  • It is May 1991 and we start at Potters Bar with a shot of a calss 47 hauled parcels working plus an Clas 91+MkIV stock before heading over to St Albans for the start of the evening peak. We have a good variety of workings and traction. There are 319 EMUs on Network SouthEast services while the Midland Main Line Inter-City workings are in the hands of Valanta Inter-City 125 HST's and tow class 47 hauled locomotive workings. Parcels workings were operated by a class 31 in BR Blue livery while class 56 & 60s power the freight workings along with a class 47 & 56 light engine moves. If you liked the video please subscribe to my channel, there are lots more transport & quirky vids to upload!

    Nice! Interesting to see that some Thameslink trains passed straight through I thought St.Albans was always a majour stop for Thameslink. Good to see plenty of Valenta action as well. Also those 31s were ruthless to the environment haha!

      @SoiBuakhaoRoutemasterbus  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Some peak hour Thameslink's were first stop Luton. And the 31s were on borrow time with the Parcels sector, when Speedlink finished there were enough spare 47s to replace them....

    Thrashing Brians, love it! 31410 was a staple of the Norwich to B'ham New Street 4 coacher along with 31411 when I was a spotter at Nuneaton.

    It is a good example of how much has changed on our railways in the past 25-35 years
    *CHANGES THAT HAVE NOT ALWAYS BEEN WELCOMED BY ENTHUSIASTS*
    but the "old order" can't last forever 🙄☹
