I believe that because Angelina was born to sing, not only was she given a phenomenal voice and love for music, she was blessed with a grandma that has supported her to the nth degree. Of course family has played a huge role. Because of video we have watched Angelina grow from the magical start and even though I won't be around for the magical finish, I believe, from what I have experienced, I don't know if there will ever be another Angelina blessing this world like she will. Her grandmother, Mery Zamani, was a huge Billie Holiday and overall fan of jazz. It was she who introduced Angelina to Billie when she was a mere baby. knowing that herself would be able to absorb and actually sing aloud, not long after being born, and perhaps her granddaughter was a prodigy who could do it as well. I've never heard of extremely young children being 'turned on' by jazz, with the exception of Angelina. It's truly extraordinary if you think about it.

I am so glad you reacted to this!!! It has to be my favorite behind the scenes video of hers. As you so eloquently elaborated on, she is beautifully intimate with the song. She wisely utilizes techniques similar to voice-over actors to relate to the microphone/listener. The first time I watched this I was blown away. I see you received it the same way. I appreciate pausing rather than trying to fit comments in the spaces mainly because you can miss key points. The "negative space" is just as much of her artistry as vocalizations as well. So much is ahead of us with this insanely talented young lady. I can't wait. Beautiful in every way. 😍

Uncle, a great test for Angelina's magnificent performance of this song is to play it to well seasoned jazz artists and ask them for their opinion. Just listening without knowing anything about Angelina (what she looks like; who she is; how old she is, etc.,) Probably their first thought might be, "Who is this? How come I've never heard her before?" Uncle Momo, what's also on display here is her transition back and forth from who she is to an extraordinary artist performing at a level I can't imagine anyone else keeping us mesmerized on "every word" the way she does. Playing the song without interruption was a very wise choice and I loved your pantomiming during the song. And yes, what a nice touch at the end to see grandma Mery.

Just listening without knowing anything about Angelina (what she looks like; who she is; how old she is, etc.,) Probably their first thought might be, "Who is this? How come I've never heard her before?"
Uncle Momo, what's also on display here is her transition back and forth from who she is to an extraordinary artist performing at a level I can't imagine anyone else keeping us mesmerized on "every word" the way she does.
