reading the rest. It's been so good this far i'd rather not keep investing in it if it's gunna take a nosedive, i'd rather leave it on a high point.
You have to read it yourself before you can comment. In my opinion this series doesn't have become rotten, just doesn't get the attention its used to (as people gradually change their entertainment habits), and being limited by the development cycle of the game makes people have to wait longer to get the complete ending.
This whole thing with starters and third characters is exactly why I decided to make Trace a Dex Holder and main character in my fanmade Let's Go arc. The game grants a perfect opportunity for the story to focus on a trio again, and I didn't want to let that opportunity go to waste. Not to mention, Trace is in DESPERATE need of fleshed out writing that the manga used to do so well in the first couple of generations, so I genuinely believe this is what he needs. I don't want to spoil too much of the story because I'm still pretty early on in the writing process, but I will say we also finally get a trio with starters right from the jump again. Since it's a revisit to Kanto again though, I made sure that the three starters are assigned in a different position than they were with Red, Green, and Blue. So no Grass-starter for the boy, no water-starter for the girl, and no fire-starter for the rival.
@@elithesia781 aren't you going to use the starter Pikachu and Eevee? Those were the mascots of the games, just like the fully evolved Kanto starters were for the original Kanto games.
I agree that if there is LGPE chapter Trace should be the one of protagonists aka Pokedex holders regardless of whether he is named in the version name (the version names should be given to the male and female protagonists). But I am completely opposed to what some fans think is the idea of Yellow being the female protagonist. It just doesn't fit with the way Pokespe works. Elaine is a separate character with no room for ambiguity (not like Crys). She should not be replaced by an original character from Pokespe. In my opinion Yellow (and Red, Green, Blue) is more suitable for a main mentor role. I think the best starters for this chapter are Pikacu, Eevee and Meowth. But they let Scarlet has a Pikachu, I'm not sure they would want another Pikachu starter if there was LGPE.
@@stevenpip7339 I am indeed going to use Pikachu and Eevee, and they are the main companions of the male and female game character protagonists, who I've respectively named Pike and Eve in this context. But I'm also using the Kanto starters to fill another slot on their team because of their connection to being a Dex Holder within the manga's narrative. However, they will be written differently than the original trio's starters for variety, with Pikachu and Eevee getting more focus. I hope that clears things up for you. ^^
@@user-bb1nu3to3q You'll be glad to know that I 100% agree with you on what role Yellow should fill in the context of a Let's Go narrative. I think her youthful appearance makes a lot of people forget that she's the same age as Red, Blue, and Green, which means that she could very well be in her 20s by the time a Let's Go story happens (since it would need to take place around the time of Gen 7 to match game lore) and therefore wouldn't be suited to travel with the main cast in the same way as a young protagonist. I think being a more mentor-like character is the perfect expansion of her role. Let's also be honest, Let's Go is way more deserving of having a Pikachu in the spotlight than SV considering it's the damn title of one of the games. Especially if you consider Let's Go to be a spiritual successor to the original Yellow in a way as I do. For my trio of main protagonists, I have them start with Pikachu (Male), Eevee (Female), and Pidgey (since regardless of game version, Trace has a Pidgeot that can Mega Evolve, which feels very Ace-coded to me).
I think ash might be yellow not red as in the first episode of the pokemon anime we see all the starters chosen by 3 other trainers one of them being Gary. Ash while having a friendship with Gary wasn't as strong as the friendship of red and blue (or green) and both ash and yellow first pokemon were rodents. ash has also shown some kind of psychic bond with his pokemon like Pikachu, Greninja and Lucario and yellow was a psychic that had strong bonds to her pokemon. yellow can also make her pokemon weak or strong and ash in Pokemon black and white has Pikachu lose to a low leveled snivy and also doesn't want Pikachu to evolve and yellow was also not happy that her Rattata evolved. Ash has also crossdressed a lot of times in the anime and yellow was also pretending to be a boy in her chapter of the manga and in Pokemon masters we see ash and has the same back story but red is also in that universe meaning that the 3 trainers that got the starters from oak were the red green and blue and since yellow is the 4th of that quartet and ash was the 4th kid oak wanted to give a starter to so I think ash represents yellow rather than red.
Even I, one of the self proclaimed biggest Yellow fans, who legit copes about the lets go games by pretending that the female character having a ponytail is a reference to Yellow, cannot match these levels of cope.
Idk but I first found them at my local library. There are also certain apps connected to libraries online, so you might be able to use those. Hope this helps ^^
5:01 i was curious about that statement so i asked my mother and she said she just popped in existence in 2000 so it is true, there were no females until 2000
My grandma can confirm. The government says she was born in the 1940's, but she actually woke up from a coma already aged in the middle of space. She landed on the moon with a bunch of other women, and suddenly a spaceship came, and an astronaut came out, then rounded them up and brought them to earth. /j
I will forever be bitter that they didn't just rename Wally to Emerald and let him be the 3rd dex holder. Not only do I absolutely loathe Emerald as a character, but as you said Wally's story with Treecko was already there! I don't see why they couldn't just continue Wally's story since he was a more major character in Adventures anyway. But that's the only instance where I'd rather an existing character have a role vs. making a new one. As for Gens 6 - 9, they really dropped the ball by not just making their own original characters to have the remaining starter Pokémon. This is especially egregious since Gen 6 literally introduced the customization feature to the games! All they need to do is take one of the PCs, doll them up in some custom clothes and BAM, new character. Give them the remaining starter and move on. In the same way the anime has experimented with original characters with Goh, Liko, Roy, Dot, etc, Adventures could do the same.
The reason than the player characters don't count is because they are a base, you only need to give personality and no more because they have history already, but in case like Yellow or Emerald you don't have nothing, no desing, no history, so you need to create them, even with Blue she was a discarted character, so even with the desing you have to create more things, in the case of Crys she have so many chances fron his original counterpart (in other aspects), that she feels like a oc Character in th manga
I'm currently preparing to write my own adaptation of Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee. Chase would act as Yellow's male counterpart while she goes by the name Elaine. The rival Trace's story will be included as well. Honestly, it would have been cool to see Red wearing Ash's clothes in the earlier arcs. -I know this is a tired phrase, but- Wally got done dirty in the manga. He had to give up Grovyle, Kirlia, and a Pokédex in favor of Emerald. And he only received cameo appearances in the ORAS arc. At the very least, he should've been given a shiny Gallade as a reference to the shiny Ralts glitch from the games. Diantha was allowed to keep her Gardevoir in the manga, even though both Ruby and Sapphire evolved their Kirlias into Gardevoir and Gallade. Maybe Wally will part of his own trio one day... Technically Crystal and her mother share the role of Lyra. Crystal is wearing Lyra's clothes while her mother ended up with an Azumarill. I don't resent Emerald, but a lot was sacrificed to justify his existence. Actually, this might very well be the reason I refuse to axe Chase and Trace from the manga. I do however appreciate that each of Emerald's Pokémon bred with the Pokémon of the other Dex Holders, acting as Easter eggs for Generation 4. (And Red's Espeon and Blue's ♀ Ditto breeding as well.) I would've given White's Tepig to White 2 and evolved Black 2's Dewott into an Hisuian Samurott. Let's hope there's a Grey version down the line, a Let's Go version of Black 2/White 2, or a "Legends Kyurem". Third trainers could be introduced to go alongside Black & White, Black 2 and White 2, and Cheren & Bianca. Ideally Legends Z-A could introduce a character named Z and they could be the owner of Delphox. Hell, make him AZ's descendant. I would never create a Gun version. Arrow or Spear, maybe.
Wally could’ve came back for a region grey could be Wally then hugh grey2 z/zed could be an ex team flare or a completely different then the dude that starts with H ( didn’t know how spell How) could be a dex holder / star then HOP not Marvin I red the first book I think that’s an absolute joke that a school boy is a 3rd character HOP could rename himself hop gun or be a warriors from the island of armor then a new character from scarlet named teal also indigo could be a name for someone in Unova

Although this vid did make me remember something. Me being honestly a little frustrated the starter type who wasn't with a Dex Holder isn't even a rotating thing
Aside from Fennekin, its always the water starter!
Although it's good to create original characters emeralds personality makes the battle frontier arc really hard to read
EMARALD IS MY GOAT,BRO IS A MENACE
@user-bb1nu3to3q Pikachu is the franchise mascot. They'll be more than glad to shove it on as many character's teams as possible.
For my trio of main protagonists, I have them start with Pikachu (Male), Eevee (Female), and Pidgey (since regardless of game version, Trace has a Pidgeot that can Mega Evolve, which feels very Ace-coded to me).
dw i know Kusaka is gonna give us both Teal AND Indigo
Wait, in what series did white2 get Delphox?? I don't remember reading that?? That said, I stopped part way through sun and moon....
In the complete ending of XY.
Yellow wake up you slept past the alarm please wake up 😭
Anyone have sword and can trade me an ice darumaka? I only have shield and would love to have one.
pretty obvious the reasons we dont get new original characters is because since gen 2 or 3 weve already had all the charactess weve needed...
Where can I find the Mangas online, I just can't find it.
Idk but I first found them at my local library. There are also certain apps connected to libraries online, so you might be able to use those. Hope this helps ^^
so for past few gen they only gave the main characters either grass or fire. greninja was the last water starter owned by a protagonist
Can someone help me to have a ditto English?
Wasn't fond of Emerald much he was too bratty
5:01 i was curious about that statement so i asked my mother and she said she just popped in existence in 2000 so it is true, there were no females until 2000
My grandma can confirm. The government says she was born in the 1940's, but she actually woke up from a coma already aged in the middle of space. She landed on the moon with a bunch of other women, and suddenly a spaceship came, and an astronaut came out, then rounded them up and brought them to earth.

Ugh, ruby at third???
But the player characters have not personally, so they are basically original characters, they just share looks!
The rival isnt green is Blue, green is the girl that posses squirtle
Only in the west, he literally said he was using the Japanese names.
Hope writer watch your videos
The video is why they stopped making original characters, but then you complain when they make original characters! Seems weird
(And Red's Espeon and Blue's ♀ Ditto breeding as well.)
I would've given White's Tepig to White 2 and evolved Black 2's Dewott into an Hisuian Samurott.
The only manga OC that I didn’t like design wise was Emerald, his hair is ugly to look at
I don't care bout yellow lol
Wally could’ve came back for a region grey could be Wally then hugh grey2 z/zed could be an ex team flare or a completely different then the dude that starts with H ( didn’t know how spell How) could be a dex holder / star then HOP not Marvin I red the first book I think that’s an absolute joke that a school boy is a 3rd character HOP could rename himself hop gun or be a warriors from the island of armor then a new character from scarlet named teal also indigo could be a name for someone in Unova
Im sad that the new pokemon games started adding DLC that are overly priced, i miss the old 3rd versions
Bro 60 dollars compares to 30 dollars
@@GeniusTrainer720 do you want them to try fixing the game or fix the game
Because Emerald was a wack character, should have just given that title to Wally
That is rong the boys are red and Blue and the girl os green
Japanese names > western names
It can’t be helped!!!🤷🏿🤷🏿🤷🏿
Because Pokemon is a dead franchise controlled by uncreating undeserving people.
Sadly that you spoke without understanding the actual situation.

No one likes emerald
Well emerald was lame so I can see why
